The PSA Rock convinced me to give 5.7 x 28 a try, since the price was much more reasonable than Smith & Wesson or (gasp) FN, especially since PSA ran a sale that included a Holosun optic. The 5.7 pistols can be dismissed as a niche weapon, but all the testing I've seen says to me that they're a good idea for situations in which you need devastating terminal ballistics, but absolutely no overpenetration. And a twenty-three round magazine, that just makes me smile.
Not too shabby at all! I think those edge out the Gold Dots. I think they earned an episode of Ballistic Chickens 🐓 imho lol. Great video as always good sir 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
@thegundungeon on mine, it is not bad could it be better. Yes, it could, but not bad for a stock trigger. What impressed me most about that gun was it's tempo barrel.
@@Disastrous.Affect they don’t specify why on their website but they do reference ultimate performance for short barrels several times, so my assumption would be that the bullet is designed to perform at the lower velocities and would probably come apart rapidly from rifle velocities.
Thanks for a very useful test! Lucky me, a few months ago I stocked up on this cartridge because the Gold Dot was too darn expensive! Will they never realize that they would sell a lot more if they just made it a little less expensive?..............................elsullo
Or for anyone concerned with good shooting accuracy from little recoil and a small bullet drop, and seriously limited over-penetration. If anyone thinks that is "effeminate" I say, "FINE, I don't follow macho fashions."...........................elsullo
A quick but enjoyable video. I did some research and have a clearer understanding of penetration. This looks pretty good. By the way: Congratulations Kentucky! The first State called for President Elect Donald Trump!

@@gregcampwriter yes. My wife uses it for bed side duty lol
Oh yeah I’m DEFINITELY buying these at least 10 cases 😱😱😱🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This looks like a really good choice, really consistent performance.
@@ThePenn7 yes for handguns this is so far the best I’ve tested of mainstream ammo makers.
How is this comment from 2 weeks ago when it says this video was posted 22 minutes ago??

Not my first choice but it is an option and options are good. It should be effective if needed and used. Thank you for test.
What happens if you remove the red insert
Probably nothing except maybe clogs with denim…? That’s the intent of the insert, make it a bit better through heavy clothing

@@steelpunisher6944 lol that they did. Gonna have to put them in some poultry lol
I have one in a m&p it is fun to shoot. But it is expensive. Great video, by the way. And yes, you do have it down, Pat. Lol
@@TimDavis-wc7rc how’s the trigger on the m&p?

👍🏻
Why "for handguns only"?
Ever since I saw this cartridge, I thought it would be a great alternative to 22 magnum for small game hunting.🤷♂

The feeding ramp in ar’s make it hard for the blunt tip to feed

5.7 is a big-bore magnum cartridge in the land of the Lilliputians
Looks like a good round for a woman to carry, or a man that plays women’s sports…lol
@@18wheelsandadozen6shooters5 lol 😂 my wife does love it
Probably the latter - the grips on 5.7 pistols are pretty big
