      not to roast, but I suggest you get yourself a spotting-scope for that beast. You'll be glad you did.
      They also make & sell adapters that allow you to attach your phone and be able record the footage of target hits. Priceless! Well, $6/round priceless.

      I get the feeling that long range shooting especially with cheaper rounds is definitely in your future and then really stepping up that .338 monster to a mile at least! Like the other gentleman said, a good spotting scope will help. Thanks for the great videos and the time put into making them is appreciated

      Think you did great considering your zeroed at 50 yrds.

    • @ShastaBean
      @ShastaBean 4 місяці тому +5

      @@nelhead4807 there's less than 1" difference between drop with a 100 yrd zero (57") vs a 50 yrd zero (56.2") @ 500 yards.
      @ 12:51 he chambers the round with the front mat rolled up. When he fires that 1st hit we see...it's no longer rolled up and the box of ammo is now under the rifle. So.....yeah. I'd have to see the whole raw footage to even believe that was a 1st shot. It's not that easy. Not even remotely close.
      But that eldest gentleman knows what he is doing. Keep him around!
      (if I plugged in values correctly)
      The drop on a 500 yard shot with a 2600 fps 300 gr bullet, according to Hornady's calculator and 0.716 BC says 57"....so, nearly 5 feet of drop.
      The drop on a 400 yard shot with a 2600 fps 300 gr bullet, according to Hornady's calculator and 0.716 BC says 32"....their chart shows them just 15" low. That's a 17" difference, or nearly 1.5 feet.

    I discovered version that helmet can save from 556 762x39 from a distance of 300-400 meters .
    Because both this calibers will have 500joules and that is like 9x19. Helmet can hold 9x19.
    The only question is how a helmet withstand tipped shape of of bullets.

There are thousands of drop charts for the .338 that will give you a good start point, then fine tune your setup with confirmation shots.

    It’s crazy to think that when I was in Marine Corps boot camp back in 96 we were qualifying at the range shooting 500yds iron sights with a m16 20in 5.56 and mostly everyone was hitting the man sized silhouette.

    That was a damn good shot man! You say you're not a long range shooter? I can't tell, lol.
