Hi-Z is a low pass filter so if your input needs that for the best output, that is what is used for. Ideally, you would run into a mixer before plugging into a speaker. If you have a bass guitar the hi-z would make that input sound from the guitar cut off because it creates a filter of the low end. So, that would not be ideal!
Not gonna lie, from what ive heard the K12 Legacy trumps the K12.2. The k12 legacy has much better bass and mid range than the k12.2, also has a rms of 1000 watts and a peak of 2000. The k12.2 doesn’t have 1000 watt rms which is sad. I also have heard of the countless issues that the k12.2 has had, and for a expensive “high quality” speakers is not a good look, from cutting out to just not working. The k12 legacy is a indestructible speaker that is extremely reliable which makes it more appealing. you should review the k12 legacy vs the k12.2
If we could get our hands on a legacy model, we would! The K-12 .2 is the only one we have right now. But, I agree this would be a good test. Would you still find it interesting even if the speaker was used? We are using a brand new 12.2 in the video. The legacy might be different based off age and use
@andreww5856 I have a K12 Legacy and the K12.2 which I bought a couple years ago and CANNOT for the life of me get the K12.2 to sound any where similar to what the K12 Legacy has given me since I bought it back in 2015. The K12 Legacy is by far the best powered speaker I have used. The “DEEP” setting for low frequency and “Vocal Boost” for the high frequency is unmatched. I still don’t understand why QSC trademarked the “DEEP” setting and ultimately got rid of it with the K12.2. If you or anybody knows a preset setting or knows how to setup the manual settings to have the K12.2 sound anywhere similar to how the K12 Legacy would sound with “DEEP” and “Vocal Boost” activated, PLEASE SHARE!!! I’d pay for this haha
I actually have both of these speakers and I love them both. I've never had any problem with them, I use one legacy and one 12.2 with the KS118 sub. It's awesome. I do like the deep mode on the legacy and I do use that 👏🏻
Hola desde Colombia , tengo la k12-2 desde el 2019 y hasta la fecha han trabajado sin ningún problema . las he trabajado a full rango con u tiempo continuo de 8 horas y todo va bien.
Hi-Z is a high pass filter. So, it would be for cutting off any low end fq from an input. I would not recommend plugging a guitar straight into the speaker.
Hello! Isn’t the Hi-Z for plugging in a guitar or bass? Thank you for the video.

How big a room will these rock ?
100-150 people
@ just got 2 ks118 also. Boom boom boom
I like to use 12.2 as two channel speakers for music, are they the best choice? Thanks
Yes
What about all the people experiencing the protection mode 4 errors that seems to be a huge downfall with these speakers.
Have not had it happen yet, but will find out and let you know!
@@djcwestk12 legacy is so much better lol
I believe that’s what’s been happening to me lately. I’ve looked into updating the dsp software. Hopefully it helps.
I though the SPL wold be more loud.
Same! You can def push it harder than we did
