Good video. A couple of concerns though. First you were concerned about scratching up the stock while you had the weight of the gun pushing the scope into the table. Probably would be a good idea to remove the scope. Second, you mentioned that the receiver is aluminum and to not mess it up. Probably isn't a good idea to lay the side of the receiver across the the trigger assembly while you hammer out the buffer. They make jigs for that. I use a roll of tape, works well.
There is always an Asshole that watches a DIY Video, then needs to correct the instructions. That makes the stupid feel smart.
Best 10/22 video on assembly and disassembly
I concur.
Sometimes it is fun to take things apart and then put them back together. I had my share of learning experiences with the 10/22. Glad the video was helpful.
Thanks for the vid! I followed it step by step when I did a takedown of my son's 10/22. First timer here! Proud of myself! I did have a little trouble getting the bolt to seat back in with the recoil spring assembly, but I remained persistent and finally got back together! You made it look so easy! Thanks again! Very helpful!
It doesn't look like you do many videos anymore. I appreciated this one, I couldn't figure it out, until you said to mess with the safety button. That did the trick! Thanks!
Great video. I appreciate the well lit close up of the extractor and the barrel connection. Helps to see what you meant.
Very well done. One of the best Firearm tutorials I've seen. Great quality and information. Much appreciated
I'm currently doing a build for a Ruger 10/22 with a underfolder MWB stock, AMD 63 pistol grip, Green Mountain finned barrel, Williams rear sight, and BX-Trigger. New to 10/22 dissasembly and amateur gunsmithing and this really helped. Thank you so much for posting a detailed video.
Thank you for an excellent video.
I had problems with my bolt not going back, thus rendering the rifle inoperable, and this video gave me the courage to disassemble the trigger/bolt assembly and try to figure out the problem.
Actually the problem was very simple, and nothing to do with the trigger/bolt assembly. I'd taken off the scope mounting rail, put the rail screws back in to fill the holes, and they were protruding inside and fouling the bolt.
Once I'd eliminated the other possibilities through disassembling while watching this video the answer came to me, but now I know a lot more about the inside of the 10/22.
Great video! Very detailed and I like that you note the tools specifically and the time stamp at the beginning is excellent.
I watched several videos on dismantling a 10-22. By far, your video was the simplest and easiest to understand and follow. Great job.
Very good video, especially showing how the extractor fits into the barrel slot.
Thank you, great video. I'm getting my Ruger 1022 this week and now I know how to disassembly-assembly it. Thanks to you...!
One of the best videos I've seen on takedown and reassembling a 10/22. Thanks
Thanks a lot. I just ordered a new extractor and spring for mine, after I watched your video and another video on changing the extractor I feel confident that I can do it.
Nice detailed description, thx! Been fascinated with the 'modular' design of these and looking to install one into a 3D printed chassis.
Thank you for taking the time to post
Greatly appreciated
This videos is awesome! I just cleaned my and grandfather's 10/22 and the hardest time I had was putting back the charging handle and the bolt. I guess it takes a little more fidgeting with it.
Great video. Thank you for posting. Professionally done and expertly explained.
Excellent video, very informative. One of the best on the 10/22 I have seen.
Amazing video. Thanks for taking the time to make such a detailed vid
Thanksy for making a great video. I am glad i am not the only one that has to play around to get the slide back in...it can be a battle..
Excellent video. I've seen several of these videos but they never mentioned lining up the barrel and the extractor. Thanks.
Great video. Very clear instruction and demonstration.
Great vid, used it to clean and disassemble my NEW 10/22. As for some comments below. My barrel was hard to remove the first time and used a rubber malot which worked fine.
Awesome video, I was able to do my entire receiver swap thanks to you.

Excellent video. Just took mine apart to SBR it upon getting my tax stamp back.
Great Vid. Absolutely solved my problem..
awesome video this will really help when i get my 10/22
Hey thank you so much for doing this. I do have to say u did a very good job
Thank u so much that is really helping with our Gun
This was a great video thanks!
Thank you, awesome video. Helped a lot :)
If you check around on the net you can find a tool that will really help in installing the bolt. It is nothing more than a thin strip of metal bent to hold the charging handle in the correct position to install the bolt. You can also make your own out of some thin aluminum sheet metal like I did. It's not a required tool but it sure makes reassembling a lot easier.
Thanks for the very detailed video!! I'm going to get a Tactical Solutions barrel and didnt realize I have to line up barrel to extractor... I'm a noob....
Thanks for the advice. You did blow my mind after I saw the beautiful buffing on the slide and you didn;t have any cushion protecting you rifle. However, I about fell backwards in my chair when I saw you use you receiever as a pounding lift. Just a suggestion: a roll of tape works much better and it isn't polished metal on polished metal (or aluminum). Just a thought-ty for the vide
Good film, going to do this as home soon.
I really appreciate your video very well done, thank you. Just shot my 10/22 today, horrible accuracy. I watched your video in anticipation of changing barrel. I was lucky to keep 10 rds in a 9" paper plate @ 70 yds. I just bought a savage axis .223, after break in it shoots inside a dime @ 70 yards with reloads.
40 grain projectile @ 1400fps vs 55 grain projectile @ 3000fps….No wonder!!
Great video! Clear and brief!!
Good to hear. The bolt can be a real bear, I sometimes use a screwdriver. Thanks for the comment.
Excellent video.
Great video! Thanks for the info.
The ejector position always gets me!
Best video made it look nice and simple
Very good video. Thanks.
Nice clear and helpfull instruction video.
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks you saved me a big headache.
Great video well detailed and understandable
Thank you so much for this video, I use my 10/22 to knock out a goat, bleed it out and butcher it, and 2 days ago I managed to forget it outside like a complete idiot, and it got filled with water thanks to a couple downpours in the past 2 days... Had to take it apart completely so that I could clean everything and re-oil it so that it doesn't rust, so again, I thank you very much for this video.
Thank you for this video!!
Awesome video.
Thanks for the informative video
I can't believe it took me this long to buy this rifle. I reload 9mm and the price of primers really got me thinking of a solution for the wife to shoot and not break the bank. Well this and the Sig p322 is what you get. She is very happy and so am I. We shoot every weekend and those 9mm reloads that I make add up when primers now are .14 cents a pop. I went from .14 cents a round to .25 cents. And that's with free brass I collect.
very helpful, thanks
Thanks from Thailand
Perfect! Thank you!
hi, really nice and simple video, great great info. thanks for sharing.
Your awesome bro, THANK MAN! Keep em coming bro.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Great video, used it to clean my *New (used) 1022. BOY oh boy was she dirty. Awesome video and i will be checking what else you have.
Yes, it is a pistol scope. There is a scope rail mounted to the barrel to allow the "scout rifle" setup. I added a link to my 10/22 video playlist to the description of this video. The last video on that playlist details the setup, if you were interested.
Damm that's one tricked out 10 22! Nice!
very nice work thanks
Great Video!!Thanks
Right on. I'll have to look for the tool. Thank you!
For a second I thought that the secondary extractor was part of the bolt locking mechanism and placed it in the wrong spot, got it a bit scratched. Thanks for the video.
Great video, will done.
Thanks very useful. 😊
Thank you, that was very well done sir
