We've been trying to research this issue for a long time. Thought problem might be a fuse. Spoke with local Toyota dealer who said it would be $200 to diagnose problem and $900 to to fix. Of course, the diagnostic fee could be applied to repairs. We said battery had been changed, what could we try, but nothing offered. Fury! We thank you so very much. This worked like a charm first time on Toyota Prius Prime. You're a good man!

Thank you. A family member was ready to take the car to the dealership to get this fixed. I told him step 1, read the owners manual on windows. If answer isn’t there proceed to step 2. UA-cam. Starting with step 1 and continuing to step 2 I fixed this problem that that sat unaddressed for 3 weeks in 3min.

Wow like many in the comments who were about to spend $$$$ to have the main switch repaired, I Just watched your informative video, because my passenger front wouldn’t work from the main driver side but works on passenger door soon as I finished watching video ran out to my tecoma cycled passenger side window 4 times then tried the passenger side from driver side main for front passenger. IT WORKED

I just gave up on those windows for over a year. I never have passengers in the back, so I didn't even try the buttons on the rear door panels... duhhhhh.... I kept thinking o m g I don't want to take this too Toyota to fix it...ill just go without using the windows.

Dude, you just saved me from a rip off. It took me less than 60 seconds to solve this issue.
Guess what, I been trying to reach an auto mechanic for the last 48 hours and when I eventually did, he got in my car and checked it out. His recommendation was that I should buy a new switch from “stealership” or online so he can replace it and charge me in addition to that for installation. Well, don’t trust everything they say I don’t care if it’s your favorite uncle. Come to the University of UA-cam and check things out for yourself.
You might go through a couple of videos but guys, it’s always worth it.

Worked perfectly! Thanks man. Got it done & corrected with the flick of a switch (both rear switches off of the main driver switch board) literally just flicking (& holding) the switches a few times each. Awesome! Oh and this was on a 2016 SR5 4Runner, 2WD with the 3rd row seating option. Issue occurred after having rain water dumped into the driver’s side switch board panel at a Whataburger drive through during a heavy rainfall.

This works, I changed my battery on my 2019 toyota highlander, and front passenger side window won't work up or down, I reached over and push down and hold for 5 seconds, then pull and hold for 5 seconds, then it started to work from the control panel on the driver side....thank you

Awesome! Did it once on my 2014 Toyota Prius Three and it worked! The problem occured after having the 12v battery dead for about 6 months and finally changing it but then afterwards the front passenger side window was not working from the driver side's main switch. And the automatic up and down power function wouldn't work from its own passenger side switch, but it still did go up and down if you held the switch all the way. Who knows how much money you saved me from probably having the dealer try to sell me on something.

Worked like a charm 30 second fix rolled down held for five seconds rolled up held for five seconds. Boom problem fixed thank you. I couldn't have afforded to have this fixed.

Just got my car back from the garage this afternoon after some repairs when I crashed it into a lamp post.
Was so happy with the new look of my car. New bumper, new headlight cover, panels, door, etc. Excellent job!
However, I got so upset when only the driver seat power window was working.

This worked on my 2017 RX350. The original factory battery was old and I ran the battery down while I played the radio waiting on someone at an appointment. After a jump start the passenger window wouldn't work while using the driver's side control. Thank you very much!

My 2011Corolla does this, intermittently, on the front passenger side. I was going to replace the master switch on the driver's door, but I can just as easily reach over there and use the passenger side door switch to operate it. Will give your reset a try next time it acts up and let you know. Thanks for posting this helpful video!

Really appreciate this. Just had to change my battery on a 15 sienna. Afterwards, I was on unable to put down the front passenger window from the driver side. The window on the front passenger was able to go down from That seat. This hard reset worked wonders and everything is back to normal!
Perfect. Lowered and held for two, raised and held for 2, that process twice, from the door itself then tested from the master control switch and it worked perfectly. Did that for each of the windows and they all work now. Thank you!

This worked, seems like the 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium will take about 5 times of rolling up and down to reset and start working from the main switch. Your video was simple and worked! I will be trying this the first thing in the morning. I had my battery replaced and now I cannot let the windows down from the driver's side. Each window goes down individually. I was told I needed a new window control switch which cost $650. Never knew about resetting the windows. Can't wait until morning 😀😀

In case this doesn't work, try this instead: with windows all the way down, 1. press down 2. press up 3. press down 4. press up and hold. Do the first 3 in quick succession, no pauses. Dont hold until the 2nd up. This worked for me on my 2007 gx 470. I had this problem today when I installed a new battery then rolled down my windows . The passenger window and rear windows didnt go up. I did the steps above and that fixed the problem. Hope this helps someone in the future. Good luck everyone.
