I am speechless..... they sound just the same as when i was in my 20's and im 63 now. They look cool, healthy, which is rare for hard life rockers. This made my day. But did they get an album together since 1997?
Sounded great, even though they did a highly condensed version of I'm Your Captain. This is the lineup that should have been touring the last 20+ years. Don & Mel, get it together!!!
Hi there Vivian . I hope you’re doing fine and having a wonderful day today ? Didn’t know one of my favorite all time band . They make me feel like am 20 again 😊
They all look & sound so great..&.Mel has better moves than he had in the early days 🙂. Luv all these guys..& wish the band was still 2gether. 🙂🙂☮☮✌✌💕💕
so there i was back in 1977 at the high school library..( yes there were things called libraries) shuffling through a shit load of donated albums...i come across this LIVE double album GFR live...so i walk over to the record player ( there were things called record players) plug in my 70s headphones ( since it was a library) and put the vinyl on the table and WHAM!!!!....that live GFR album was recorded in 1970 and never heard of them....so 3 times the librarian comes over to me and taps me on the head because im singing out loud and wonder why all the kids were staring and laughing at me...the librarian told me to come by after class and she gave me that double album set...MY FAVORITE SONG was and still is INSIDE LOOKING OUT..and the live version IS A FUCKING KILLER!!
I love the Funk!!! I still have the vinyl record album of 'E Pluribus Funk'. you're the one-of-a-kind rock&roll band that would ever linger in the hearts of real rock fans. I am a great fan!
Had a chance to see GFR around this time when they were playing at the Taste of Colorado in Denver (a far cry from Shea Stadium), hoping to take my son. I wasn't feeling well and did not go to see them, something I still regret today. When I watch this it makes me wish I was back in the early '70's again ("I'm getting closer to my home" - home being the '70's). Mark, Don, & Mel were incredible and were just never as good apart from one another; its such a shame they parted ways. But, as with all things, nothing lasts forever.
Saw them as a 3-piece when they got back together in '96, then again with the orchestra for the recording of the 'Bosnia' album in '97. They were incredible in '96, but seemed a little worn out by '97. Farner is playing solo in Detroit tonight(7/19/19).
Dynamite Funk! This is the First time I've ever seen this... The boys are so photogenic on TV! I agree that Soundstage, Classic VH1 or A&E should grab Mark for the dream performance we all crave! Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame...HELL YEAH!
Flashback to 1969 and onward still !!! 👍👍 ❤Grand Funk Railroad❤ ✌ Without Mark Farner, it's not the same quality, so not the same band. Wish I could have saw him solo even. They were a great band.
Actually the Bosnia release was a compilation of GFR California tour dates, while the proceeds supposedly went to the Bosnia relief efforts. Great to see the original members together in 1997 no matter what, even with the addition of a keyboard player to the mix.
These guys ought to get together for just one performance to bring awareness and help protest the shitty water people are now forced to drink in Flint!
@Fuzzy Butkus Brewer and Mel still play in their version of Grand Funk. Which is not Grand Funk without Mark, obviously. Mark is up for reunion but those two are not.
Grand Funk. One of the best American Rock n Roll bands ever.
They have been thru a lot of crap that they didn't deserve.
Mark Farner is Grand Funk Railroad! !
There is no more of a natural musician anywhere than Mark Farner.
I am speechless..... they sound just the same as when i was in my 20's and im 63 now. They look cool, healthy, which is rare for hard life rockers. This made my day. But did they get an album together since 1997?
There has been no new music because the band kicked Mark Farner out decades ago. The GFR touring these days is a scam. No Mark, no GFR.
@@daves4645 Straight up. Mark, Don & Mel or it's a tribute band.
Mark is grand funk railroad, he sounds "GREAT" rock on Mark
wow what a blast from the past , both the band and the old good morning america show hosts .
excellent harmony... tight and right on key at every turn.
Great point Exclamation point
Sounded great, even though they did a highly condensed version of I'm Your Captain. This is the lineup that should have been touring the last 20+ years. Don & Mel, get it together!!!
Farner never sounded better, an amazing talent.
I was gonna say the same thing...amazing voice!
Short dude.

So underrated, so many good times listening to this music
GFR was the hit during my high school years. Can't stop listening to them up till now 2019.
One of my favorite bands of all time....they still look and sound good! I wonder where they are now 2015.
+Vivian Farmer Still touring. Check out their website

Hello Diana . It’s nice to hear you love them.. ahh nothing beats the good old days . Where are you from ?
Farner was the perfect rock n roll front man.

