Gracie Bullyproof is proven system designed to teach children how to deal with persistent bullies. The Gracie Bullyproof program effectively addresses the psychological, verbal, and physical aspects of bullying and has been featured on CNN, NBC, and Oprah.com as one of the only reliable counter-measures to bullying. Unlike other martial arts which teach violent punches and kicks, the Gracie Bullyproof program utilizes non-violent control holds which are only used as a last option against a physically assaultive bully. While other programs may make children more aggressive, the Gracie Bullyproof program promotes non-violence through respect, discipline and compassion.
Originally, the Gracie Bullyproof program was only taught at select Certified Training Centers around the world, but now, the complete program is available on DVD (www.GracieBully...) so that parents can empower their children from the comfort of their own homes. I watch your guys videos for two reasons:
1) I am becoming extremely interested in Jiu Jitsu and MMA altogether. This accounts for the breakdowns and lessons you have up on youtube (about half of the video content)
2) Your philosophies on things are awesome. They seem so simple, but have huge implications.
No cuts or edits makes it so real. I can feel you coming to the conclusion as I listen to it; almost as if I'm taking the journey with you. Keep it up guys. Loving it.
As an instructor, I couldn't agree more! And, thanks for the reminder!
This one video, opened my eyes to a major “ah ha” moment regarding not only my own attitude toward myself, learning the techniques correctly at class, by feeling like I have to get them perfect, but ALSO how I transfer that same attitude toward my boys, when teaching them anything.
I feel my frustration rise, when I feel like they’re not listening or paying attention, and I can literally see and feel them “pull away”, and become confused, disheartened, and disappointed. Their interest completely evaporates. Then I feel guilty that I’m not being a “good Dad”... Vicious cycle...
I now have a new, EFFECTIVE approach with every interaction I have with them!
Thank you both for sharing this brilliant lesson of, “you’re never too old to learn”!
Rener: Perfect! Ryron= big smile. lol that made my day .
Wish my folks used the 'praise often' & stealth correction techniques when I was a kid. Instead of having fun & learning at my own pace, I was more caught up with trying NOT to get my parent's mad and getting frustrated by doing it for the wrong reason.
Thanks for the tips, guys. This will definitely help a lot of people out there be better parents.
as a parent/teacher/coach this is some of the best words in regards to teaching children I have come across.
As a grandfather of 8 between the ages of 1yr and 13 yrs. I can attest to the effectiveness and power of the teaching methodologies espoused by the Gracie's. We've started the Gracie Games with our grandkids and followed exactly the methods demoed on the DVD's and the results are AMAZING! The kids LOVE it and beg for more!
The way you guys explain is Awesome, my son has autism and understood your whole video and tryed it. AND IT WORKED!!. ..now he wants to get into martial arts...he says it make him feel confortble and said it will make him feel safer...
I have to say... I have two boys 5 and 7 yr old. And I have to say, I have a lot to works on myself. Thanks again.
Ive been teaching Martial Arts for about 10 years now and when I first started instructing I was very much like the first person described over time and through experience I turned into the second person without realizing it. Point being when I first started teaching there were times I received complaints from parents and I'm sure I frustrated students (they never told me I did, but I could tell by the look on their face) and I would become frustrated, almost to the point to where I no longer wanted to teach. Had I seen this video way back then all could have been avoided. No matter if your a parent a teacher or just wanting to help others learn this advice is better than gold!
You 2 are genius teachers. This method can be applied to all kinds of teaching, not just jiu-jitsu, but everything in life.
EXCELLENT!! These are really beyond great! The Gracie family is a wonderful example of class, respect, and honor....THANK YOU for such positive role models, all of you!!
That´s the very best way to teach mmaa and whatever in life. Thanks a lot.
These are the guys I want children to listen to regarding self defense.
Just with The first Two clips of videos... Man, you guys taught me a whole lot. Thanks you both. Peace brothers. And Patience is number one.
Ohhhh nooo... that is soooo me with the frustrating verbal grip instructions. This was an enlightening video.
My 11-year old niece has seen me and my buddy roll before, and work techniques in the past. And recently she has begun to ask me to go show her some of the moves we do. This one piece of advice will help me EXPONENTIALLY in properly instructing her, and will also make teaching easier, and more fun. What you guys are teaching applies to more things than just Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!
I like this technique. I'll try it while training new hires at work.
Excellent instructors.
thank you, this helps me in more ways u can imagine, i woudlnt be exagerating if i say this video helps me in dealing with my spouse and . well , basically my life gets better
Not a fighter, but I love you shows.
This video should have 7 billion views

