I just wanted to upload this video showing the scam I fell for and hopefully you guys watch this or the title when youre in the parking lot doing your quick research haha dont fall for it.. they are very convincing but at the end of the day its a scam.. I got home opened the package and to my surprise the speakers werent real. Its well packaged so it looks believable but its nothing but a speaker box with cement block inside to add weight. Mac Pro Theaters is just what i ran into but im sure these guys hustle under other name brands to keep the scam going..Happened in Paterson NJ Lowes parking lot.. Comment below if you got scammed or ran into them also. just trying to bring some awareness to the community here. - Наука та технологія
Bro! You saved me today! Was leaving H.depot in NJ and they drove towards me and offered me home theater system and a Projector. I offered them $200 and that accepted lol then he put the boxes in my car and then I was like no way $5000 merch could go for $200. So looked up the sound bar on youtube and your video came up before i could pay him and as soon as i saw this I almost punched them in the face when they tried to force sell that crap.
HAAAAA Im glad that worked out for you bro I just hope the more people he approaches the more that people see this pop up on their search results and not buy that crap.. straight up robbing people ..
I hope when people research this, this video is at the top of the list. This same exact situation happened to my brother with the same exact company… same exact pitch. You’re help saving tons of folks from scammers!
Thanks so much for making this. I fell for this scam when I was in college in 2002 and I’ve carried around a ton of shame since then. I felt so stupid and embarrassed and I’ve never told anyone about it. Hearing a normal guy talk about it in a normal way and even laugh about it a little is making me feel some kind of relief after all these years.
It happens to the best of us my friend. just keep moving forward no shame no regrets.. that person needed the money more than you did at that time karma will handle the rest. Cheers
It happened to me in 2002 it's happened to lots of us don't feel bad I bet you never made that mistake again I didn't so money well spent!
Bro I literally just got scammed today with the sound bar haha I got home and said wtf..... I looked it up and saw your video. It made me feel better I wasn't the only one lol
The worst feeling bro.. lmao
It said the speakes where wirless yet under this sitch was input and out put so i goggled wtf and you popped up. Best reveal ever man 😂
I fell for this too. I thought he stole them or something. I'm embarrassed, as a techy guy that's been doing hardware selling and buying for years. My greed got me and now I have a useless soundbar for $120
Thanks for the video OP. I really wish I googled the name prior. Man's got me in a Walmart parking lot too.
@@xamedix yeah man.. i did the same lmao
It’s funny that this is still going on. I sold speakers/home theaters from 1997-2012. I started off working for a company ,Soundlabs/Global Audio, which I got to travel the world and do this in my late teens and twenties. I lived everywhere you could think of from Tokyo,Hong Kong,Singapore,Amsterdam,Norway,Sweden,London,Montreal,Capetown South Africa,Germany,France, Italy and so many states in the US. After about 5 years of traveling I quit working for the company and did it on my own. I made so much money doing it. I was making thousands a week ALL CASH. My best day I made $5,700 in about 3-4 hours. It was fun and a great stepping stone. When smartphones came out and people had access to information at their fingertips it was time for me to retire from this gig. When I worked solo I had either my Range Rover,Porsche Cayenne,Escalade that I sold out of. I didn’t use the “I’m a installer pitch “. I would have a collared polo shirt on and I told people that I was the owner and I had business cards and a invoice with the actual bullshit prices on it. I didn’t have the cars I mentioned all at the same time. I would have a SUV to work out of but I also had a sedan like a C or E class Benz,I had a Cadillac STS ,Acura TL,Lexus ISF at different times to drive after work and on weekends because I would put a lot of miles on the suv selling equipment. I made a ton of money and it was fun for a while. It’s definitely not a career but to made some big money quickly it was perfect for that. But I can’t believe that they are still doing this. STFO!!!
This started in Chicago in 1977 with two brothers selling brand new pots and pans for their van. One day they went to the warehouse to load up on pots and pans but they were out. The guy told them that they have speakers,3 ways,if they wanted to try selling them. They loaded up a few sets and had the best day they ever had selling from their van. That’s how the speaker scam started 45 years ago. I just can’t believe that people are still selling boxes in 2023. It blows my mind a little bit. Crazy lol
Appreciate you sharing-- I'm sure you're saving a lot of people. Now I know why a former renter left this system behind!