That’s awesome. Love that album👍
Many good memories.... My idols when I was teenager
Flint? I'm from St. Clair Shores. Loved you guys forever. Closer to Home. Wow your music took me closer to my Strat. 😎
I love the Funk!!! I still have the vinyl record album of 'E Pluribus Funk'. you're the one-of-a-kind rock&roll band that would ever linger in the hearts of real rock fans. I am a great fan!
@Rough - 'E Pluribus' , round, silver, cover- 'coin' with their likeness. Cool.
Mark, Don and Mel are Grand Funk Railroad... we need another reunion...
Sadly, we're still waiting 😕.
WORTH THE WAIT!!! M.O'B
Great musicians, great voices.
Even when they broke up in the 70s in the reunited in the 90s they still kick ass
My best friend Blane used to play this on piano, and I would sing the upper harmony with him..in our '70s high school world...
RIP Blane...
One of the best rock n roll bands ever
This song never gets old..memories..memories
Farner great voice
Mark Farner IS GFR. Without him, they are not GFR.
got that right
Mark Farner had a big influence on guitarists. Listen to his guitar chops on "I Come Tumblin"

R. Wilk the Bosnia album was recorded at the Palace of Auburn Hills north of Detroit Michigan in 1996.
oh okay, thank you for the clarification on that.
Still bring out the tears love to you Mark Farner!
cada vez. q me voy acercando a my home town. me encanta escuchar esta canción.
Way wayover 25 years and looking fresh ass smile. What a star!

Get real. NO FARNER, NO FUNK!
Who do you think that singer is?
Classic band!
Awesome, still amazing as ever. WOHOO!!!
Не могу найти весь концерт гранда. Мы все улетали, в начале 70х!
Oh loooord!! :( Why did you stop? When we talk about rock and roll we have to mention Grand Funk.
una de mis canciones de toda la vida, la seguire escuchando...a ser posible hasta el dia de mi muerte...
Это была великая группа, всех времён и народов!!!

Modeled our band after these guys in 1972.
What a wonderful voice

NOW YOU KNOW WHY I SAW GRAND FUNK, FIVE TIMES!!!M.O'B
No Mark = NO FUNK.
That is Farner!
These guys ought to get together for just one performance to bring awareness and help protest the shitty water people are now forced to drink in Flint!

@Peter O at least nowdays Mark says he wants the reunion before they all drop dead. I heard it myself. I wonder what the other two would say to that.
This is fabulous. Farner is awesome
what a sound
Thanks John! national Tv needs to book Farner now and rock the nation.
Это просто круто! Как ещё?
what?
Super FUNK!!!!❤❤❤ Forever MARK DON &MEL!!!!!!
Never saw Grand Funk. Loved them back in the day. The band named Grand Funk now don't care for them
ABBA is in the RRHOF! WOW...makes perfect sense to me!!
Grand Funk ... por y para siempre!!!
Drove from Santa Barbara, to see them at the Forum . They were playing with Ten Years after. Do I need to say anymore?
I was at that concert!
This band is great 👍.
The Funk Will Rise to the HOF.Long live the Funk.
...are you really scheming ...to take my ship away from me ? Camera turns to Don Brewer .
How prophetic.
Rock legends... 👍
So great
Grandes son super exelente vos musica de verdad
Life had hope back then..now its all turned to shit...no more real music
Damn that was on point! Not being in the R&R HOF make that a joke.
The lyrics are very foreshadowing
The album where they caught fire for awhile. Then they forgot their heavy roots and sold records.

Who the hell would pay to see GFR without Farner?
Loving it baby tchit
I actually emailed the President of the RRHOF and demanded it. He generally beat around the bush and said it was not gonna happen.
@Jeezuz94 :o that's a day after my birthday...i must have been hungover that day lol that's almost 15 years ago!!!!
Yeah, you could be my captain 😉❤😊
Mark farner has some hell of a voice
Forced their front-man out of the group. Ah, the strange world of rock and roll!
I guess they performed the short version!
The Drummer's name is Don.He's the original drumer.
Don is a back stabber he did mark bad
oh shit thats on my birthday
couldnt have asked for a better band (:
Gotta say it. It is not the same without Brewer playing drums. We hear you Don. Sucks the ego competition.
im 13 and that parker fly looks cool
Don and Mel are terrible for what they did to Mark
Greedy losers.
I think it's in their blood!
💖✊🙌👏👏👏😘
The top rock group in the 70’s. Sad they screwed Mark Farner. No Mark Farner, no Hall of Fame.
well they cut a lot out but did keep more of the part i like ..oh well will try to see if i can get it all 1 day
grand funk railroad without MARK FARNER IN IT IS LIKE a brand new vette with no gas, none
