5 years of ocean, hot showers, car washing, pools, and hot tubs tell me that it’s tough. The band itself wears out after about 3-4 years of daily wear but the pins don’t pop out
I changed the strap on mine straight away because it looked a bit lightweight. However I still probably spent less than $35 total and I wear it every day on the ranch, working with horses, fencing, swinging sledgehammers, cutting trees, I swim in the lake with the kids and it's still going strong. If it gives up one day I wouldn't hesitate getting another.
I’ve had mine for 6 months, definitely gets a lot of wrist time, and I work in construction/maintenance/landscaping. I love it, getting my CDL and will wear it while driving too. It fits me and my lifestyle, it’s durable, and the Miyota 2035 movement is accurate, and really reliable. I’d love to have a Rolex Submariner, Santos, and Speedy for the weekends, and a few homage watches here and there throughout the week. This MRW-200H will be my primary work, project, and field watch.
Try buying a 18mm-22mm lug width adapter and a nato strap. I think it made it more solid plus it fits my 8inch wrist better. More room for movement too. Used it in the workshop alot of times and seems to hold on to me pretty well.
well the adapter i bought only cost around $2-$3 and as for the Nato 4$. Suprisingly theres Chinese Manufactured Adapters and natos that are great quality, the adapters are made from steel and has black coating on it, as for the nato strap i opt for the ribed ones and yes its in great quality. Sturdy, thick, and durable if you ask me. So i really think its a great upgrade and not going too overboard in the budget. @@JimKinkade
I work in a hospital, so for me being a guy who works in pjs and air-conditioning the biggest concern is waterproofing and occasional impacts. It's been the king! A major player in my rotation and my favorite analog. I also threw one on a nato strap with an f91w on the same strap riding the bottom to give me an alarm and stop watch on board. I would pay silly money to have the same exact watch with an alarm and light. I've looked at the g shock analogs but hate the numberless faces
Do you work bedside? If so, do you feel a nato is a CC risk? I tattoo and have avoided wearing anything cloth or remotely porous in case I get blood/fluid spray on it.
@@shaynesimmonstattoo yeah I work in surgery/PACU. I don't see it as any more of a risk then my scrubs that are also made of fabric. I don't really see a situation where my arms would come into contact with a person if I don't have gloves on. And if I do the watch is also covered 👍 good question tho
@@DavidDoingLife I was originally trained to work bare below the elbow and I work with pretty large weeping wounds, so any cloth shirt sleeves or anything like that below my elbow severely creeps me out. But I appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks. ✌️
@shaynesimmonstattoo yeah no worries. Typically we dress for the situation so like if we are going to be elbow deep in a wound or something we wear covers anyway. That being said I see why you received that training since you work with large paces and can't just wear coveralls every time you work on someone 😂 or I guess you could but it would probably be a financial loss for you. I cant wear it loose, the band is too small on my 8"+ wrist and already on the last hole - a common problem with cheap import and many other watches - on top of that you cant just install a NATO band because the way the case is made its molded for the rubber band it comes with and the only way to fit a NATO is to buy adapters from the UK that cost twice what the watch does or file the crap out of the case which I dont want to do.
You haven’t worn this yet! Try it. The flexing in the band will help not pop the pins as you call them. It’s yet to happen to me. Wear it slightly looser. Offshore oil workers use these all the time in Scotland. Great review otherwise.
You have a very valid point about the pins that no one has spoken about till now and i too love the day of the week being available as i do struggle to remember what day of the week is at times! Great review keep it up! Cheers from Bengaluru India!
I don’t think there’s an economically viable option. It shouldn’t be a problem for light usage. It’s a good looking watch. Just don’t beat on it too hard and you’ll be fine.
Thank you for your reply I understand maybe I will get this watch it’s just also that this watch in South African rands go at R1000 which is really ridiculous not that I cannot afford it but to pay these prices here whereas in US or UK Europe this watch is about twenty dollars
Yes I agree even this G shock I have paid about R2800 and in US about 100 dollars. Its the GA 100 model which some days I like and some days I don’t like even thought crazy of selling it then using that money towards something else perhaps so yeah what to do I have a Casio edifice as well
Yeah my wrist is 8.5" as well and mine barely fits on the last hole and its (tight) - and strap options are nil as the pin area is proprietary to the damn casio band
I'm looking to buy this in India, because it's selling here below 10 USD. I'm in high school, sometimes I hit the gym. Can I handle some small fist fight or bumps, like in school and the corner of desk etc. Should I buy this or W800 hm? W800 is selling for 6USD but I am sick of the design.
@@JimKinkade I think it's way more expensive as compared MRW. Around 30 USD to be exact. I think that my mom will allow anything below 13-15USD Can you suggest me one? I'm looking for a G shock-like looking watch which is durable af.

I am a Motorcycle mechanic and beat that watch daily for years. You need to replace the pins. They wear on any watch. Mine are original and it is 5 years old. You are wearing it too tight.

This watch is great for people with old eyes. I bought one for my mom and she's very happy with it (she's 72)

20bucks for such good watch... nothing to complain
True, but at 20 bucks I'd go for the AE1500 because it's a little more durable.
NASA issued this MRW to flight crews on their WB-57 High Altitude Research Program, strapped on the outside of their suits.
I did not know that. I saw in the G-Shock book astronauts with G-Shocks.

I paid £11 in 2024. Insane value for a great looking accurate, waterproof practical watch. Essential for a Casio collector.

Get a nato for 10 bucks( or even less) it'll look better and still be under 30 bucks.
Yes, but I think the lug width is too narrow. So it would need adapters too.

so if watch catches something, you'd rather have your arm degloved than dropping your watch. Makes sense
It depends on your definition of what a "beater watch" is.
I think to a lot of watch guys a beater watch is for mowing the lawn. 😂
