2:10 a.m. woke up.couldnt go back to sleep. Enjoyed watching triple play and then tutorial. Bought sevral items on line. Now i am completely relaxed. Thank you jenny and family for all you do. Love listening and watching all these tutorials. Thank you.
🥰Bless you Jenny for sharing your talents and ideas. Thank you. I LOVE THIS ONE! You yet have another Grand Hit Out Of The Park with it. Am so happy l couldn’t sleep and decided to take a peek to see if Jenny had visited yet! 3:36 am Friday May 12, 2023.
Just had to come back and add... I can't wait to get into my sewing room and "do this"... finding you back when MSQC first began i would buy the DD almost everyday and get inspired... FF to today..I am using up my collection of "charms" . I make the "charms on point" quilt and sash/border it in this same manner.. I now have a NEW quilt design to help me use up all this stash! i'm sewing as fast as i can so i don't leave all this fabric "behind"... I'm 76 in June..:)
Since she cut the layer cake in 5" squares, you COULD use Charm packs for this!! I'd have to go back & count to get a total so you might need 2 matching Charm packs, but they would work!! Now more ideas are going thru my head 🤣🤣 Ok, I just cyphered & you'd need 4 Charm packs.
I like that you separated the colors into darks and lights then used the lights on the border. The darks in the middle do make the stars pop. Great tip!
The wonky legs are my favourite! So much easier than trying to get them perfect with fussy templates and it adds a touch of whimsy to the project. Thanks Jenny.
Miss.Jenny I just love your tutorial. I want to say thank you for doing a great job you have been a great teacher to me through UA-cam. I was a very beginner quilter now over 6 years I am now I am and advanced quilter . Thank and your family. May God Bless you. I can't wait to make this beautiful quilt
I have SO many layer cakes in my stash, so I love that this doesn't use a lot of extra yardage, only that fairly small amount of background. Very nice! I'll be making this one.
Oh my goodness! What a way to start a Friday - my absolutely favorite colors and my favorite batiks!!!!! I put the layer cake into my basket right away so I’d be sure to have it!!!!!! Plus the digital pattern! And I thought it would be tricky to sew - but I know that Jenny would have a simpler way😄😄😄. I can see this pattern in so many different color choices and then making it a bit larger or even smaller - or a table runner size but for a wall hanging in those narrow places many of us have in our homes. I am so excited😄😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍👍
My goodness! Fascinating & beautiful! Thank you - ALWAYS, Jenny & MSQC. Happy Mother's Day to you, Jenny, Natalie, Misty, & ALL of our wonderful Mom’s. 💝💝💝
This is the VERY 1st time I have ever said I didn’t like the colors of the quilt Jenny featured in a tutorial. I’ve been watching enthusiastically since April 2011, and have enjoyed the color combinations until today, but hey I think that’s a great track record!!! I like Jenny LOVE star quilt anything!!! I have learned soooo much from Jenny and truly enjoy Natalie & Misty too.
One of the many beautiful things about quilting is that you can use the colors and fabrics of your choice. That’s what makes it YOUR quilt instead of someone else’s copied. Sometimes I don’t care for Jenny’s choice (not often) but even when I do like it I rarely use the same fabrics she does. I see it in the colors or prints that speak to me. I do love her choice this time but I’ve done so many quilts in the blue/green/purple that it’s time for a change. This would look good in Christmas colors too. So many choices!
I am a fussy quilter I guess because I could never piece like you. The quilt is very pretty though. That's the beauty of quilting with friends. We are all so different. I remember a quote from a friend who said it doesn't matter how you go around the block as long as you reach your destination
Love, love, LOVE! You taught us wonky stars years back and I love them. Thanks for a new rendition. I am excited to try this . Thanks Jenny and all at MSQC!
Very cute for a baby quilt. I think I would cut 3" squares of the white background for the star points and do the diagonal stitch and flip thing because I don't like wonky legs at all. Thanks!
I see the Star legs as pretty much the same too - and being slightly OCD😄😄 I probably would make the Star legs the same - although I do like the legs slightly longer than just sewing from corner to middle,
Another beautiful quilt, Jenny! Wonky stars make me nervous, but the way you showed them, I need to try this! Thank you so much for your budget friendly tutorials! I'm going to use this for a baby quilt!
What a great quilt. The block is so easy once you explained it. I love that you explain every step. I'm a newbie so it really helps. I just love your tutorials.😊. Thank you!
That is such a beautiful quilt. I love how it came out. It is not pieced how I thought. You greatly simplified it. Thank you so much for what you do. It keeps us inspired!
I love the way you explain everything as u do it. Thank you. I have made several of the quilts you did tutorials one, they all turned out wonderfully. Thank you so much for the lessons. God bless you and yours.
To reduce bulk, trim the extra layers of fabric off the back after adding the 1st white wonky star point, and again after adding the second. There will only be 1 layer of fabric remaining, the same as when the 2 1/2" square is added at the center and excess layers trimmed away.🥰
Love this tutorial. You trim the white fabric off the wonky star to bring the block back to 5inches, is there a reason you don’t trim the wonky star leg base fabric off the back?
You'll find that if you don't trim the base fabric after you trim the white, the dark colors can show through the white on top. If you are scrappy with the colors this results in white "shades" that are different.
@@jeandryja6992 I agree, I’m just surprised that each time I see them do the wonky star legs they don’t show or mention trimming the background fabric 🤷♀️

