My 2019 Toyota Highlander had a left backdoor window that would not go full open or full down with either the door or driver's controls. I tested it with a D7 Scan Tool and it didn't show any failures. Then I found your video and I was able to reset the motor or switch limits. I actually think the limit switches dropped their memory. Thank you Sir.
You are star …i got Toyota Alphard .. problem with battery…got window problem ..i was looking to replace it n nearly cost me £150. But your video saved me all ..so simple n all done now ..thanks alot for your vedio..
Ok let's give it a go. I had a new windshield installed and we live in a one cow town with a hitching post for the local horse and not a toyota dealer for miles and my next project, resetting the camera for the reverse video. You are literally the only video I could find for resetting windows after battery change on a 3 year old TH, so a great big THANK YOU
Dude!!! I have a 2020 Toyota Corolla Thank you SO much I had my battery replaced and they were wanting $175 just to diagnose the problem and it fixed both of my rear windows from the driver panel!! (The rear door window panels always worked though, just couldn’t control from the front) You are the best!!
Many thanks. You saved my $900. I went to Toyota and they suggested to change the regulator motor. There must be some dumb and cheap technician in their service team. I followed the procedure you suggested and all working now.
Had the battery go flat today at the car wash. Got the battery running but I had the same issue. This worked a treat. Many thanks for this simple but very effective video.
Man you saved my 175$ diagnostic test that was offered my Toyota to just to check the issue and will deduct if the repair is performed by them. Your video was awesome it helped! Never again going to dealership they are rip off, everything they charge more, where as discount tyres you get free flat tire repair, just tyres you get free tyre rotation, only half the price compared to Toyota for synthetic oil change. Never again to Toyota
This was very helpful, thank you. We replaced the back glass on our 2004 Vibe. but it wouldn’t lock and remote didn’t work. I did this technique pushing the back hatch glass button and it worked. Thank you very much.
I used some medium to high grade wet/dry sandpaper 800-2000, work your way up with the sandpaper and use water as a lubricant, once you finish with the 2000 it will look opaque, at that point you need to seal the headlight with a clear UV resistant lacquer, once you do that the headlight becomes clear again as the lacquer fills the tiny scratches. Check UA-cam, there are plenty of tutorials.
FYI, this trick does NOT work on the 2011 Toyota Yaris! Only the driver's window will self open and it will not self close despite the five second trick. Nor will any of the other windows.
I got same problem but when it didn’t work with one window from driver panel so tried the same trick to same window button it worked …try individually each window button as well n from driver panel as well ..
i have tried things like this in the past on my 2004 corolla same shape as yours but its the drivers window goes up then back down halfway . will try your way and see and comment. Also mine when the ing is on doesnt go up as fast as your drivers window so jealous of your steering wheel we didnt get the radio controls
@@TheYorkshireDigger features all so country to country down under in OZ mine is a Conquest model , anyway tried this today and no go yep the motor is slow going up compared to the other 3 so maybe new motor cheers anyhow
@@mehumanalien9585 Also your rear windows will only go down halfway because of the rear wheel arch which means it is not possible for the windows to go down all the way in the rear door.
I got a new key for 2015 Toyota Corolla & when I use the old key by accident it would not let me roll it down manually anymore, how can I fix it ? Thanks !
BrIlliant !! Thanks for keeping the video short and to the point. Fantastic to the point unlike other videos I viewed on the subjest. QUESTION for all : If this programing is not done could it be the cause of switches overheating and burning ?? I experienced this today and I really believe that this 5 secs at bottom position and 5 secs at top position is programming end or travel to the Electronic control Unit. I noticed after my engine compartment Main battery was changed recently that the driver window , when it went upwards it seemed to be under extreme load as if the window motor was still trying to push it upwards ?? This could have been the reason for my switch burn-out today ?? Just asking
the problem i have is the window will not even go down When you demonstrated the reset yours went down and you held it for 5 sec my problem it wont go down only the driver side will work any ideal
I disconnected the battery to cha the my brakes and when I turned the car back on only the drivers wi Dow could be controlled but only in small increments, the driver’s controls for the other windows don’t work. The door switches to each passenger door does work. I know it has to be this kind of a problem but seeing as I can’t roll down the passenger windows from the driver’s panel I’m lost how to fix mine.
I can't get this right on my 2018 quest.since I changed the driver's window side.i tried but can't get it right. The window closes fully only when held
Does this work on a 2002 Toyota 4runner? I try to roll up the drivers side window using the auto feature and it goes all the way up and then goes back down... lol. SO ANOYING.
Thanks for your video. My battery got drained coz I left the lights on by mistake (Corolla 2004). Got it jump-started but since then, one rear window has stopped working completely. So I cannot move it at all with the driver control switch or the switch on the passenger door. Will your 5-second trick work for this ? I haven't tried yet but will do.
Follow up: I just followed this procedure on my 2018 4Runner. It worked! Small modification- since my master control didn’t work for the passenger side front/windows, I did did it from those window controls and It worked. The master control woks normally. Thank you!
Help please oh please I am so irritated with my switch. I pull to close the window, the windows goes all the way up and then decides to go half way down and stops. I pull it again and it does the sam thing... When I press it down it goes down and it stays that way.. The only way I can close my window is to nudge the switch little by little until it's closed... What the hell is going on?
1:56. "You in America, a 'Versa' you might call it?". Isn't that what's on the video at time 1:56? Answering what I thought was a question. No, we don't call a 2006 Prius a "Versa."
