@@edwinsprojects7039 Actually yes. A few months ago one of the speakers suddenly went silent during a solo gig. It turned out to be a software problem that needed to be updated on my end. The update was to prevent a shutdown that was intended to happen when the speaker was pushed too hard. However it was set too sensitive at the factory. I was not pushing them at all. Because I never registered the speakers when I purchased them, I didn't receive the update and never updated the software which would have prevented the shutdown of the speaker. So though I was still under warranty, and sent it in to be repaired, I still had to cover the cost of shipping which on a heavy speaker was over two hundred dollars. So lesson learned...make sure you register and stay aware of any software updates. Also registering extends the factory warranty. I did the update on the other speaker at home but it didn't work for the one that I had to send in. Other than that, they sound great and have been working fine since.
Question...when adding a sub do you recommend line in first to the sub then slave to the main or line in to the main and slave to the sub. I see it recommend both ways
I recently purchased the K12.2 for the purpose of playing music from my phone, I have the bluetooth adapter but can I also play this speaker through wi-fi, if so, do I need another adapter?
How do I get the volume up much higher on my K 12.twos I feel that the volume should go much higher than what it’s going, I’m a totally blind DJ can somebody help me
There are a couple of ways to go about this. Something that is common between the ways is running an XLR cable from your input speaker, we’ll call that one Speaker A, to the second speaker, Speaker B. My suggestion is to use the “Mix Out” from Speaker A and run it to “Input A”, the top one, of Speaker B. Do note that the “Mix Out” sums up the DSP setting from Speaker A. So if you do any processing on Speaker A, DON’T on Speaker B unless you really need to. BT Connection: Connect a BT receiver to Speaker A and wirelessly pair your device to the receiver. AUX Cable: If your device has a 3.5mm jack, you can run an AUX cable and plug it into “Input C”. You could also use a Multimedia Direct Box to convert the signal into XLR, but that’s kind of an extra step. Hope this helps!
Hello, I have (2) new KS12.2s and (2) KS2121C and my question is once I select the setting on the KS12.2 to using a sub, I should just leave it to default? Thanks!
I recently bought 2 QSC mains and 2 QSC subs. Set it up through my mixer how this video recommends and I keep losing sound to the mains. I have done 2 shows and have lost sound at least once for both events. I don't believe they are over heating because it lost sound 10 minutes after being turned on. What's going on?
I'm playing a vocal (A), acoustic guitar (B). Do I go through the setting process (most likely default), no sub, etc as you explained. Then do I go back and select channel (B) and go through the setting process again for channel (B) guitar? My acoustic guitar has a very sophisticated onboard pup system. Is default best for guitar channel? I've been using my old parametric system for 30 years so forgive me if I sound totally clueless. This is all new to me. Thank you so much for helping us out with this video. Great job~~!~~
Just wondering I have 2 of these and sometimes one goes out I have to turn off and turn back on any suggestions what it could be and my firmware up to date
qsc 12.2 still actual and brand fixing some problems, or not in 2024? In between qsc 12.2 and Yamaha DXR12 mk2 for drum monitor, for edrums- to feeling punch, presence of edrums on stage.. Please help.
How to connect it with the KS112 Sub? Should I connect the line to the KS112 sub with 80Hz crossover, then connect to the K12 or should I connect to the K12.2 with 80Hz crossover then to the KS112 Sub? Which way is better?
If I want to connect a passive sub to these, am I right in thinking I can go in the following order? My mixer outputs (Dynacord CMS1000) to input 1 on each K12.2, then come from each output 1 to an external amp (in my case an EV P1250), and from there into the subs (in my case EV subs)? Then simply use the controls on the K12.2 to crossover at say 100? It seems simple, but before I damage anything it would be good to confirm! Many thanks in advance
MrMaui - same here - these speakers cut out. I opened a case with QSC they suggested to update the firmware - I did - same issue. I have been waiting for "weeks" for a reply from QSC - nothing. Terrible customer service. Shame should have researched these speakers. This is a known issue and it seems QSC is dodging the bullet. At this point - I would not recommend buying these speakers. I am still looking for remedy. Will try to come back and update if/when QSC replies. I spoke with a certified repair center ( 120 miles from my house). In my case, I'm asking QSC for the next step - again - nothing. I read on a reddit post that an engineer claimed he was replacing the amp-mod on many. The Engineer claimed the speakers are excellent just - it seems - a bad amp module. Apparently earlier Amp models were working fine but as soon as I mixed in drums - after some time - the speaker would cut out and needed a reboot. I'm not using them now. They are sitting in my basement, they look pretty and cost me a lot of cash but... useless. Again, will try to get back to you viewers with updates....