Bro! You just described the “white van” i had just encountered. Dude literally had multiple projector screens, multiple surround sound entertainment systems, bar surround sounds all under the brand name of “ENIGMA”. He also had a “proshot ps5” which was put on top of the “enigma 550x bar sound” all for the total of $140.
The bar did have sound and the proshot was in functioning condition but did not include the SD card. The bar sound had super low quality sound. I mean, the purchase was definitely a scam, but luckily it was in working condition. Holy fuck! Lesson learned for sure! All i gota say is becareful out there because theyre crazy MF out there
Jus got scammed rn too 🤦🏽♂️ dude had like 4 of them talking about his dad is a sports bar contractor and that he had them left over
Thanksfor this video.
My fiance bought one and wanted me to see how much they were online it just so happens your video pops up. We opened it up and it looks like high quality item. Except that one speaker was fake.
No power hook up. Only connect with speaker wire. It wasn't packaged good had some picture of box and warranty card also some power cord. Bought from a TA truck stop Maryland...
Sorry to hear.. hope it didnt cost you guys too much
Got me a while ago, outside a wells Fargo, I wish I had looked it up, I woulda seen this video immediately, but I guess I had to learn the hard way. If it's too good to be true, it probably is! Thanks for taking it apart for me so I didn't waste more money on an Amp or something.
Don’t feel bad. I was at Best Buy picking up my AirPods from geek squad. Got me before I walked in. Tried me for $400, got him down for $175 so I’m not to upset about the situation. Stay safe out here folks
Brooooo I got got today tooooo I’m dying laughing at your video I got the projector 2 sound bars and the home theater speaker system all for $500 same exact script at a gas station 😅😂
lmao just laugh it off bro thats all you can do at this point...
Stop calling people BRO
They got my dad at his own business today. NJ as well. Glad we found your video so we knew for sure that it was fake. Really sucks. We have security video of the whole interaction and license plate, so maybe we can get some of these people caught.
Man I got on here to see how to turn it on now piss off. I have the same one lol.
Not illegal
They got my uncle in Indy, he got the "ATMOS" surround sound and the subwoofer has no power switch just the red and black wire connections.
It’s hard to admit you got scammed. Thank you.
You prevented it from happening to me.
Omg I bought same one too in Washington DC in parking lot $150 paid
Thank you for sharing info
Ah man a moment of silence for our 150 bucks hahaha
that happened to me about an hour ago he😭😭😭 5 speakers empty only one HDM cable and the biggest speaker has only 2 heavy black blocks with glue 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I got scammed in this about a thousand box in Virginia coming from Costco Wholesale around the parking lot. I feel stupid watching this video. But we learn and grow. It's painful 😢
Wow they cashed out big time with you man.. sorry this happened to you..
A guy I know has the 27hdr macpro and he is trying to sell it to me because he moving. He has never opened it so can't blame him because he doesn't know it's junk. It's funny because he keeps saying how the MSRP is 2100 and he only wants 275. He's a good friend and he is just oblivious. Glad I watched the video because I almost am gonna buy it.
They also got me outside home depot 6 months ago! thanks to share!
You saved my whole shop from getting ripped off
LETS GOOOO lol
Damn got me too! Years ago - I didn’t even try knew once I opened the box. Haven’t even tried the projector how did that work out?
Well the projector works but it isnt no 4k projector 😂 its more like those projectors they had in school for presentations feels extremely cheap too lol
Omg LOL! That was hilarious hahahaha. Def lesson learned 😂😂😂. Never to buy parking lot products of any kinds 😅.
Tell me about it!!! Lmao
He’s a fucking idiot. When it sounds to good to be true it normally is. Fucking dumbassss
Thank you for posting this. It did NOT save me unfortunately but hopefully it will prevent some others from getting ripped off. They got me yesterday at Lowes in San Antonio TX, Gave me the EXACT same story with the boss and everything. DUDE, The code on the box actually scans to a website for Mac Pro. He told me it was part of Macintosh and I was "Oh, Hell, MAC? Gotta be legit!" lol. They go through SOOO much trouble not to have to work that they are actually working harded than they would at a real job.
Its insane .. they should just apply to be salesman at a car dealership or sell mattresses im sure they’d make the same amount of commission and it’d be legit..
I ran across some guys in louisiana today with the same scam , it was a little to good to be true , so I didn't buy it ....
