Ah cool, yea lots of guitar players/songwriters and other instrumentalists find it very useful to learn more about theory and how music works on piano because it's like you can see it all laid out in a straight line in front of you. That's not to say it's a piece of cake, just easier for it to make sense

Can anyone explain what's wrong with my brain, that I cannot hear the difference in the white keys that are only a half step apart from each other, vs the ones that are a whole step? It sounds like the exact same distance. Yet also playing all 12 notes ALSO sounds like equal distance. I should notice the jarring jump of two of the white keys suddenly being twice as close together in pitch as the remainders, when playing a scale of the white keys only, yet I don't. On top of that, running the finger down the white keys makes what sounds like a perfect pitch gradient, nice and evenly spaced.
