One of the things I do not understand is how some people can not like fantasy. Like ????? There's magic???? You get transported to this fantastical world that's so different from the ordinary world???? There's so much scope for imagination and creativity????? It's also really refreshing to read about a world that's unlike our own because you don't have to think about real world problems and stuff???? It's a way of escaping reality????? What's not to love?????

I'm reading Vampire Academy for the first time right now and I am SHOCKED at how much I'm loving it. I agree, it's juvenile and has flaws but I've not been obsessed and consumed by a series like this is a VERY long time!!!

It's an amazing series and I do recommend the sequel series to Vampire Academy as well which is Bloodlines if you have finished vampire academy. You'll love it just as much!

Maggie Stiefvater's series is called "The Raven Cycle" and not "The Raven Boys". The Raven Boys is just the first book in the series, you should know that as a fan.

I'm often annoyed when people just look the best quality in books and these books are poorly written for them, but they are sometimes there just to relax and transfer to the imaginary world and forget the real problems :)

I sort of agree, but also sort of disagree. For example, if a book is dull and blandly written (ex: Divergent -IMO) I can't read it. Or if there are many grammar mistakes or just weird sentences (like the author uses the word "abrupt" in every other paragraph for example lol) then I can't get through the book because I get distracted. But I do get the part about sometimes just wanting to read something for fun and not worrying about the rhythm of the writing or the accuracy :)
B E Yes divergent isn't written beautifully but it is one of my favorite favorite series just for all of the entertainment that it provides. Divergent is my twilight. I read it when I was very young and impressionable and I know that it will stay with me for years to come. That series taught some truly amazing lessons that everybody should learn and I will be forever grateful that Veronica Roth was able to make me feel this way. Yes I also greatly greatly love all of Cassandra Clare's works and yes each and every one is written beautifully but I also know that the Divergent Trilogy and Veronica Roth will never ever stop being my favorite series and author. End of story.

My Favourite Series of all time are
1- The Divergent Trilogy...x"D, okay I know it's not that great but this book got that little 10 year old with self esteem issues and all that into reading...and reading has helped me a lot in my life. It's kind of an escape from reality and Divergent was very uplifting. Up until the end but this book has a special place in my heart. And I also really like the movies even though they are not that good but...they're sentimental.
2- The Throne of Glass Series- I found this series when I was like 11...after I had started reading a lot and it really had an impact on me as a person because Celaena was a really strong character and she showed me that, no matter what you go through and no matter what life throws at you, you can always get up and get through it. Heir of Fire is my favourite in the series cause it really invoked alot of emotions in me while QoS made me gasp and faint and all those things.
3- The Dark Artifices....gosh do I even need to say why. I loved that book so much, the plot and everything just made me feel things...And I like to FEEL feels...xD
4-The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. it's a tie between these two cause I love them both so so much and I couldn't decide which one I loved more.
5-The Darkest Minds Trilogy- I just loved this series so much, it was also one of the books I read when I got into reading and twelve year old me could not handle the feels...15 year old me can't either...x"D...And the whole story is just sooo mind blowing and I just love it sooo much.
6-This one has to be The Lunar Chronicles cause it was just so epic. It was complete madness and thrilling and totally had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. I also read it when I just got into reading and I was about 11 years old when I read Cinder and I loved and I still love it to this day.
7- The Hunger Games trilogy...I read these books when I around 13 and I really loved them they had a really strong emphasis on sacrifice which is something I learned from the series and it was really great and I loved it loads...I still love it to this day.
8- The Legend Trilogy- I just really really loved this trilogy it was very fantastic, action packed and really stuck with me after I read it...And I love the characters.
9- Six of Crows and The Grisha Trilogy, I know SoC ain't over yet but I really loved the first book and I enjoyed it a lot as well as the Grisha Trilogy.
10- An Ember in The Ashes....

I read the books in german so i dont know which one word she´s talking about either (and i read the whole series so its kinda eh) But I loved this series with all of my heart!!! Ive never loved characters this much and ive never been so devastated when one died. And Chubs is just one of the best sidekicks in the world, lets be real here xD

+The Bookish Babbler also (sorry I keep commenting but I keep thinking of more things to say) I think you are such a strong person and such an amazing role-model for young girl who have or currently are struggling with anorexia/depression and I applaud you for talking about it in this video. As a person who also has struggled with depression and eating disorders I was so glad when you spoke about it, even for a moment. Fandoms and books played such a huge part in my own journey battling with depression and I just love the fact that there are other people who have been impacted so positively by fandoms as well. Okay I swear I am done commenting haha.

