Gracie Bullyproof is proven system designed to teach children how to deal with persistent bullies. The Gracie Bullyproof program effectively addresses the psychological, verbal, and physical aspects of bullying and has been featured on CNN, NBC, and Oprah.com as one of the only reliable counter-measures to bullying. Unlike other martial arts which teach violent punches and kicks, the Gracie Bullyproof program utilizes non-violent control holds which are only used as a last option against a physically assaultive bully. While other programs may make children more aggressive, the Gracie Bullyproof program promotes non-violence through respect, discipline and compassion.
Originally, the Gracie Bullyproof program was only taught at select Certified Training Centers around the world, but now, the complete program is available on DVD (www.GracieBully...) so that parents can empower their children from the comfort of their own homes. I watch your guys videos for two reasons:
    1) I am becoming extremely interested in Jiu Jitsu and MMA altogether. This accounts for the breakdowns and lessons you have up on youtube (about half of the video content)
    2) Your philosophies on things are awesome. They seem so simple, but have huge implications.
No cuts or edits makes it so real. I can feel you coming to the conclusion as I listen to it; almost as if I'm taking the journey with you. Keep it up guys. Loving it.

This one video, opened my eyes to a major “ah ha” moment regarding not only my own attitude toward myself, learning the techniques correctly at class, by feeling like I have to get them perfect, but ALSO how I transfer that same attitude toward my boys, when teaching them anything.
I feel my frustration rise, when I feel like they’re not listening or paying attention, and I can literally see and feel them “pull away”, and become confused, disheartened, and disappointed. Their interest completely evaporates. Then I feel guilty that I’m not being a “good Dad”... Vicious cycle...
I now have a new, EFFECTIVE approach with every interaction I have with them!
Thank you both for sharing this brilliant lesson of, “you’re never too old to learn”!

Wish my folks used the 'praise often' & stealth correction techniques when I was a kid. Instead of having fun & learning at my own pace, I was more caught up with trying NOT to get my parent's mad and getting frustrated by doing it for the wrong reason.
Thanks for the tips, guys. This will definitely help a lot of people out there be better parents.

As a grandfather of 8 between the ages of 1yr and 13 yrs. I can attest to the effectiveness and power of the teaching methodologies espoused by the Gracie's. We've started the Gracie Games with our grandkids and followed exactly the methods demoed on the DVD's and the results are AMAZING! The kids LOVE it and beg for more!

Ive been teaching Martial Arts for about 10 years now and when I first started instructing I was very much like the first person described over time and through experience I turned into the second person without realizing it. Point being when I first started teaching there were times I received complaints from parents and I'm sure I frustrated students (they never told me I did, but I could tell by the look on their face) and I would become frustrated, almost to the point to where I no longer wanted to teach. Had I seen this video way back then all could have been avoided. No matter if your a parent a teacher or just wanting to help others learn this advice is better than gold!

My 11-year old niece has seen me and my buddy roll before, and work techniques in the past. And recently she has begun to ask me to go show her some of the moves we do. This one piece of advice will help me EXPONENTIALLY in properly instructing her, and will also make teaching easier, and more fun. What you guys are teaching applies to more things than just Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!

My Grandson has been bullied at school for a long time, and he has depression and anxiety. So I have joined him in Jiu Jitsu, he is not really getting the moves right now, and I have told him exactly what you said this is for you to know how to defend yourself. Does all Jiu Jitsu teach these verbal Jiu Jitsu? I am in Canada, and so far in the 3 mths he has been going I haven't heard anything like this, I think it would be so helpful. I have asked him to watch your videos and learn from them Thanks for sharing, there is so much bullying going on in the schools today, and nothing really gets done

  • @EGarrett01

Awesome video. Another thing, it's probably good, once the kid is moving away from just playing the games, to tell them why you correct certain things. Like why the thumb goes on top (I think because it stops them from bending your wrist down and hurting you).

this is just great, and this can apply to more then just BJJ, it kinda reminds me of work when in training, my boss just tells me what to do but never shows me calmly and makes me feel like crap. But yeah I hope most BJJ teachers are like this, what you showed the mistake of teachers where they slam their hand on the matt out of frustration....that is the least I want and it would make me feel stupid and I would never go again, and I am 20.
