That 308 blank blew out sideways. I would definitely not mount that anywhere near head level. I just ordered all this gear recently from Fith Ops. I also got the bear deterrent shells and Launcher. The bear deterrent shells can also be used with the 12 ga. alarm. It would be particularly handy to protect your food supply from prowling bears. For campers or other outdoorsmen, I would recommend both, the launcher and the trip alarm for the bear deterrent shells. Think of it this way. You have a trip alarm set with a bear deterrent shell. A bear tries to get to your food but is startled by the shell going off and he runs away...BUT...he is hungry, and his nose and empty stomach are telling him to go back and try again. If the bear returns while, or before you finish setting another deterrent shell with the trip wire, you can fire one from the launcher and immediately reload another shell in the launcher. It doesn't hurt to also have some bear spray and a 44 magnum...for the really persistent and stubborn bear.
We defiantly recommend securing it with screws or nails, over wrapping it with string, so it won't fly out like that.
well once the Alarm goes off , that's your signal to get your firearm ready, I would think.
well glad you showed that, I've contemplated on getting these, just curious of the levels of sound.
I have seen they have the pepper spray ones now also. great idea. Thank you.
No problem! If you have questions on our 12g trip alarm, oc trip alarm or anything else just reach out! our customer service is sales@fithops.com. Thanks!
i live next to the ocala forest so i need this for bears what are the pepper spray shells called?
Use 12 ga MAGNUM blanks. Much better bang. Also water proof them with primer sealer and Lexel caulk at the business end.
That's awesome have foxes in my yard tearing up the trash nightly
send us some videos of it working if you can!
Excellent demonstration. 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Is it safe to launch the flare from your hand as a pen flare?
You can yes. We do it often when testing. I recommend wearing ear protection as it's very loud when that close.
Are are designing one that's easier to hold in the hand to set off and it will be released in 2024.
When would that be exactly, just curious. I am interested.@@fithopsllc
They work great 👍
Would a lighter animal like a coyote set it off? How many pounds of pressure is required to pull then pin?
Yes, people will actually get these for smaller animals and use our box of "pest scare" blanks.
0:23 screws, not nails 👍
Awesome!
Thank you.
Can you put live ammo inside of it?
sure, it'll go in. Don't do that though as you risk getting in trouble.
You'll shoot your eye out, kid.
can you do one with buckshot just to see what happens?
There are other videos of people trying it. It doesn't much since the case does not offer much compression and the blast has no focus. Now adding a piece of 4 inch pipe to the setup...
Now in a subdivision is a different story it could be fun
Where do I buy the blanks?
You can get them on our other website FithOps here: fithops.com/collections/flash-bang
Is the centering system for the 308 found on the internet, What's her name please ?
You can order 308s here: fithops.com/collections/flash-bang
along with the adaptor.
Just buy one that uses the .22 ramset they are cheaper and easier to get you can get the in a box of 100
which one is the loudest (it seemed to be the 12 Ga, at 0:58 is that right...?
They are all around 130dB, 12g being the loudest. You can get larger 12g blanks, that can go upwards of 170dB.
@@fithopsllc thanks for that reply and info.
Seems like condensation would kill the primer pretty quickly.
How long the primer lasts in the weather will depend on the severity of it and the type of primer. Most cases, it should last for days without any issues.
If you expect a lot of wet weather for a long period of time, I recommend covering the primer with a waterproof material. You can even use our 12g waterproof blanks.
interesting, along the lines of the 308 blank, do you make one in 5.56mm blank? or can a 5.56mm blank be used with the 308 blank?
You might be able to get 5.56mm in with the 308 adapter, by modding it to fit. Bur I have not tried it myself.
What if I put a real 12 gauge shell in it? Maybe make a video of that
Someone else on YT already did. It basically does the same thing, but bbs also spill out. Because there is no barrel the bbs don't project outward.
What name is adoptor
We have the .22 adapter, 308 adapter, 209 primer adapter and a digital adapter. You can find it all on FithOps.com thank you!
Where can I buy the 209 primers
I recommend local gun stores or looking online. I recommend you get 22s and use our 22 adaptor instead, as they are easier to get. We sell both on our other website FithOps.com.
You didn’t show where and how the end was connected.
It was just wrapped around the tree
Why is there no Turkish translation?
We are a small American company. We can work on getting other translations in though. I apologize.
Why blanks?
Using live rounds in this kind of device is illegal.
So you don't pepper the shit out of everyone with small bb's
Why dumb yet obvious questions? One is the kick would launch or destroy the trip device and im not even the promotor and told you that
Machine gun Kelly!
I don't see this being very effective. I was expecting a much louder noise
It's very loud. This was recorded on a phone, so the microphone isn't the best at capturing the noise. This is why I included the sound ratings in the video.
@@fithopsllc Ahh... got it
Why use blanks?! 🤣
& it can start a forest fire 😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Oh, shit. We got secondaries from our trip alarm!
Defiantly only use our primer versions (209 primer adapter or .22 adapter, or our new digital adapter) if you are using this around flammable objects and/or materials.