AVPM was my obsession for SO long! I just made a video about HP, it's currently uploading and I make so many starkid references. I just love the AVPM series.

I'm the same about picking favorite books. People will ask me "what's your favorite book?" And I will have no idea. There are just so many different types of books I read that I can't pick just one!
Mine are obviously Harry Potter, throne of glass, infernal devices, ruby red trilogy, mortal instruments, lunar chronicles, Percy Jackson, ms. Peregrines, and the selection trilogy.
Also I'm exactly the same way when it comes to Harry Potter and completely got that reference of Harry frickin potter lol. I love watching your videos and now I want to make my own favorite series list for my channel.

Vampire Academy used to be my number too, that was before I read TMI!!! I still love VA as much as I love TMI! I just can't stop thinking bout these 2 series after I've finished them! And also, u should check out Victoria Aveyard's RED QUEEN series! That's also one of ma faves!!

I’m so glad you put the darkest minds in here! It doesn’t get enough love, it is one of my favorite series! I wasn’t a big fan of the last book (besides the ending which I loved) but overall it i just adore it. The first book has such a special place in my heart. Just the four characters riding in black Betty and interacting was so enjoyable, I was so sad when the road trip was over! I was bawling at the end of the first book for hours, my emotions were everywhere! If you read this series you know why... Also this is the book that got me back into reading after I barely read despite wanting to in middle school. My freshman year of high school I read this and ever since I’ve been a bookaholic again!
My favorite book series is the six of crows duology, with the second book being my favorite book of all time! I love the characters, and I cried multiple times while reading it!
Also the book series that will always be one of my favorites half because of nostalgia reasons is the hunger games. I read very light-hearted books before than, and I think I was in fourth or fifth grade when I read the hunger games. It opened my eyes to a whole new genre of books that are much more thrilling and dark and exciting. Too bad I stopped reading when I got to middle school...

I've found a couple of her videos and what really draws me in is her makeup.She is a gorgeous girl and she has a great sense of
style and books. It's nice to see someone who reads books and takes time to put effort into their appearance because a lot of times people give into this stereotype that girls who read are ugly and don't care what they look like. She is really a inspiration to young readers and more people should watch her.
Twilight is a pretty good series though! It's just tamer and more vanilla compared to other book series! And it's a super simple read too. There's not much thought or stress behind it. It's enjoyable and interesting in its own, special way!
Like you, I LOVE the Lunar Chronicles too! It's probably one of the best retellings i've ever encountered.

Cinder was also my first sci-fi book! I'm currently reading Cress and it's sooo good so far.
I liked the first and second book in the Twilight Series soooo much because even though they weren't the best and had cliches, they were so much fun!!!! It was so much fun to see the characters go through everything even if it was in the most cliche way.
I have heard the Selection Series was good,and I can't wait to read it!! I know a lot of people don't like it, but I thought it seemed really interesting and fun!!
I am starting the Mortal Instruments series in a couple of days and am so excited for it!! Watching your videos, I am so ready to read and experience it!!

I fell in love with Twilight when I saw the movie at home. as soon as Edward walked into the cafeteria I was hooked. seriously that was all it took. I immediately bought the first book right after and I've been a fan since then & have read all the books. I didn't read anything for years because I thought it wouldn't even compare but luckily the first 2 series I read were great. Also I love TMI but I haven't read the last one & I also have the other trilogy but I haven't read, I know what's wrong with me lol.

So, I FINALLY finished the first 3 in the Mortal Instruments, and am currently on Clockwork Princess...but I totally understand how you feel about TMI, while I wasn't dealing with the same things as you when I read them, I really loved them. When I'm not reading the shadowhunter books I feel like I miss my friends. 😊 Even while reading TID I'm like, I miss Simon and Clary and Jace haha. So I can totally understand how those books have helped you too overcome loneliness and depression. I can't wait to start City of Fallen Angels!

Favorite Books that made you laugh. The Twilight movie was alright. I did think the selection was fun too. Rose from vampire academy is my favorite and very funny vampire type character.
I agree with you on Twilight haha. It is VERY problematic but it had such an impact on YA and YA Fantasy. Yes, Edward is stalker-ish and Bella makes some very questionable decisions but without those melodramatic moments what would be a Teen Vampire Romance? I read Twilight for the first time early this year and I know its flaws, but the Twilight Saga will always have a special place in my heart

I felt so related to what you said about "giving books second chances" cause that happened to me with TMI, i remember enjoying it so bad but then i got to a point where i wasn't having like a 100% fun with reading and i just stopped, the thing is it's been like 4 years now and i still haven't finished the series and i really want to, like you said "i feel it in my gut", but with this video i am for sure gonna grab the series again and finish it 💕💕thanks

My absolute favorite series are the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy, the Starbound trilogy (These Broken Stars, etc), The Lunar Chronicles, The Infernal Devices, and the Ender quartet! I adore them all. I loved the video!!