For audio cables we really like LEX and Whirlwind for XLR. A good budget option is HOSA's "Pro" series of cables. If you wanna learn more about XLR cables we posted a video about the topic recently: ua-cam.com/video/dc3FiW4Mjkg/v-deo.html
Dear sir, I am waiting for my new k118 3600 w. sub to get here, I'm not a dj. I"m using it in a rock and roll band, combined with two k12.2speakers. what would be the best settings to use all around for a rock band?
rphurl13 I would start with the default settings (also recommended by QSC when using K series tops), which crosses over at 80 Hz and then passes the rest of the signal to the K12’s. This will give you a great sound and will work great for almost all applications.
Hi, Can we attach Y adapter to both A and B line in? If we do, what happens? Does it get more power or loudness? Or its not recommended. Please answer. Thx.
I have a pair of Qsc 12.2 brand new speakers and I use it for a band . When I use the input 1 of the 12.2, it is clipping soon when compared to when I use the input 2. Any idea or suggestions which one to use
Check the input settings. You probably have it set to mic level which boosts the signal. If you’re coming out of a mixer into the speaker, the input should be set to line level. Check 3:00.
Quick question: we are using this without a mixer a vocalist with piano. Is there a way to add a slight bit of reverb to the vocal mic? Would this possibly be in the EQ settings?

I’m a dj and just bought 2 of these, I come from using mackie and JBL , had an issue with these speakers cutting out. I’m using a controller with no mixer, do I need a mixer with this type of speaker?
READ BEFORE BUYING - I have waited for the speakers for three months, and when I finally received them and used them at a gig last week, BOTH speakers reduced to almost inaudible levels of sound twice during the night and I had to go restart them. Once, I was only using the microphone and there wasn’t any music playing (I am a DJ) and it still reduced volume. I am reading that many other recent buyers of the speakers are having similar problems. I am searching for a solution because I would love to keep the speakers after all the great things I’ve heard about them, but I am not finding any to this problem. Anyone know what’s up??
@@aharonpearl9161 My first thought was the same, however, the clip light had not been on all night and the speakers were on separate power circuits. I tried them again at a different venue the very next week and had the same exact issue, except this time, one of the speakers would not turn on again even after restarting. I called QSC service centers, and they all told me that there has been a recent problem with the speaker amp module units, and many units have this issue. They suggested instead of repairs (since supplies for repairs are also backed up and many units are coming in with this issue) that I return my K12.2s. I have returned them and won't buy again. Extremely disappointing.
@@edwinsprojects7039 nope. I ended up returning them and decided I was done with the K12.2 since. Been looking at RCF since but haven’t pulled the trigger ($$$).
That's a great question! Typically you will go into your powered sub first, as it has a built in crossover. This ensures only the low frequencies are being reproduced with your sub and it passes the crossovered signal to your tops. This will make them work more efficiently and give you great output.
Actually it doesn't matter which connection is first because the signal is processed prior to you plugging it in. Set that up first when you turn them on and are patched in.So if you run to you sub fist, select the proper crossover setting (for example: low pass at 80 then patch to your top main with low cut at 80) or patch to your top speakers input and patch to your sub, just make sure your settings are on the crossover are correct and you're good to go.
Why is no one talking about how weird it is that these speakers only have only one side handle? My JBL Eons (a handle on each side) were soooo easy to lift with my arms and place on the speaker poles, but the QSCs make it very awkward and dangerous. Lifting with my back instead of my arms. I think it's the weirdest design flaw I've ever encountered and I might have to sell mine even though the sound quality is fantastic.
