I’m using the Action Pro with Techair3 vest over top. Would love to cooler solution.
I have the last gen, ordered from @UrbanRider and love it! Great video. You inspired me to get the under-layer pants.
Great to hear!
As someone who enjoys the aesthetic of riding in a hoodie but not so much the risk of riding unprotected the Urbane Pro Mk2 ranks highly on my wishlist. The form-fitting nature minimizes bulk and allows a rider to wear effectively anything over it, or nothing at all. Unlike a moto-specific riding hoodie there’s no risk of armor or reinforced panels shifting or sliding out of place. The Honister carries the higher AAA abrasion resistance rating, but for my needs the airflow of the Urbane Pro Mk2 with its AA rating is plenty.
You can’t even see yourself though
This needs to be the year I get one.
I too am a cyclist, and with significant rib, lung and shoulder injuries following a MTB crash been looking at armour for cycling. This could be an option, although lacking rib protection it adds in superior abrasion protection compared with A* and Fox options in a less bulky form. Thanks for flagging that cycling use
For MTB crashes, you should look into Motorcross body armor built for impact resistance with full rib coverage such as the well-ventilated Alpinestars A-10 V2 which is amazing for impact resistance.
These ones in the video are for abrasion resistance and would be fabulous to mix both of them!
@@chaxologist2961 hmmm maybe in my climate I need to check out dirt bike gear for the road. It’s too hot I need ventilation and a/c 😂
I have the original Action shirt, and I love it! Knox gear is so spot on! The trick with the action shirt is to buy a AA rated leather jacket or hoodie, pull out all the armour and have the action shirt below. Armour from Action shirt, abrasion from the jacket/hoodie with a more form fitting look. Then when you get where you were going, leave the action shirt on the bike and you have a more dress jacket to walk around in.
Now they have A rated abrasion I'd feel a lot more comfortable in summer opening my jacket/hoodie.
Hi, thanks for sharing! Knox gear indeed is great stuff! - Iza :)
Do you happen to know if the original Action shirt is thinner than the Urbane Pro shirts?
@@airoilcool the original was thinner as more Lycra , but that had no abrasion. Armour was the same. Only the mk3 urbane did update the armour to thinner. After riding 10 min makes no odds but if you can get the thinner stuff always better. 👍🏻
You don't have a video on the Honister?! :O
Hi - is there a difference between the action pro and the action pro mark 2??? I notice other stores are selling the former at the same price as you're selling the mk2
Yeah, I wish the reviewer explained the difference between previous and current gen of the shirt. Particularly, I'm interested if it's thicker or perhaps thinner. And is it actually thinner or as thick as Urbane Pro shirts? I find Urbane Pro to be a little bit thick and sturdy.
@@airoilcoolBuy only mark 2
I like Knox for protection but there waterproof outer is not waterproof enough, I need Gortex as I spend long periods in wet weather riding.
Does the elbow & shoulder also cone out when you need to wash the jacket ?
Hi Reuben! Yes, the armour is removable. - Iza
After using the product "Knox Action Pro Shirt Men's L size Body Armour" on several occasions, I noticed big wear on the wrist part and the chest protection velcro torned when I was detaching the protection. This has raised concerns regarding the durability and reliability. After writing email to Knox, they return like joke. I am adding here the response : "We recommend avoiding this abrasion from other kit etc. A repair of the seam should be a relatively simple and inexpensive job locally."
What country and store did you purchase the product from?
"A repair of the seam should be relatively simple and inexpensive" :D, This is an intriguing solution to safeguarding equipment. It's possible that they offer swimsuits instead of motorcycle gear...
Dear @Knox, have you heard the man's voice? It's possible that someone creates fake products based on your reputation...
Unfortunately, KNOX customer service isn't as good as we'd like it to be. I've had my share of unpleasant experiences trying to solve problems with them. They don't even take responsibility for blatant mistakes like sending you a pair of gloves that don't look 100% like what they show you on the product page.
This is warmer or cooler than the Urbane in super hot climates ? Doesn’t alpine stars make a similar product but with more visible armor? How does that compare ? Please compare it vs the urbane pro
Yeah, a much needed video indeed!
Do they have winter jackets?
Hi. I'm afraid not, they specialise mainly in supplying armour to many brands and have their own body armour shirt, trousers, base layers and gloves. - Iza
I need something with a/c built in. It’s 112 here, wtf am i supposed to do. Send halp.
Hey bro I would love to hear what you have done regarding riding in summer.
I have the Urbane Pro Mk1 A rated and it's still super thick and I'm sweating balls in summer.
You need a water vest. Rev'IT has (used to have?) a nice set: vest, arm and neck collars. You soak the gear in the water, squeeze the excess so it's not dripping off of you and just put it on under your protective and ventilated gear. The wind blasting on a wet vest will inevitably lower your body temperature quite a bit. Refill when the water evaporates :)
@@airoilcool I need to try that. I really want to manufacture a jacket that if marketed properly would dominate its segment, nobody really uses this material design except in one expensive jacket
That looks like you would boil in really hot weather. Am I right?
ye I wonder about that too
@@Dan-qs7ki My brother had the Knox armored leggings that you wear under ordinary jeans. He said, in hot weather, they roasted his legs in no time. He sold them on Craigslist after just one ride.
@@blipco5 I got Dainese Super Speed Tex and Revit Eclipse, I'm getting super hot in both of them, specially in city traffic.. the question is this Knox shirt gonna be better
@@Dan-qs7ki I dunno. When I’m hot and sweaty I want looser fitting.
You'll want the urbane pro. There's an insane amount of mesh!