Dude I read Vampire Academy in middle school and it's one of my favorite series of all time and I love Bloodlines even more. I was so sad after Bloodlines ended because I'd been caught up in this universe for so long and it was such a big part of my young adult life.
i've been reading TMI and I'm on City of Glass and I'm so excited! I love them so far. I can't wait to be done with them so I can finally talk about the whole series and not have to worry about being spoiled

The Mortal Instruments series came to me when I felt alone, and depressed and really didn’t have anyone and I was trapped in myself. Each character taught me something different and each story made me like myself better. I was depressed, I didn’t care about my health, I was eating so unhealthy that I was nearing to the point where I had trouble walking, I was trapped in the closet as a bisexual who was so scared to be rejected by her family and friends that she wouldn’t say anything. I first saw the movie and watched a few episodes of the show before I picked the books up, and I can honestly say.. a year later me has lost 80 pounds, she has come out of the closet thanks to Alec Lightwood, she’s learned that being small is not weak thanks to Clary Fray, she’s learned that a woman can wear and do whatever she wants thanks to Isabelle Lightwood. She’s proud to fight like a girl and in this time of being sick, psychically now, she’s proud to fight like Clary and Izzy and Maia. She’s proud to not hold her tongue like Jace Herondale and proud to be a bisexual like Magnus Bane. And hopes to someday be as badass as those said three women. Thank you TMI for helping me and so many others find our inner strength and remind us that life is worth living and that nothing can keep us down. 💕
My favorites are Harry Potter, the one of The Da Vinci Code, Maze Runner and Lord Of The Rings. Love Twilight too, one of the first one I read. 💘

You are soooooooo pretty Emma. Insanely pretty. I've always noticed that and can't believe I'm only saying that now. You'll be happy to know I'm currently on the third Infernal Devices book, Clockwork Princess and so far very interesting. Even though I heard not the greatest things about Cassandra Clare, I am considering reading the TMI books since you love them so much.
For me, most of my favorite books are so stand-alones but thankfully I do have favorite series as well:
1) A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
2) Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas.
It was so hard picking between them since I love both books and both the main female leads, but I hold ACOTAR slightly higher since I love Beauty and the beast and it's the beast retellings I've read so far
3). Six of Crows + Crooked Kingdom duology. These books, the characters were sooooo amazing and I love them so
4). The Harry Potter series. Even though I'm currently on the 5th book, I love it so. Harry is my precious baby who deserves the world.
5). Shatter me trilogy by Ms. Tahereh Mafi. This was a series I loved so much. I waited impatiently for the new book to come out and I remember being blown away with each new book. If you haven't read them, Emma, I highly suggest it
6). Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pacat
7). The Wrath and the Dawn duology

I just found this channel and binge-watched most videos about the shadowhunters world. I cannot tell you how many YEARS I've waited to discuss these books with someone THIS much and waited for a person who loves them as much as me. AND I'VE FINALLY FOUND THAT PERSON. IT MAKES ME SO SO SOO HAPPY to see how much TMI means to you because it means as much to me. aaaah. it makes me so happy to see those reactions and love that I have for these books in another person. I cannot even explain how GOOD I feel right now.
My favorite series is the Infernal Devices:)it was the first series I really started reading. I felt a real connection between Will, Jem, and Tessa. I also went through depression really badly and during the whole healing process I would read these series. It helped me embrace who I am and love anybody no matter what:)

Every video I have watched of you talking about the Mortal Instruments has encouraged me to read them! I'm about 150 pages into city of bones and I'm loving it so far!
I feel like a lot of people including me feel like that way as well about Twilight. When I first read it I was I think 12 and at that time I wasn't a big reader and wouldn't become one until a couple years down the road but Twilight I just completely became obsessed with it and was for about twoish two and a half years. But as I started reading more books and gathered more book boyfriends :D I started to realize Edward would probably be a horrible boyfriend and Twilight wasn't actually the best book. Even though now I don't really like Twilight at all It will always hold a special place in my heart for all the great memories it brought me! :)
