Man....I cannot even begin to say THANK YOU enough for the VERY EASY TO FOLLOW....STEP BY STEP instructions on how to easily reassemble my 10/22 trigger group after installing my new set of Wolff springs because there was absolutely NO instructions whatsoever included in the spring kit I ordered for my new Ruger 10/22 target rifle. Not to mention my ol' lady told me there was NO WAY I would have it all be together and ready to shoot tomorrow so I guess I will be serving her up some "CROW PIE" for breakfast!!! LMAO!! Thanks again and I cannot wait to see just how much the new spring set improved my trigger tomorrow. I cannot wait to check out any of your other vids now. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK AND TANKS AGAIN!!!

This is one of the most professional instruction lessons I've seen. You've rehearsed your work and didn't have to make excuses of poor (fill in the blank) like many of the other tubers. You also kept the view clear so there were no hidden places that we would have to look elsewhere for the mysterious "just like that, but your hands were in the way so that didn't help"... I hope other posters who are trying to help the rest of us take note of your excellent work, thanks!

I'd never take apart my trigger assembly, if it hadn't been for (as I noticed afterwards) a rotated safety. So I took it apart with your video, understood how it all worked and what must be wrong, and now it's all fine AND I know how to do this. Thanks a lot, your video has been very helpful!

I was cleaning my Ruger for the first time and unknowingly while pulling the trigger assembly from the upper receiver tipped it on the side knocking all the pins holding every thing together. I cant explain how happy i am about this video. I was so frustrated and you literally saved me so much heart ache. That pro tip about the bolt catch release spring needing to be bent behind the pin in order to function properly was the step i was missing. My bolt would lock to the rear but because the bolt release was not under proper spring tension it would not release. I just about given up but you came and saved the day. Thank you for this video it is the best on youtube.

I know this is an old video, but it's been a WHILE since I had to disassemble my 10/22 trigger group. Thanks for this video...and just as a tip to anyone looking for something else to use as a slave pin for the trigger, I used a short piece of an old plastic ink pen tube. Cut to length, and was the perfect diameter for this. I'm sure there are other options, but this might help someone down the road.

P.S.: You may find that your safety rotates when you disassemble the trigger mechanism. This makes it impossible to replace the hammer properly (because the safety is then permanently on, even if you push it off.). If this happens, simply take pliers (needle nose if possible), push the safety to the off/firing position. and use the pliers to rotate the safety back to where the flat cutout potion is facing up, allowing the sear to move all the way down. (You will hear the safety plunger click when it's back in the proper position.) This will then allow you to replace the hammer and insert the hammer spring.

  • @anthonyhannan2955

Adding myself to the list of people thanking you, this was a crystal clear assembly video. I accidentally rotated my safety, and there's a sealed spring and pin below the safety requiring complete disassembly of the trigger mechanism to get to. Once I got down to it, it was just pressure from a paper clip on the pin to rotate the safety back in place I would have never gotten this back together without the video, thanks!

Your video was a big help. Last week I took my new Ruger 10 22 Takedown to the range and put about 180 rounds through it. When I got home I field stripped it for cleaning. I put the trigger group aside but a couple of pins fell out and several parts came out soon after. I had no clue as to how to put it back together. I found your video and with the help of that I was able to assemble the trigger group without any problems. Thank you very much!

This video is a lifesaver. Had my 10/22 disassembled to clean after taking it to the range today and decided to look around the trigger assembly. Needless to say, I snapped the trigger when I shouldn't have, and with the pins always being so loose, the parts went flying. Timeless info that is very well presented! Using the silver receiver makes the orientation of parts clearer too. As others have mentioned, you can make a short "slave" pin to hold the trigger and sear together out of a a Q tip or round toothpick. Well worth the effort.

Thanks for this! I wasn't planning on taking the trigger group apart, just removing the whole group to switch barrels. But when I reassembled the rifle didn't function. After watching this and taking the trigger group apart I found that somehow the safety switch had rotated so the flat part was down instead of up, with the effect that it was basically on safe regardless of the switch position. turned it around, reassembled (which I'd have had *no* chance of doing without this video) and everything works again. If anybody reading this has the same problem, no need to remove the safety, or the seer and trigger for that matter...just get the hammer out, grab the safety with some needlenose pliers and rotate it to the right spot, then reassemble from there.
    Anyway, thanks again, huge help!

SUPERB video!!! Thank you so very much! I am a noob to 10/22 but do lots of other stuff so I was more adventurous than learned RE the trigger group on my new 10/22. So, flipping that little spring forward as you mentioned was the KEY to getting this thing back correctly- should've seen it, but I'm glad I found your vid. Thanks for the info about the slave pin too- that'll be helpful next time!

Vid was very well done. Congrats. Years ago I always had the same trouble and I started using a piece of a toothpick to
    keep them together.

Joe Stackhouse That works. Any something easy to find, too.
