The wonky star and the Ohio star are two of my favorite blocks. I love this!!! Any color would be great, but being a vet I love the red, white, and blue!!!
I love your new pattern and quilt! I can hardly wait to make it. P.S. I thought your explanations and presentation was perfect. We could see the entire quilt layout great, the sewing and the cutting all were really nicely done. As always, thank you and your family so much for all the hard work you do so we can have more fun and improve our craft. You have been a blessing to many!
Beautiful quilt!! Is there a time limit on videos? I always feel like your videos are rushed by not showing all the steps to each block. I know the pattern has all the steps but following the video and the pattern together guarantees success. Pleass comment. Thanks for all your great patterns.
How refreshing that you are economical with your fabric. So often I watch quilters who seem to have no concern about the way they use their fabric. I absolutely love this quilt. Can’t wait to have a go 😊
It’s a beautiful quilt! I think it would look great in school colours for a new graduate. Thanks for the excellent tutorial Misty & MSQC behind-the-scenes team (I almost typed “behind-the-seams” team… which would’ve been equally appropriate, if a bit punny! 😄). ~Diana K., Hamilton ON (Canada).
The quilt is lovely, but I am always amazed how you can sit and cut and sit and iron and sit and sew. I look like a jack in the box. I can’t cut while I’m sitting and I can’t iron while I’m sitting. I’m definitely making this one
Im doings this quilt i sit here rewatching this video but im using kanas trouble fabric line thanks misty for sharing. I found it was easier to just cut the 21/2 square diagonally for wonky star points easier cutting away extra fabric
Beautiful quilt. I have done several Ohio Star table runners, but I love the idea of mixing the wonky stars in with them. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Love the design... You are so fun to watch and I always learn new tips and you make it look so simple. I will now feel confident enough to try this design.... Thanks again ...
Misty, this is absolutely gorgeous!! I love it so much Sweetpea! I know both of your Grandma's are smiling down at you and so proud of you for carrying on this beautiful legacy of quilting. You make us all so, so proud every day. Love you.
I love star quilts and this is now a favorite❣️ I absolutely love your tutorials and look forward to making this one. Thanks for sharing your piecing tips.
Such a fun pattern! Love love love this one. I think this is my favorite tutorial you’ve done yet Miss Misty. Thanks so much for taking the time to show us. Have a wonderful week and I hope you had a fantastic Mother’s Day 🤗🤗
Wonderful job, Misty! This is a beautiful quilt! I haven’t made any wonky stars yet! It is pretty amazing how the little stars are spaced out like that just by reversing the direction! Love it!
I love this layout but I can’t use as large a quilt. ( I need a wall hanging size). Can you try starting with smaller quilts we can enlarge? As always absolutely charming!
I live this pattern, Misty!! Omgggg, this is sew bad ass!! Ok, I love our country, but I just dont want to make a flag quilt! I'm making Susan's Ache basket quilt for summer memories, and this one is perfect for patriotic quilt yessssss loveeee... I love this style sew much!!
I love this quilt pattern as much as the heart one! I have a quesiton: I notice within the background squares there seem to be random light tone squares mixed in. How did you do this?
The final block is 6” finished (which is the same as 6.5” unfinished). Just find a free online pattern for a star you like that finishes at 6” and just replace it.
I was thinking the same thing. There are charm packs available with this same fabric. I just figure out the cost difference (if there is one - with the price of fabrics rising quite a bit I can make a choice between one layer cake or 4 charm packs - if charms will work with a particular pattern. I’ve been known to purchase 4 matching charm packs just because I like the fabrics!!!!!
I believe they didn’t use a charm pack because they use four of the same print for each block. You could use a charm pack; the stars would just be all different.
Would need 4 charm packs and you might not get enough of all the matching fabrics. So some of your stars might come out scrappier. That could make it even more interesting. I think it falls in the “personal preference” category. I have a couple of patriotic layer cakes that have been waiting for homes. Think I just found them!
I love this quilt but please, please correct the lighting in Misty’s studio. The sewing machine light is awful, the front view of her at the machine is perfect, and the lighting used for the cutting area is dim. 🫤
my husband is a veteran. I have MANY needs of quilts for veterans, THANK YOU!
The wonky star and the Ohio star are two of my favorite blocks. I love this!!! Any color would be great, but being a vet I love the red, white, and blue!!!
Thank you for demonstrating how to square up a block without a special tool.

Well said. I’m sure the amount of work that goes into a tutorial is more than we can appreciate.
Just finished this quilt. So fun to make. Took me a while to get comfortable with the wonky stars! Love this pattern
Beautiful quilt!!

