Yeah, multi-tier casting doesn't always work. I think it's a good realization of cast time reducing through combos though, makes throwing a spell into the mix pretty viable.

Are there any solo battle like in tales of zestiria where you have to use certain character to clear certain special dungeon? Honestly, this is the only thing that motivate me to actually learn other character mechanic especially magician. I love using rokurou tho, i tried eleanor but since she doesn't have any stun arte, she's a bit hard to use because lack of damage.
in the story at least (aside from the first area, there are only two moments where you are forced into a solo battle, one with Velvet and one with Rokurou

There are no solo battles as far as I know.
