Yes, in the USA a "pig in blanket" is a breakfast sausage in pastry, usually biscuit dough. Jimmy Dean pre-cooked sausages plus the biscuit dough that comes in a tube make them very easy to make in quantity. You can put a little jam in there, too. Funny, the Sorted lads were doing global sauces last week & had an American apple sauce on. I thought boil it down to a caramel & use it in an apple tart Tatin. May make a larger batch & do your lovely pigs in blankets & a tart Tatin for pudd. Unroll both cans of the dough; separate into 16 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow triangles. 2 Place sausage on shortest side of each triangle. Roll up each, starting at shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point; place point side down on 2 ungreased cookie sheets. 3 Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown, switching position of cookie sheets halfway through baking. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