@@slayjmouton175 The reason I bought mine was because I, as a working man, HAVE been in situations where I had a SURPLUS of product and was willing to sell at an incredible discount JUST to get it off my hands so that idea was not so far fetched.
@@RockoOmazing look I did this for 15 years from 1997-2012. There is no way you are making anywhere close to the amount of money selling what you mentioned. I was making thousands a week. My best day was $5,700 and I had a lot of $10,000 weeks in those 15 years. This was all CASH as well. I made a ton of money. I sold out of my Range Rover, then I bought a Porsche Cayenne, then I had a Escalade or maybe I had the Cadi in between. I can’t remember it was so long ago. I also had a sedan usually like a E-Class Mercedes Benz,Cadillac STS,Acura TL or a Lexus ISF that I would drive after work and on the weekends because I would put a lot of miles on the SUV’s that I sold these systems out off. I would get a new suv every two years because I would put 100,000 + miles on them in that time. I would not always buy a brand new suv because they were a lot cheaper if they were a year old, certified pre-owned. It just depended on the deal I got on them. They were write-offs anyway because I used them for business. But for a guy who was in his late teens and my twenties I was doing pretty damn well. My buddies who graduated college were paying off their student loans while working jobs that paid $600-$750/week with their degrees at 23 years old while I always had $2-$4K in my pocket and driving around in either a luxury suv or luxury sedan. Like I said I did it for 15 years and when I “retired” from doing it I took a whole year off and decided what I wanted to do next. I wanted to find something that was a career and I could make about the same money which I eventually did with advertising. But I learned so much about people and sale’s doing that gig. Plus as I got older my conscience started getting to me and I would turn down sales from people who said that they were struggling and that’s when I knew that I was done. I made my money and it was time to get out.

Dang! I'm sorry that happened. I dislike scammers very much! Ugh
hi i got scam today on long island $400 …. i hot the feeling that something was no right and took picture of the guys and plate number for the van… I will report them to the police
From what I've read most of them use rented or leased vehicles in fake names to hide their identity. Don't know how they manage to do it but this is definitely the most sophisticated scam I've ever seen.
It's just being dumb that's embarrassing but what they're doing is not illegal
A novice electronics thrifter, just picked one up in box at Goodwill, at least I'll get my $15 back - I'm beside myself in this situation esp as its not even a "true good to be true situation" haha
They got me in TX, too and I was just about to try and sell this to the pawn shop because I was not about to pay 15K for an amp. Now I will just dump it in the trash and chalk it up to a lesson learned smh😄😄. Thanks for sharing!!
Sorry I'm late but am amp isn't 15k
Got this last year at a gas station. Held onto it until now wanting to sell it because never used. Can’t even sell after seeing this video. 😅
Happened to me in Port Richey, FL in the Walmart Super Center parking lot, I got the 27-HDR home theater system. Guy said something about an inventory error, the back of his vehicle was full of them. I am a huge Apple fan and seen the "Mac Pro" branding so, even though I knew it wasn't Apple I figured it was related and of similar quality. Plus he showed me the price on the side and said he would take $400 for it, I got him down to $120. I was on my way to go camping so it sat in my vehicle for a few days, I ended up looking it up before opening the box and seen all these articles and videos about it being a scam, I still haven't even opened it and am wondering what to do with it now. I don't want to put it on eBay because if its crap and doesn't work I can get in trouble. I spent my last money on the damn thing too, I will say this is by far the best scam I've ever seen, I'm a computer tech and can usually recognize any kind of tech related scam in a heartbeat but this one flew right by me.This was clearly done by a professional scammer or scammer group.
Whats crazy to me is that this is a nation wide operation lol like these things are being manufactured somewhere for the low and scammers nationwide are just tryna sell as many as they can everywhere.. using the same script..
