To the unfamiliar, Pracilla’s dagger bleeds for 50% health (30% for bosses) but the build-up is only half as much. It also does occult damage, making it effective against gods such as Ornstein, Gwin, Gwindolin and the black and silver knights.
Watching all these Dark Souls challenge streams inspired me to play Dark Souls 3 again. I soloed Pontiff Sulyvahn for the first time using a pure magic build and each time I died fighting him I remembered some of the wild challenge runs you've done and just keep at it and before I knew it I had beat him. I had an idea for a challenge run. All skill points in luck using only the weapon, and armor of the starting class. Anyway thanks for the inspiration. I've really had a great time with DS3, and with the servers back up its been fun helping other with boss fights.
Wild how much this channel has grown. Was here for under 1000 and will be here next year for the 500k. Much love, and keep doing what you're doing brother
Hey Lemon, I did a quick check and didn't see anything like this on your channel, but have you considered a "left-handing weapons only" challenge, or a combination with that? Maybe with an item rando or something so your options are limited and unexpected. But the main challenge would be that you can only swing weapons from your left hand.
Theres a challange run ive done twice now ds1 and ds2 called the the looter challange, basicly you can only use items droped from enemies(and key items(this incluides flask shards and the such), smithing is also fine) and items gifed from npcs and covenants, depraved start. In ds1 i just skiped the asylum part of it. I finished the ds2 run last month and learned some wierd stuff like how theres a crossbow that doesnt require ammo. I thought about doing the sorta opposite where i can only use items from merchants as well.
you know to this day i have never beaten a souls like game but i love to watch people challenge themselfs playing them and out of all the ones i have found i like you the most
When I eventually learn to mod Dark Souls, the only change I want to make to the Butcher's Knife is to make its classification a dagger. Zero other changes.
I’ve done this challenge before, daggers can be quite good with the right build: Painting guardian sword with a buff like Sunlight Blade or Darkmoon Blade just melts bosses like nothing else. Alternatively, Pricilla’s Dagger or the Gold & Silver Tracers also work really really well.
daggers in games can easily get too much in the "slashy slashy *wait i am doing no fucking damage*" territory but ds1 daggers really work except being as long as a butterknife. more build reliant than a straight sword but fun anyway
I think it would be cool if you did a run where whenever you pick up an item you have to use it, so if you pick up armor, a weapon or a ring, you have to equip it and use it until you pick something up that replace it in its slot
Totally get the bored feeling in elden ring. Game turns into a boss rush on subsequent runs because you are required to kill nothing to progress to bosses. Previous games force you to fight at least some of the enemies if you don't want to get trapped in a corner or stunlocked. Spending 10 minutes sprinting across the map is boring as hell, but there's no reason to engage with anything if it doesn't have an item you want
Exactly, Lemon is not alone in this. I play souls games for tightly crafted worlds with challenging runs between bonfires and interesting boss fights, and elden ring just had so much empty space. I could see why people would like it, but it just isn't for me
Same honestly - For me it has a DS1 feel, first half is ok but after OnS (Firegiant) It's a slog. And theres no reason to new game because what you stated (Elden ring not DS1) I've enjoyed darksouls over elden ring. Hell even Code Vien feels better then Elden Ring And maybe it's just me but it feels like so much of Elden Ring is Faith / Int focused because my strength build didn't do shit cause like 5 of my 8 greatswords required god damn faith. Can't do raw strength anymore. That and I started up ng+ and ttied ROB amd god damn that garbage is busted. So yea I'll stick to DS BB and CV
You can do the exact same in previous titles, tho. You don't have to kill things to get to the boss and you don't have to kill things if they don't have shit you want. I don't remember the last time DS3 forced me to unalive the NK to get his fancy poky stick. Not really a valid thing to have gripes with when it's in previous titles. I'll concede the map stuff, cos even with Torrent it does feel like it takes a while to get to places.
Yeah, what is considered to be a sword, dagger or knife can be confusing. The Gold Tracer is a Curved Sword. Still no dagger though. Warhammer might be more approachable through some of the computer games. The tabletop is indeed quite expensive and the rules aren't always the best. That thing about naming children only at a certain age was actually quite common in history. Or they gave them "preliminary" names and then "real" ones when they reached a certain age. For example the Ainu Japan chose vulgar and diminishing names for infants so that evil spirits wouldn't take interest in them. It's fine to like Goblins but please don't like the ones from Goblin Slayer. There's only one thing they are good for. Being slayed. Not picking up things kind of triggers me but I know that they do nothing for the run. Still feels wrong. I don't think it's even remotely possible without modding the game but how about Vermintide with fire bombs only? So as a DM how many players have you managed to drive into suizide or surrendering their souls to the devil. And which one? Demon lords are also acceptable. (Just in case, this isn't meant seriously, try to remember the RPG scare.) When it comes to RPGs I prefer systems like The Dark Eye that are less class and combat focused and leave you more freedom. Not like those can't be cheesed of course. Subnautica can qualify as a horror game. It doesn't have many jump scares but a lot of suspense and dread at times. Highly recommend.
I have a idea which is hard Farron spell only run you only have 4 weapons 1farron dart/great Farron dart 2 Farron hail and lastly farron flash sword. I tried it and it's fun ish and it's a mostly patients run so yeah just your type

Lemon, some video I watch actively and some I have as back noise. I personally feel like you can do both and that's good. Really. Also, I started a run myself cos I never used daggers and I'm surprised how easy they are
In case you haven't heard the tale, Miyazaki apparently wanted Gwyn to be the ultimate challenge and incorporated all the skills you'd learned up until that point including parrying. But as we all know, parrying is broken in DS1, and the rest is history.
i definitely agree with you the dark souls community gets very defensive i know because how you feel about elden ring is how i feel about ds3 and people do not like when i criticize it
The weapon that most disappointed me out of all Souls games is the Dancer's Enchanted Swords. Look so nice, with a beautiful moveset, but horrendous damage.
