Greetings! I got this box as the emergency unit. I want to use iPad as the 100% sound source, but this is still fresh to me, and this box serves me as the backup. Then I feel more stable (onstage). May be it's slightly better sounding unit, as my beloved, still working Yamaha TG-100.
I have tried a piano box pro the sounds are horrible, samples produced distortion an every sound have a different volume in the patches, in the b3 hammond sound is the distortion not a big problem, I have send it back to the store, and ordered nou the midi plus, the one u have in the review thanx.
Yes. I’m looking for a small and affordable sound module for organ and string chords to play chords on my Keith McMillan 12 Step while I play bass and sing.
DJ Klem, seriously, WHY CAN'T EVERY REVIEW be just like this? A few points made verbally then a very simple yet complete and, really astutely delivered demonstration. Perfect. Sir, thank you! Keep it up.
Hidden/not so known stuff: - It can receive signal from USB and MIDI IN at the same time so you can play two keyboards, or with someone else - Parameters you can modify by specifying your midi CCs for knobs in your MIDI controller: Chorus effect, 93. Attack, 73. Decay, 75. Release, 72. Resonance, 71. Cutoff, 74. Vibrato, 77. Vibrato rate, 76. Vibrato attack, 78. Portamento on/off, 65. Portamento time, 5. Mono synth, 126 (0). Poly synth, 127 (0). That gives you 16 "custom patches" per session. - Its battery can not only make the synth work and power your MIDI controller but also charge your phone.
@@gameon2000 i just felt I needed to get it out of my chest when I discovered that because it makes the unit way more powerful and its not in the manual or anything. For the price it's a steal 😅
I’m thinking about a looping/busking guitar set-up, that also has a mini-midi keyboard with rhythm pad sounds to work into the loops. I’m not expecting too much, no Carnegie Hall shows, or Apple studios recording session gigs…ha, ha.
Lo probé con mi keytar wireless y logré tocar inalámbrico completamente pero solo se escuchan 5 sonidos bien, los otros salen tan bajo volumen que no se pueden usar. Tal vez vino fallado de fabrica o hay que configurar algo
Thanks for doing the review. I'd welcome similar reviews of midi sound modules that you would play in professional settings. Or at least better sounding. Thanks.
Did you find anything you liked better? I was magnetized to the Dexibell because the sound samples are so long and I'm looking for a killer piano sound on stage. But the price is so, vastly different, I can't get my head around one over the other? I guess I'm willing to give up a little quality for a less pricey product.
oh, for the price, I'm hoping the original S-engine version used on reverb might be useful for my total beginner setup. Heck, at this price, a midi sequencer is sure to cost me more! Looks like a fun toy.
Thanks for sharing this! I'm looking for a module to connect to my Nord Electro 2 for stage sound. I'm nervous about the 1/8 inch out rather than the full size. Wondering if it affects the sound quality?
I am using it in my home studio setup, when I want to play piano on my midi keyboard with the computers completely turned off. It's practically simple. Not the greatest sound, but satisfying. The only minus is not very easy menu setting. Installed battery is a piece of shit. Suddenly, when it loses the juice, it makes horrible white noise, there is no any notification or whatsover. For that price you can't find any other similar solution.
"Hello, how are you, what would you advise me to buy, if what I need is to reproduce a melodic line that I add from a microkorg through midi to an mpc 500, the old modules are a bit expensive, which were connected through console, is there a good substitute for what I want to do? Many greetings!"
Very nicely done overview -- had been wondering if this wou;d work for my daughter so she can play midi keyboard w/o computer; this would fill the bill ok, if not great. Why doesn't anyone make a nice external VST host or something? Subscribed.
Glad I could help! Thank you for the kind words. Actually, a couple of companies have tried the external vst host thing... I think the advent of really powerful (and portable) laptops killed that idea.
Now that Arm chips are becoming the normal in computers and VSTi sdks are becoming compatible with Arm I’d wager we will see another better , cheaper attempt at standalone VST players soon . In the mean time I got a micro pc ( or a compute stick ) for $50 and a 10” touch screen velcroed together sitting on the blank spot of a midi controller lol .
Korg NTS1! It is monophonic (one note at a time), but you can literally download oscillators and effects into it. The cool thing is that it also works as just an effects unit since it has 3.5mm stereo input! You could even plug this thing into it and add reverbs/distortion/chorus etc
Hi, do you have any avice for a cheapest possible sound module for piano (other sounds added are a bonus) , it could be old or new, I just need something cheap and hopefully small because I recently got an M-Audio midi keyboard in the donation bin at my work for free, and I just need something to make sounds out of it. I’m hoping to turn it into the best digital piano I can for the least money. I work at a food pantry I am pretty poor myself. Thank you.
It looks like this is the cheapest. Very similar to the Miditech Pianobox mini in function and price. What I could not confirm yet is if it comes with sounds preinstalled. From this video it looks like it does.
Is this worth for having as a little device with some Roland SC-55 instruments? Btw: i am interestede to get notifications about this channel. So i pressed the Red rectangular button and turned on the notifications :-)
Just a tip, you could use the Arturia Keystep (less than $100 used) to not only set the scale and transpose for playing in key or whatever, but also connect the MIDI OUT from it, to the MIDI IN on the Midiplus Sound Module and you can also sequence melodies as a bonus and even play another synth at the same time using USB or a MIDI Y Splitter to go from the OUT to 2 INs! Just a thought
@@caesardanpapa No problem, man. I had to learn a lot during the pandemic and would ask questions and get abandoned lol. I try to find people who ask questions on these type of videos and provide an answer. You can't be creative and unlock potential without having the basics like transposing notes. Have fun, bro!
Would you buy this? Let me know in the comments.
Lil nice. Sure for little show off at school.

WOW!!!!
All are same with Roland
It has almost the same sounds of the Roland sc-55 maybe the quality is even lower, but you can tweak the VCF, whilst you can't in the sc-55.
I have heard worse "professional" midi sound modules. This seems like a really good purchase

That's interesting. I never used it till the power ran out so I never experienced that. Like you said, there aren't many options at that price.

Very well explained. Thank you
would it still power a device needing a USB Cable A Male to B Male?
While keeping portability in mind, what is the next upgrade you recommend? Something editable with hight sound quality, OSC etc.
I might need to do a bit of research on that.

What are the dynamics between soft and hard like? Seemed kinda flat. That could be a deal breaker.
To be honest there isn't much of a dynamic range.