What a fun pattern! Thank you Misty for doing the math as well. Super cute!
I just finished this quilt. I honestly think its my favorite
Such a pretty quilt, would be a good Quilt of Valor for a deserving veteran. 🇺🇸

I also have to stand for cutting.
I too have to stand when I cut and iron. Keeps me moving!!
I completely agree. I am up and down so much. Does that count for my exercise?
same here! I do get a lot of steps in running back and forth! I have tried sitting and cutting and it just doesn't work for me!

Love the negative space. It allows the stars to shine- just like the sky. The patriotic colors are a nice touch.
As soon as I saw this quilt I knew I wanted to make it - even though I am an Aussie ;) Thanks for a great tutorial :)
I love your tutorials. You are so easy to follow which makes you a great teacher. Thank you
Agree 100% ❤️
What a beautiful quilt! Thank you Misty for the design and the great tutorial.

I love this pattern! Easily adjustable for different sizes and I appreciate your teaching style. Thank you!

Wish you could hit the ❤button where you hit the thumbs up button
Love this pattern
Might be just perfect in girly fabric for my little grand niece
Thank you for showing how to square a block using a square ruler.
Oh my goodness just beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for beautiful quilt pattern. Love that's its red, white, and blue.
I loooooove it! I'm going to have to start making it like right now 😅 You explain it so clearly. Thank you!
What a beautiful quilt. It's so crisp and clean looking, as well as patriotic! Beautiful job and great instructions too. Thank you!
Thank you Misty, this is easy enough for even a beginner.
How sweet this quilt turns out. I love it. Thanks again.❤
This is such a gorgeous pattern! Also, by not cutting/trimming your corners, it will make you have a heavier/warmer quilt.
Oh, I LOVE this pattern!

Love the nail polish!!! The quilt is also great.

It’s a gorgeous quilt
Such a fun idea. Thank you
Love this pattern, Misty. Thank you. I'm wondering how it would look scrappy?
Great job, Misty! Your colors are superb in this quilt.
Beautiful quilt, loving the layout of your stars. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️😊
Really like this quilt!
Good Evening Misty, I love this quilt and I love the open space where I can do some beautiful quilting❣️ Thank You So Much, 🥰 Chris
Great job Misty! love the pattern and the colors you choose!
I love this layout but I can’t use as large a quilt. ( I need a wall hanging size). Can you try starting with smaller quilts we can enlarge? As always absolutely charming!
Beautiful quilt ❤, thank you so much for sharing 😊
Love this pattern!❤
Beautiful!! This looks so great!
So cute!!!
Beautiful quilt
Great love the quilt
Love it Mysti. Thank you for your tutorial 👏❤️
Why does the lighting change so dramatically on sewing close ups? Makes those very hard to see. Otherwise a great tutorial and fabulous quilt !
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that happen! It was like a blue filter over the sewing close ups!

Beautiful,
Love this ❣️❣️
Love it!!
Wouldn't this be lovely with bright stars on a navy ground?
Great Job! Thank you! Can you explain further fhow you cut that block down to 5 3/4?
Do we get to see the whole quilt? 😀
could I use the 5 inch charms to make this instead of a quilt I want to do a table runner thanks
So cute
and... love those fingernails !
If you didn’t want to do wonky stars..what would the measurements be for regular stars??? Im not a fan of the wonky star
The final block is 6” finished (which is the same as 6.5” unfinished). Just find a free online pattern for a star you like that finishes at 6” and just replace it.
Would you do a tutorial on a string-ppieced star?
You don’t tell us how many blocks we need. I don’t see where the pattern is offered.
You can find the Confetti Stars pattern here: www.missouriquiltco.com/products/confetti-stars-quilt-pattern-by-missouri-star
Where did you get the 1/4” foot? I want one. I have a Baby Lock Brilliant. Thx
I think you started to reply but didn’t finish. Thx
✨⭐🌟⭐✨
When I quilt it myself...I trim off the excess. If sending for longarm quilting...I do not.
Do u have one to sell
3 of us are doing this quilt and ALL of us are having the points cut off a little bit. Bummer
Follow the video! All 3 of you ❤

Why is it so hard to see once she’s sewing? It’s like the lighting is an issue, very hard to see with cataracts.
👍👏🥰🌸🇦🇺
Great demo but the shots showing you sewing look faded out
Sorry Misty I mis-spelled your name my apologies ❤️
To much empty space
I love this quilt but please, please correct the lighting in Misty’s studio. The sewing machine light is awful, the front view of her at the machine is perfect, and the lighting used for the cutting area is dim. 🫤
Yes, i agree. Jenny's tutorial from Friday was the same.
Beautiful quilt!
