      Remington tac 13 has wood furniture as well it’s an exact clone of this but they started 3 years ago it’s a Remington 870 that’s 26 inches. And has a birds head grip as well I love mine I’ll admit the wood furniture shockwave for grip is nicer to look at

    That point on the end is to poke them to make sure they are dead. 😉
    I had one of the first Mossberg 500s with a pistol grip. After the 2nd shot with 00 buckshot, I thought that I had a broken wrist. It was only sprained. So I quickly replaced it with a pistol grip with a folding stock. I also added a flashlight and a laser. Best home defense gun out there. Now I want one like yours! 😂

    That's a badass little shotgun there. I probably would lose the pointy bit, it just seems a little over the top for such a nice looking gun. Normally I'd say the same for the laser, but for what it will most likely be used for(range and home defense) it looks to do the job well. I also do like the mini shell part too.

    Awesome furniture! I'd keep the pointy thing on the end, and probably make a faux propeller for it just for shits and giggles. The green laser is really nice on cloudy days and at night, but it's hard to see in direct sunlight...at least that's been my experience.

    If you are going to buy a mini shell adapter the defender tactical one is the best. I picked one up for my shockwave, and it flawlessly ran mini shells and the 2/34 inch shells no problem, it says 3 inch, too. I haven't tried the 3 inch yet. But I bleave them it's damn good. It's defender tactical mini shell adapter. I don't work for them I'm not just saying that. Its been great for mine.

    One of my favorite firearms. Have a .410, 20 gauge & 12 gauge, each with laser/flashlight combos on pic rail. The .410 stays in my sock drawer. Stealth carry the other 2 in clarinet cases. OpSol minishell adapter is a big plus for the 12 gauge. I like Federal #4 buck minis. Talon Grips also help.

    I like to root-on people I follow as the make it, so well done man. Genuine, good, interesting, high quality guntuber content.
    Also, shotguns are banned in some states based on it's max load "of the longest shells it can take". if that exceeds state limits, it's regulated. Imagine if someone comes out with a 1-foot shotgun shell, just to mess with them! It would make _all_ magazine capacities legal, unless have like, a 10 foot magazine tube. XD

    • @psycopaintball22
      @psycopaintball22 9 місяців тому

      Not sure which states you're talking about, but here in NJ, the capacity limit only applies to semi auto, but until there's a semi-auto that can cycle minishells, or your footlongs... I forget where I was going with this lol

    As of today, a 590 S shockwave is $599 at Academy. A regular Shockwave is $449. An OPSol Flex Adapter about $20. A Mav 88 is $229. How often are you going to load multiple types and lengths of shells in a shotgun? Most, if not all, will find the round that works for them, and their family, and load that.

  • @BankAnglerBangs
    @BankAnglerBangs 9 місяців тому +4

    I understand the that you can hold more and there's less recoil. But does the shorter style bullet change the effectiveness of the round???

    • @1ShotTV
      @1ShotTV  9 місяців тому +4

      We’re gonna find out very soon! Torso on the way. I’m sure they’re less effective than full size loads but we’ll see how much

  • @VTPSTTU
    @VTPSTTU 9 місяців тому +2

    Thanks for the video.
    I know that the marketing people at Mossberg will insist that they not make a kit to retrofit the original Shockwaves to fire all shells, but if they cared about their customers, they would. That would be the ultimate way to show the customers that they really care about making things right for everyone.
    I would like the option to use the mini-shells in order to get more capacity.
    In terms of recoil, I think that any 2-3/4 inch shell that sends eight or nine 00 buck pellets at 1200 fps or less is pretty easy to control. I don't think I've tried anything rated for 1250 fps. The 1325 fps 00 buck loads are controllable but not as easy.
    I don't see much use for the spike. If you like it, you should keep it. The gun is yours, you should decorate it as you wish. I wouldn't add a spike.
    To me, part of the value of the Shockwave is that it fits in a small space. The red dot sight on the top makes it a little bigger, so I'm not as fond of that. Likewise, the foregrip that you are using adds bulk that just doesn't appeal to me. Again, this is your gun, and you should accessorize as you wish. I'm just less enthusiastic with changes that add much bulk.
    The shell saddle on the side looks very nice. In terms of appearance, that's my favorite side saddle setup. In terms of function, I would lean towards those velcro shell holders. I like the idea of being able to keep an extra tray of shells in a pocket or just stuck the front of velcro on a vest. If I used up the shells in one tray, I could pull the old one off the receiver and slap another one on. The look isn't anywhere near as nice, and I can't say that I really think I would ever survive a gunfight at shotgun range long enough to fire ten rounds through a Shockwave. If I did survive that long and were still trying to shoot, being able to add another tray of shells that easily would be nice.

    I'm one of those weirdos that is right handed but left-eye dominant. Since my dad is a lefty, he taught me to shoot a rifle left handed, but I picked up handguns much later in life (despite having shot my dad's pistols a handful of times when i was a kid, and tried shooting those southpaw, too, which didn't go well.)
    It was relatively easy to teach myself to shoot a rifle right-handed, but pistols took a LOT longer. So once red dots on carry guns became popular, I gave it a try. Even though I had probably around 60k rounds shooting roght handed with irons on a pistol, I immediately began shooting significantly better with a red dot views through either eye. I've now even converted a couple others to the dark side (shooting red dots on pistols) and am going to try to convert my dad next. Though he now has the Kimber Ultra that I talked my late grandfather into buying which is equipped with a CT laser, I think I'll still be able to get him to mill his pistols for an RMR. If nothing else, it'll be good for the inheritance LMAO

    That's exactly the way I have my Shockwave set up. This may sound silly, but, I added a bayonet to my PDW long gun ... After seeing what happened in Kenosha Wisconsin it occurred to my that if I had something sharp and pointy on the end of a rifle it may discouraged someone from grabbing at my weapon. I'd leave the spike.

    Im still finalizing my shockwave build. I originally thought I would get the green CT laser because of the low profile ness and I wanted to keep everything light and compact. The ones decked out with the full length rails and tons of stuff on them look good but that was not what I wanted. However, the lack of any type of light made me go with the streamlight tlr rm 2g. this way I get both green laser and light in one since its my bump in the night gun I wanted the light. I modified the FAB DEF. Mlok forend to fit, ditched the stock strap and made matching custom OD green paracord hand straps front and rear. OD green Esstac style velcro side saddle. Defender tactical makes a mini shell adaptor like the 590s for 25 bucks it looks better than the Opsol I havent added it yet as the mini shells are hard to get anyways. Looking at magpul MS3 single point sling for it and wanted to add a few extra velcro spots on the sling so I can slap a few extra side saddles on the sling as well. I was hoping to find a velcro bandilaro that would work with the velcro side saddle but the only one I could find had the velcro the wrong way so the side saddle cards wont stick :( My plan was to have a few different colors specific to the load shot, buck, slug so you could easily swap between if needed. I would probably keep the spike unless you plan on using a scabbard with it.

I got my birds grip figured just need to print the final version I integrated the pressure pad for the streamlight into the backside of the grip slightly recessed so a little extra squeeze with the middle and ring finger will control the streamlight and added holes to pass the paracord through so its not hooked to the butt and that leaves that area open for a sling attachment. She is a one of a kind and best way but that is IMO

    You should check out Defender Tactical, they make adapters for both the regular and the 590s to reliably feed 1 3/4" up to 3" shells and IMO work better cause the 590s from what I've read has issues of their cartridge arrestor falling out really easily.

Although I appreciate the flexibility to use 2 3/4" and 3" magnum shells on occasion, I use the federal shorty shells and aguila minishells almost exclusively. If someone came out with a dedicated minishell shotgun with action and stroke shortened 1"+, I would snatch one up. Ditto for a dedicated semi-auto, especially a reimagined Mag-7.

  • @matthewhall7976
    @matthewhall7976 9 місяців тому

    I thought the spike was knick named a hole puncher because it is primarily used on door breaching shotguns.. so when you push the point in you get no sway on the muzzle for when you need to hit both hinges fast with no barrel sliding up or down the down when you press it to the door to blow the hinges off.. but ironically the term 'hole puncher' and it being where historically, a bayonet would be fixed it is a common misunderstanding because of that confusing little lap over of historically used and modern day purpose designed applications of the tool in use..👍
    I originally thought they where for muzzle jabbing someone too, mainly because games like call of duty give them particular attachments a melee/gun butt damage increase..😅

    Thanks for the awesome video. Iv wanted a shockwave for a while. Now I know to the the 590s shockwave 👍. I love the wood stock. I had been looking at the night stick before. Super helpful to see all that. The poker at the end looks cool but I have a feeling I'd end up poking myself with it😂

    Oh my gosh I want one so bad 😭
    I've often thought about buying a birdshead grip and turning my Mossberg 600AT into a Shockwave. I have an extra barrel that was cut to 15in many years ago (thnx Dad 🙄), although the gun always wears the 18in bbl I bought for it. Still though, IDK if the birdshead is compatible with the 600AT or not. I'd be taking a chance if I bought it.
    Awesome set up, thanks for sharing.

    I never owned or fired a shotgun. Nor have I ever wanted the type of shotgun you have. Well all that being said now I seen this video I think the shockwave would make a perfect first shotgun in the configuration you have it in.
    I am on the road a lot and this would be perfect for me

    It may make an interesting video to compare the 3 ways to run minishells in a Mossberg under potential real-life conditions. How you are holding the gun (barrel/ejector port pointed down/up), how hard you are racking it (pistol grip racking is different from 3-point racking), and if you are running or crawling all impart forces on a minishell as it leaves the mag tube.
    In short, how does the minishell solutions from the 590S, the OPSol Flex Adapter, and the Defender Tactical stack up against each other in simulated real home defense situations?
    Obviously, if you already own one of these, you can test yourself. Like a poorly secured pistol holster flopping around, a minishell rattling around in the receiver as you are defending yourself is not desirable.

    OK..ALRIGHT...OK...2 questions... 1. Why not an extended tube?( Sure foe shortness.. but).. and they need a 3 1/2 inch high brass shock wave.

    You should add the Carlson's barrel for the Shockwave. It looks super cool with all the vented holes and fiber optic. Plus it helps control recoil lift. It would look so cool on yours and complement its looks!
