My fire here has poor control, or damper whatever people may call it. So every time i empty out the cold ashes i shovel them out into a steel bucket that always sits beside my fireplace. At night when i'm off to bed, i can shovel some ashes in on top, over the top of the last batch of firewood i used to stoke the fire up with. The ashes serve to damp down the fire, to slow down the burn rate a whole heap. It keeps it burning for ages. Batch stays warm for most of the night. I even use some ashes too, on top of the firewood, in times when the wind gets-up and starts to cause my fire to rage up far to fast. It slows down the amount of air that's getting to the wood. Which slows down the burn Also those Chinese diesel heaters they sell on ebay and elsewhere are ideal for heating a batch up first thing in the morning before you get the fire lit up. You can switch them on by the remote control before you even get out of bed. I didn't bother to have a fire at all last winter . $30 diesel lasted me for a fortnight . So cost me $15 per week . Set up correct they have absolutely no fumes. Takes the chill off the early morning winter blues, a fair bit You got your batch looking homely enough Molly 💞
Once again, you are doing the damn thing Molly 🦾 I had SO MANY extreme highs / lows in my own journey , it’s interesting seeing another woman find her way and dealing with ( some) things out of her control. I believe it will get better ❤️🩹 and you will find more stability ; the main thing is , you are maintaining your inner power, staying true to your path, living, loving, healing ❤️🩹 and growing. I pray our Beloved Creator blesses you in a personal way 🙏🦋🙏 🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥
