Excellent stuff here. To make basics like this accessible and digestible to beginners takes a lot of time and effort because it is second-nature to someone who already knows what they're doing and they no longer even think about it - Bravo!
You make this real easy you I never understood the difference between a white keys and The Black keys now I know if you're going down they're flat if you're going up they're sharp and the black he'll change according to the white key on which direction
@@PianoFromScratch yes! I literally just got a keyboard yesterday and have been searching up trying to find as many resources as i can to learn the basics of sheet music etc. I've found yours the most helpful, especially in developing musicality and good habits on the keys themselves. I'll be going through all your work bit by bit at my own pace and will update you as to how it goes! By the way, do you have your own website that I can signup for etc. I'd really like to support you more especially that I'm getting this much out of your work
I do have a website but it's not a membership one. www.pianofs.com Funnily enough though, just yesterday I set up a Patreon page. There's nothing on there yet so I haven't mentioned it to anyone but the plan is to post bonus content on there with extra examples and things from the UA-cam content, when I do guided practice video on UA-cam to then do much longer ones over there (things like ear training, testing finding chords and things like that) www.patreon.com/pianofs

Question; if they are the same keys and same notes, why are they named twice? I don't get it xD I mean; G flat and F Sharp are the same exact key; what is the reasoning to give two names for the same note?? Please help im starting and its already confusing AF...wtf? xD
Paula, in response to your question it’s the same black key but in your example it’s performing a different function on behalf of each white key, G and F. G flat is lowering the pitch and F sharp is raising the pitch. I’m learning too. Good luck. 🙂
@@kwaks11x thank you for explaining! ^^ ...still, i dont get the necessity for two functions on the same key xD i mean, they still sound the same no matter what you pressed beforehand, right? So why complicate the matter having to account what you pressed before to name them? THAT'S what i dont get xD (sorry if im not explaining myself too well; english is not my first language)
@@paulacuarental That's ok Paula 🙂. Well...a seasoned pianist will tell you they sound different especially when played as part of a melody. Perhaps to you and I they sound similar because our ears are untrained and we are only just beginning our learning.

I have a question, in order for it to be a G SHARP do I have to play G first and then play a G SHARP or can I just play G SHARP without playing the G?
@@reymachete8878 No you don't have to do that, that's just where the name comes from
@@PianoFromScratch oh okay does the same go with the flats