@@RockoOmazing I hear its actually worldwide not nationwide, pretty amazing but I certainly learned my lesson.
lmao just walked out of a parking lot with the exact same story. god damnt. paid $150 tho
The second speaker is called a passive radiator technically but just used in a hilarious manner.
good to know lol
Just happened to me in Temecula, CA a few hours ago. Nice newer black toyota 4runner with 2 white males. Brand name was EVO. All they had was sound bars. They tried real hard, but what they didnt know is that i fell for this same scam back in high school 30 years ago. White van in Illinois got me for $300 back in the day. They had brochures (pre internet) and all kinds of sales pamphlets. Definitely sucks once you find out you've been scammed. I ended up trading it all for a Q of weed to my dealer back in the day. But with age comes knowledge and experience. I told them to fuck off this time around. Hopefully people wise up to this scam. Worst part is there is nothing technically illegal about what they're doing.
just got hit by this today expect they rebranded amd now are called Atmos
Thanks for sharing.. im sure they seen this video and had to switch up lol too easy to find on youtube gonna have to add that to tags
I jus get scammed like 13 minutes ago thats why im here 🤣🤦♂️
Welcome to the club! 😂😂😂
glad i only paid $100 and nothing more for the sound bar lmao, the guy asked me in a walmart parking lot and it was an ambeo ab11 and i was sold bc it looked nice.
A friend bought multiple surround systems
Gonna send this to him
I tried finding them online but couldn’t find NOTHING. I thought that ODD
Sorry for ya loss
I bought mine for $5 at my auction. While searching how to hook it up, I found this video. LOL Glad I didn't spend a bunch of money 😂 Gypsy's are freaking clever...
He got hit wit brakes I bet heads up bro if it doesn't have any weight on it nine times out of 10 it isn't real
Some guy just came up to me in a gas station parking lot and tried to sell it to me, he said he’d take 300… I was like, no way anyone would take 300 for something worth 2000
Lol thankfully you didnt fall for it
feeling the pain my guy - my dad got this exact one - had at his house for a month - he couldnt find the chord so didnt look into it. so i asked if i could have it.. saw the QR code and figured i could get the chords online and check amazon - but i opened the box first and saw the old school amp wiring connections. no hdmi or power chord. found your video. smh. believe im smacking the guy that approaches me in a parking lot. ill film it too.
Sorry your pops fell for it, Karma will end up getting them sooner or later
On the bright side, you now own the most expensive USB cable on earth.
Lmao indeed..
Happend to me 1 hour ago but i did not fell for it lol the guy said he bought 2 and the store loaded 4 of em so he just wanted $400. I said give me you phone number so i can ask my wife when i get home but he was like don't ask your wife come on he was very insistent and willing to sell it cheaper. Guy was good at selling but I'm a contractor so I've seen a lot of people trying to scam so nope i was outside of a sherwin-williams in san antonio tx
I got scammed the same way you did with projector and sound bar... I'm just learning I got scammed I put it in the corner of my basement until I was ready to use haven't unboxed it yet 😮😂
same... where at? motherfuckers.
Bro that’s crazy LMAOO tht just happened to me but it’s alright everyone gets their blessings different so I hope they enjoy those 150 tht I have then LMAOO

I got scammed 400 lol. For a surround sound system. No way to connect unless with amp. Came with HDMI cable lol.
Got me for a 100.00 10 mins ago lol😂 they upgraded the look I knew it wasn’t rite he dropped down from 600.00 to 100.00 that’s funny
Your first and biggest warning was the name of the product, “Mac Pro Theaters” from some random on the streets in a van.
Man I was hoping this wasn’t true I brought this damn speaker like last year when I went to Texas. I paid like $175 for this thing 😂😂. Just came across your video and was like nah this can’t be the same thing. I just opened the speaker after watching your video and it has two weights just like yours in mines too 😂lol 😂😂😂. I’ve been holding this thing to get connections for it for nothing
Damn I was hoping you were wrong!!😂😂😂😂
I got scammed yesterday he was talking about he works at bestbuy and that he has to show his boss that the customers bought it and he had a book from best buy so he had in his suv all these home theaters and Samsung 4k UHD so I thought he was legit I was at a gas station parking lot and he asked for 1,500 I said no I can't just 100 and then he said 130 so I said ok then he put it in the car and left like in a hurry so I was thinking to myself so when I opened the package it looked the same as your package and came with a hdmi cable that has nowhere to plug it in no wires nothing and two speakers have no brand name but the others do and when I opened one the wires aren't even connected and has this piece of cement inside
Even your jbl speakers are day and night better then the scammer speaker 😂😂
How embarrassing 😂😂😂
@@RockoOmazing literally I couldn’t stop laughing so hard when you took the speaker apart and they used one speaker but not two you basically would get a Mono sound not stereo. These JbL’s would simply smack those speakers upside its head 🤣🤣
