- This a take of my personal experience with these so called "white van scammers", I felt obligated to do my part to spread awareness about this scheme. This scam blows my mind because its been around for decades yet not too many people know about it, thus this scam claims countless victims a year. The best defense against scams like this is the awareness and knowledge that they exist. Fair warning none of the clips featured in this video of the scams actually taking place are my own, and have included links to the full videos down below. Enjoy!

Never buy anything from the back of a van, except fish.
Speaking from personal experience are we??😂
@@krazykris1444how you discovered Ottawalks Kris
@@krazykris1444lol😂
One time I bought a bunch of mushrooms from the back of a van on Walmart parking lot. It was these country folk with a combined 5 teeth between the 4 of them. They were morels and they were spectacular! I always looked for them, but haven't seen them since.
Aw good on you for sharing the slight embarrassment to warn/help others, and doing a giveaway is really sweet!
Thank you!! 😊
the embarrassing part is that he fell for this in the year 2022 🤣🤣🤣
One of the oldest tricks in the book 😂
I'm so suspicious now my first instinct is always scam
Currently watching this on my $6000 projector I got for $500 😢
I was also in the gta outside a Boston pizza they said everything exactly the same. I however do not have disposable income feeling like a gullible piece of shit but learned a lesson
Same type of scam as the "surround sound" they used to fill with cement to make them seem like good heavy speakers.
Garret Claridge goes into quite a lot of detail with the cement and exactly what the speakers are capable of (which isn't a lot) and ends up blowing them out. I'll provide the link just in case anyone wants to check out his vid 👇

A hard lesson to learn. You seem young, luckily you only have to learn this once
As the saying goes: “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! “
@@krazykris1444 do you watch Ottawalks before the Trucker Convoy when is the first time you heard Ottawalks I’m from Ottawa I like his walking tours of Ottawa before the Trucker Convoy started last year
You're a good man.
Always be weary of the quick sales pitch
I just got scammed also.. I found your video too late but you are right about the pressure sales..everything happened so fast
My brother fell for this kind of scam about 40 years ago. Back then it was speakers. When we hooked them up they sounded like the world’s lousiest transistor radio. Lesson learned…
Wow these guys are good. I would never have suspected a BLACK van!!
Sometimes the UA-cam algorithm actually does its job and delivers good content. Good video and good explanation. Lots of people know about common scams online or over the phone, but they may forget that these old-school scams still happen in person every day
Appreciate it Bucket!
@@krazykris1444you live in Toronto right? Like Jeff Lepard
@@krazykris1444I have a question did you watch Ottawalks before the Convoy when did you discovered his Channel
@@krazykris1444my name is Philip Quintong I’m from Ottawa I watched your during the Convoy have you been in Ottawa before the Convoy or is it during the Convoy Ottawa is great city
That’s how I bought some big ass floor speakers around 30 years ago. They were great speakers though!
Alain...are you sure they weren't just full of cement??😂😂
Ya, I remember the big-a*s home speakers( the "we ordered six, but they gave us six pairs") , lol! .
The quality is hit and miss as far as the products go.
My cousin was scammed with the speakers (back in the day) and he was happy with them as long as he didn't ride them heard.
My brother in law was also scammed with with the speakers, but everything on his speaker box was just hot glued together, and they even glued scrap metal inside the box to give it more substance, lol.
A different brother in law was scammed with a crappy projector, besides the horrible resolution, when the bulb went out, he never found a replacement.
so you never know just how bad you're gonna get scammed.

@@krazykris1444 no it doesn't
@@cameron6249it does … Your ignorance & arrogance will get you one day… or you just another liar & a hypocrite…
have seen a handful of "surround sound stereos" at thrift that likely came from similar.....half wish I encountered one knowing what they are
Sorry you fell for that old scam... back in the days, could be a set of hi-end speakers that fell off the truck... too lazy to bring back to shop... boxes with bricks (LOL). Always happens in a busy parking lot during lunch time or holiday shopping. If it's too good to be true, it's a scam or fake!
Why would u trust someone pulling up in a van n then asking you to go to an ATM for more money XD
I didn't celebrate Christmas. I don't have extra money to get people gifts or even a birthday card. Now, if they would have been selling notebook paper (the type you write on) for about ten cents per notebook I would have bought a few because I always can use paper products, especially spiral notebooks. 😂❤👍
Some of us have zero disposable money and are happy if we can even buy a carton of eggs let alone some television set.
Besides that, it is always better to deal directly with retail stores, not some shady operation out of a van. You get warranties from stores as well as a money back guarantee at most establishments.
The old addage still holds true to this day. If it sounds too good to be true then it is without a doubt.
That sinking feeling when you know you typed it right but Google's like 😶❓
😂😂 it’s funny because that’s exactly what happened!
Why would you buy something out of a truck you never saw before. I'd think stolen goods and keep walking.
In 1990s, My friend owned a store and he thought he'd save some money, and make more money because he bought these deal goods. It turned out the digital camera was basically a shell that didn't work. Maybe they were defective or maybe they were fake.
The truck guy had nerve to call you and ask for more money.
I'm glad your item worked and it's nice your giving it away.
2:42 ... because of people like you we're gonna be stuck with CBDC as if 900$ was something huge to carry
Dear me.....
HAHAHA....If it sounds too good to be true......it probably is....
But, a good life lesson learned....right?
You got that right! Next time I gotta ask for the projector, AND the speakers😂
thats so sweet.
The year was 1997, the place The Netherlands Two guy's in a white fan standing still on a emergency lane of a highway. We offer to help them getting on there way. Then the story starts about high-end speakers they only ordered 10 but they gave them 14. A nice brochure showed us very expansive speakers with the paramount logos on them. The brand? Omi-audio.
The sorry as you told here is almost a word for word copy of what happened that evening. And because you are curious, yes my friend bought a pair.
They sounded like a chicken coop with drivers in them.
Wow that’s really interesting. I’m kind of surprised they use the same line over and over for decades on end and don’t come up with anything original. Although I suppose it makes no sense to fix something that isn’t broken 🤔