This would have gone a long way with raising my kids. I'm wondering how I can impliment this now that their grown! Is it too late? If they aren't parents already, these guys will make great dads and uncles.
This is a very interesting teaching technique. I'll go as far as to say that you can use this technique in everyday life to you child

That video was Perfect!
This is an awesome video. It's very inspiring. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you!
positive re-enforcement
you guys have clearly studied teaching
Ryron never gets to talk...LOL Rener never lets him and hes so passionate about it
Awesome advice.
Awesome!
My Grandson has been bullied at school for a long time, and he has depression and anxiety. So I have joined him in Jiu Jitsu, he is not really getting the moves right now, and I have told him exactly what you said this is for you to know how to defend yourself. Does all Jiu Jitsu teach these verbal Jiu Jitsu? I am in Canada, and so far in the 3 mths he has been going I haven't heard anything like this, I think it would be so helpful. I have asked him to watch your videos and learn from them Thanks for sharing, there is so much bullying going on in the schools today, and nothing really gets done
Awesome video. Another thing, it's probably good, once the kid is moving away from just playing the games, to tell them why you correct certain things. Like why the thumb goes on top (I think because it stops them from bending your wrist down and hurting you).
Just great, thank you so much!
Greetings from Germany
@likeomgutube It is not about teaching the child yet. They are just giving an example on what parents are doing something wrong.
Then what was the cause for the insult? I have much respect for these two instructors, and have seen their classes first hand. They are amazing teachers, and they love their art. I want to emulate some of their teaching practices to improve myself as an instructor.
I think this applies to adults often too
PERFECT!!!
"Do we expect the child to do everything perfect all by himself?"
"If you do, you have issues."
lol, that really got me rolling. These guys are so good at this and I'm amazed that everything they're teaching is more psychological than physical. No wonder it works.
yep ...good vid
I think that has to do with their personality. Rener can be somewhat intimidating with his energetic way of doing things. Ryron on the other hand is down right scary. Still amazing either way.
this is just great, and this can apply to more then just BJJ, it kinda reminds me of work when in training, my boss just tells me what to do but never shows me calmly and makes me feel like crap. But yeah I hope most BJJ teachers are like this, what you showed the mistake of teachers where they slam their hand on the matt out of frustration....that is the least I want and it would make me feel stupid and I would never go again, and I am 20.
So enjoyable, love you guys =)
Lou Holtz, former football coach at University of Notre Dame: I don't expect my players to give me 100% every day. I do expect them to give me 100% of what they have every day.
"Do we really expect the child to do everything perfect?
*serious stare* if you do, you have issues" lmao
3:55 sweet funny
i wish these dudes could teach me
amazing stuff i do the same praising with anyone
nice vid gents
Actually... no not at all I'm a trainer at Olathe All Stars Wrestling and Kickboxing in KC and I"m married with 2 lil girls and one on the way. No reason to be jealous of these fellas.
regular parents should be watching this video. wish mine did
I agree with most of what they had to say, it's just the way they go about doing it. Both of their individual deliverance is a little interesting/awkward. Not hatin, just sayin.
Then that makes your immaturity as a full grown man even worse. Instead of trying to insult me you should give an explanation why you disagree with the instructors.
ok i wasnt a fan of the videos that digressed from bjj techniques... but this one is pretty good :)
I don't disagree with em at all!
lol Great!
@likeomgutube sounds like you've put a lot of thought into that fantasy.
I think I'd probably get this video to learn how to raise kids.
Hot sauce mom should take lessons from these chaps
Jealous much?
If you're serious... you must be a female with a crush on these two Indian style sitting blokes.
i feel stupid watching the first 2 min.
1:46 intelligence

Homosexualism lol wat the heck is that? and why is it ranked with drugs anyway?
