Problems with a broken QSC K12.2 Speaker selection knob broke off. Poorly designed?

QSC speaker came in for repair with a broken rotary knob. Even though QSC speakers are very sought after and expensive and geared towards professionals. I did find some flaws that will incapacitate your speaker by a simple knob
This knob could be easily broken off by applying pressure to the left and the right side of the knob

Couldn’t agree more. About to tackle this repair today, got the parts from QSC… they should’ve at least sent me the parts for free. My speakers have been transported in bags carefully in my car and I somehow still broke the stupid scroll knob off. The most annoying part is that two buttons could perorm the same functions as the scroll knob and be impossible to break.

@@360MIX thanks for responding! i'm hoping i can get this done without too much trouble. i'm fairly decent with a soldering iron. i dont get why QSC put this achilles heel in their products.
