Berseria had one of the, if not the, best party dynamic and interactions. everyone met by mere chance and yet they work together so well: Velvet acting in the mother/big sister role, Rokurou acting as the supportive, laidback older brother, Laphicet being the adorable little brother figure that was just trying to learn about the world, Eizen being the mentor/teacher and basically father figure to the entire group, Magilou breathing a fresh, quirky air w/ her silly antics, and Eleanor being the kind-hearted, supportive sister. Velvet, Eleanor and Laphicet having a cute brother-sister(s) dynamic was adorable, Rokurou and Eizen bromance/rivalry was hilarious, watching everyone (particularly Velvet, Rokurou and Eizen) help Laphicet learn what it means to live, and the party's general reaction to Magilou's shenanigans were all always a treat to witness. everything about this party was pure perfection imo and i loved every second of it
This is why beseria for me it's the best tales game cause a lot of other stuff is interchangeable but the group chemistry is imo most important. It's near perfect. Even the dry Eleanor fits perfectly amd isn't cringe.
@bankai7623 exactly! for me, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Berseria and Tales of Crestoria (r.i.p Crestoria 🥲) had such interesting character/party dynamics, excellent plot and important themes which makes them the best Tales games in my eyes. maybe i'm just biased because i only ever played those 3, Symphonia, and started on Vesperia and Zestiria and didnt complete either (former because i just got busy and the latter because it pissed me off for multiple reasons), but those 3 touched me in such a way that Symphonia, Vesperia and Zestiria had not and it's doubtful the other Tales games (if, besides Arise because that is available to me, i ever get to play them) will have such an influence on me as Abyss, Berseria and Crestoria has. all 3 of these games were a powerful experience for me and it broke my heart when Crestoria was shutdown before the story was completed (fingers crossed the manga series isnt canceled because Crestoria's story deserves to see the light of day!)
@Mariewolf_94 appreciate your opinion and post but I disagree with abyss being better then symphonia or vesperia. Those games characters amd parties were much better . Abyss had anise ,ion and natialia that were legit worthless. The game is better when you look at it through Luke's eyes only as the story was well done but I felt the game could of just like say ff16. Also vesperia was the one game where the storyline was perfectly paced and didn't fet out of hand until late game. Of course all of them are still good even tho zestria is a little sus. Tho I wish the older games get a remaster .
@bankai7623 itd be really nice if they had a collector's edition of every released Tales game, whether that also included JP exclusive ones or otherwise, and remastered all of them. for example, idk if youre a Sonic fan but they had a collection of classic Sonic games, remastered and repurposed, for, iirc, the GameCube way back when. so like every classic Sonic game pre-next gen (Sonic Adventure/DX onward) was all cataloged and playable for future generation kids to play. it was pretty cool and fun, i played it myself. something like that would be cool for Tales games for Switch/Lite/OLED/2(?), PS5 and Xbox X/S...or whatever lol. we got remastered Symphonia, just gotta reintroduce the old PS1 games to the new generation of Tales fans

Okay so laphicet is the sweet little boy trying to learn everything he can, Eleanor is a mix of a big sister and the girl next door. Velvet is the mom who's had a hard knocks life, making it hard for her to be emotional. Rokuro is the strange and some what goofy dad that does his best. Eizen is the laid back uncle that rivals rokuro and magilou is what grunkle Stan would be if he was a wizard with boobs, does this sound about right?
It's more they're joking about taking it literally, when he says "This" they are assuming it's a certain area, that's why Eleanor says "So here to hear is the Rangetsu style?"
It's a shame they skimped out on the victory quotes in favor of more dialogue elsewhere (especially some skits). Berseria's cast, as a whole, is definitely one of the best in the series. It would have been great to get a lot more victory quotes.
The 54th Deadline - Nhan Pham theyre like the most diverse cast I've seen in a game. A Therion (Velvet) A Daemon (Rokurou) A Malak (Laphicet) A Cursed Pirate Malak (Eizen) A Witch (Magilou) and An Exorcist (Eleanor). These are all people you would think would never team up and yet they managed to come across one another. Almost as diverse as the cast of Xillia.