Happy Birthday to Missouri Star Quilt Company.
The way you use light squares and dark squares to show off the stars is a very creative idea.

I really appreciate how when you use a quilting term you explain it. It helps those of us who are newbies. I love the colors in this quilt.
I love the way you broke it down for us. Wonky star legs are my favorite because it allows each star to be unique. Go Jenny!
Wow! That seemed a lot easier than it originally looked. What a cute quilt!
I like that you separated the colors into darks and lights then used the lights on the border. The darks in the middle do make the stars pop. Great tip!
I love this batik layer cake. Such pretty and calming colors. The quilt is gorgeous! Thank you Jenny!💖💖💖

I have the perfect fabric for this! It is southwestern color themed and with the white wonky start it will look so New Mexico. Thank you!

so pretty nothing is better than a star quilt❤
I love this cute star quilt in Batiks. But I need a patriotic mini quilt soon, so I may make one in red, white and blue
I was thinking Christmas colors, too!!

The batiks make this block exceptional. Thank you for sharing
Wow!! Jenny, you nailed it! I love this quilt, and I love all of your tutorials!!
Love, love, LOVE! You taught us wonky stars years back and I love them. Thanks for a new rendition. I am excited to try this . Thanks Jenny and all at MSQC!

Have to love anything with those colors!! Beautiful!!
WOW...finally...just what i've been looking for! A deep dive into your creative process... THIS is how i love to sew...makes my brain work! Hugs, GB
Very cute for a baby quilt. I think I would cut 3" squares of the white background for the star points and do the diagonal stitch and flip thing because I don't like wonky legs at all. Thanks!
To be honest, I can't see Jenny's wonky stars. The star legs look accurate.
I agree. I’m too anal for wonky stars. I like symmetry in my quilts.
Thanks for doing the math for those of us who prefer symmetry.
I see the Star legs as pretty much the same too - and being slightly OCD😄😄 I probably would make the Star legs the same - although I do like the legs slightly longer than just sewing from corner to middle,
I'm definitely not a wonky person either.
I love batiks. I love stars. Win. Win.😊

Love this ❤ definitely on my list to make ty Jenny
Beautiful!!
Can't wait to make this
Sooooo cool!
Love this tutorial. You trim the white fabric off the wonky star to bring the block back to 5inches, is there a reason you don’t trim the wonky star leg base fabric off the back?
I wondered the same.
I would cut the extra off the back to eliminate bulk but that’s just me.😊

that is a neat pattern!
This is a gorgeous quilt. My problem is, I'm too much of a control freak for wonky legs.
Wonky is great.
I like this quilt and its easy
Love it thanks Jenny😊
Beautiful
Are you not doing triple play any more? I love all of your videos but Triple Play is my favorite. Thanks
