I find them very difficult too in my climate. I agree with you that they do not like hot and dry conditions. I always keep restarting mine every year. 😄 But their flowers are very interesting.
Hi Marija, you have a beautiful collection of stapelias, huernias, etc. I like very much your new huernia pillansii. Also I think that the plant around 16.50 could be a caralluma hesperidum. It’s a gorgeous plant. I just have one stapelia grandiflora now for two years and I check it every week for millybug 🤣 and I am lucky for the moment. It is still small and it never bloomed yet. Thank you for your tips ! 🌵🌵🌵💚💚💚💚
For mealy bug CURE, get some food grade diatomaceous earth. Then get a soft small artist brush and paint the mealies with the dry powder. It will work like a miracle. It did for me.
Thank you for the video. I decided to water weekly so those poor roots won't dry out. But unlike you I check my plant daily 😅. I'm literally desperate for it to survive
Another question, some of the stems on my Stapelia feel soft, I use a moisture meter and I can tell the roots seem moist. Perhaps soft stems are a sign of root rot? 😕 Yes, I'm struggling to keep this plant happy indoors.

😄 daily may be what they need! Mealy bug magnets! Hope it gets established and grow well for you!
Do you ever put diatomaceous earth mixed in soil to prevent mealy bugs?
Plant you don't know ID of is stapelianthus decaryi.
Will mealybug eggs or larvae get killed off using Mosquito Bits?
No, I don’t think they are fit mealy bug treatment.
@@succulentlivingbymarija8872 the tips of my stapelia are at times dried, shriveled. Does that mean I'm not watering enough?
@@christinaeilers3562 yes, that would be sign of under watering.