Why don't the kids of this franchise get their own crossover?! I'd kill to see interactions between Laphicet, Genis Sage from Symphonia, Sophie from Graces, Mao from Rebirth, Patty and Karol from Vesperia, Elize from Xillia/Xillia 2, and Edna from Berseria! Unlike their respective games sword weilding protagonists, they are all distinct in playstyles and weaponry to the point that they could totally hold their own in a game! Elize and Edna could debate over which of their mascots is cuter, Edna and Laphicet could share stories about Eizen, Patty could learn about the many legends of Aifrede in the different continuities, Mao and Genis could be intellectually gifted rivals, Genis trying to hide his implied adorable side (especially his Katz Pajamas), Sophie, Laphicet, and Mao being openly adorable, Edna trolling everyone but especially Karol. Patty and Laphicet could get along really well due to Laphicet having worked for one of Aifrede's many crews, Karol being the resident Monster expert comparing the differences in monsters and their power from their different worlds, Genis being in charge of a Discovery Book that he would want to show Raine when he returned knowing she'd love to learn about any ruins they visit. Laphicet would be in charge of a collectors book, etc. Plus I can see them going all Dawn of the New World by giving them elemental Attributes and Affinities. Mao and Edna obviously being Fire and Earth respectively, Genis retaining his Ice Affinity from DotNW, Sophie being categorized as a Wind Attribute Character because of her swift movements and to reflect where Asbel found her in Graces (since the continent they Asbel lives on is heavily connected to the wind element that is enhanced by the Valkines Cryas), Laphicet could be a light attribute, Elize a darkness attribute given her list of spells, Karol being a lightning attribute not only because he has some lightning arts but also because he wields hammers and axes which are weapons said to be wielded by Thor, Norse god of thunder. And Patty would be attributed to water for obviously her pirate background. And now imagine the game being about them having been chosen to replace the respective elemental deities of the series thus with every future installment that includes elemental deities they start looking more and more like the original deities until they are a combination of both their original design and elemental deity
If there's one thing i love about Berseria, this mismatched group is a perfect comedic relief. I've played Tales for years, but never laugh so hard on skits and victory quotes lmao

Well this game is very low budget, classic and have low chance of interaction with the environment. Also the characters could have been way more expressive. I totally agree it is an awesome game but Persona 5 is just beyond its level.

Tales of Zestiria was the first tales of game I had ever played and I really liked it so far (still haven't finished the games but getting close). I'm a lot closer to finishing Tales of Berseria than I am with Tales of Zestiria.

So, once I finish Berseria, I will restart Symphonia. I will also check out Abyss and Vesperia. ty for the recommendation. I love how one time, Laphicet just used his mystic art on an enemy with low HP (Like, it was the LAST enemy, and it was of NO threat whatsoever), and then, on the victory screen, Laphicet said "Gotta be careful not to misuse my power". As if wasting your Mystic Art on a relatively weak enemy, wouldn't be considered as misusing your power.

Oh man, these are so good. When I was playing through the version on steam, I kept getting the same 5 - 10-ish victory quotes... It made me sad, cause I was thinking that this time around they didn't do anything special but it seems there was something wrong with the PC port in regards to this, maybe?
Yeah it was pretty difficult to get some of these quotes to pop up. I think I had around 3000 battles before I discovered one or two more. It was difficult for sure, haha. And definitely not as plentiful as the other recent games.
Arise left out a lot of charming little things in favour of being more accessible. Also I'm surprised at how much better the VA work and direction (very little of the annoying huh or repeating dialogues) is in Berseria compared to Arise.
I didn't mind it. I think Arise went for a more grounded approach. I love these in Berseria, but it would have probably out of place with the cast in Arise. That cast in Adise is less about the teasing, and more about growing to understand each other.
I wonder if the wallbreaker one is a reference to Tales of Wallbreaker, a minigame in Tales of Vs. Where the goal was to literally smash your opponent through a wall to win

I have nearly finished the game and some of these victory quotes I have never seen so, ty for the video. I love some of these quotes because they are really funny. I'm glad I bought Tales of Berseria as I am really enjoying playing this game.

@@TheAfrowJow I'm excited for the Vesperia re-release as well because I haven't played the game before and I want to play it. Tales of Zestiria was the first tales of game I had ever played and I really liked it so far (still haven't finished the games but getting close). I'm a lot closer to finishing Tales of Berseria than I am with Tales of Zestiria.

@@TheAfrowJow I already bought Symphonia about a year ago and started playing it. However, I partly messed up the first puzzle and couldn't complete it. So, once I finish Berseria, I will restart Symphonia. I will also check out Abyss and Vesperia. ty for the recommendation. I kind of also want to check out Xillia as well because of the cameo that Jude and Milla did in Berseria.

I love how one time, Laphicet just used his mystic art on an enemy with low HP (Like, it was the LAST enemy, and it was of NO threat whatsoever), and then, on the victory screen, Laphicet said "Gotta be careful not to misuse my power". As if wasting your Mystic Art on a relatively weak enemy, wouldn't be considered as misusing your power.
Anyhow, I'm still playing through Berseria. It's incredibly fun so far!

Oh man, these are so good. When I was playing through the version on steam, I kept getting the same 5 - 10-ish victory quotes... It made me sad, cause I was thinking that this time around they didn't do anything special but it seems there was something wrong with the PC port in regards to this, maybe?
Yeah it was pretty difficult to get some of these quotes to pop up. I think I had around 3000 battles before I discovered one or two more. It was difficult for sure, haha. And definitely not as plentiful as the other recent games.

Arise left out a lot of charming little things in favour of being more accessible. Also I'm surprised at how much better the VA work and direction (very little of the annoying huh or repeating dialogues) is in Berseria compared to Arise.
I didn't mind it. I think Arise went for a more grounded approach. I love these in Berseria, but it would have probably out of place with the cast in Arise. That cast in Adise is less about the teasing, and more about growing to understand each other.
