Great tips on focusing on the gold coins also learnt from watching you dig your plugs - thanks 😊
Thanks so much Lisa, I am really glad you enjoyed this video.
I was trying to dig as clean as possible to but its so hard with just one hand. I will be doing a video soon on how to properly dig a neat plug though and next time with both hands to make it easier.
Really glad you enjoyed and thanks again😊
Beer money 👍👍 I’ll subscribe now .. Ps love the drop down table on the rear door... Awesome idea cheers from cointector Australia.. ( Paul )
Thats it man, always nice to pop a few out. And cheers heaps mate, was an idea I had during covid and so had plenty of time to build and work out how I wanted it to be. Turned out really good and comes in very handy. Thanks heaps for the Sub👍👍
No problems I’ll check some videos soon
Great vid. I learnt a lot from you today. Thanks.
Thanks heaps @Brainspace Im really glad you enjoyed and found this video helpful mate. This was a great day out detecting👍⛏
Yesssss....picked up a few thing here that i'll try out tomorrow. Cheers heaps.
Great to hear Leslie and thanks so much for watching🙂 Be sure to check out our other videos running the Minelab Equinox also. Best of luck and happy hunting mate👍
Good job once again 🤗 your channel is growing more day by day keep up the skills
Thanks so much Kayley, I am very happy with how it's all moving along so far. It won't be to long now and we will hit that 1000 mark! Thanks so much again😊
The rivet/ screw you found near the start is a Dzus fastener, used as a quick release screw for panels on cats
Wow great stuff @Kyle Felsman and thanks heaps for the information mate. I always love finding out what these miscellaneous items are that we find when out detecting👍⛏
Those V energy drink lids as well, they ring up exactly like a goldie as well. I've hit parks in Sydney where they are everywhere and you have to dig all of them to get the goldies.
You are right mate the V bottle tops are another one that can be bloody confusing. If it sounds like a goldie, it's to good not to dig up👍⛏
I picked up $88 in gold coins 2 days ago and $48 and a silver wedding band the night before.
Wow @Scott Corrie that is sensational hunting mate 👏 If only every detecting session and site produced hauls like that. I would definitely be reworking that area asap again for more👌 Happy digging out there mate👍🤝⛏️
One of my favourite videos, really helpful. Thanks Dave
Thanks so much @DAVE WHEELER I am really glad you enjoyed watching mate. I will be shooting another coin shooting video very soon showing a few more tips and tricks as I go.
Thanks again and happy hunting mate👍⛏
What's your pinpointer brand , also just set my nox up per your guidlines. Hope to use it soon
I use the Minelab Pro-find-35 Pinpointer Edward and love it!
Best of luck and I really hope my settings help you on your next hunt👍⛏
Very informative video! My guess as to the Dunlop Tyre VIP tag is that you put it on your key ring with your car keys. The tag woulf be registered to your name and phone number. If someone were to find your keys and bring it back to a Dunlop dealer, the dealer could call you and get your keys back to you.
Thanks heaps for watching @Andy Gold and I am really glad you enjoyed mate. I will be hitting up this same site again very soon in search for more with the new 6 inch coil.
I reckon your spot on there to with the dunlop tyre tag, a great piece to find.
Cheers again mate and happy hunting out there👍⛏
1. great vid, good to know that i can skip over some targets as well as knowing the number for coins.
2. why does this guy not have more than 2k subs, this is great and i subbed
3. quite often when i am using my equinox 800 i will be digging for ages and the target seems to move. i don't own a handheld pinpointer as i am quite new, would investing in one make all the difference? if so, what type is good for it's price?
cheers!
Thanks so much @Spencer Johnson I am really glad you enjoyed watching this video mate. There is so many neat tricks to learn with the Minelab Equinox 800 that can be so helpful.
UA-cam is definitley a hard platform to master and gain engagement to but it slowly seems to be taking off now and I am building more and more subs everyday🙂 Also thanks heaps for the Sub mate, I really appreciate your support👍👍
And yes a pinpointer is nearly a must have when out detecting for coins and relics. It helps reduce your recovery speed time making it so much easier to locate target in the hole straight away.
I would suggest purchasing either the Minelab 35-PRO FIND or even the Xp Mi4 is a great little handheld unit to. They are both very similar in capability but the XP definitley has a few nice options, including a built in internal battery which is rechargeable. Unlike the 35 pro that uses the 9v.
I shared a video not to long ago showing both my pinpointers and the rest of my equipment used when out detecting. Best of luck and I hope it helps.

Even us Yanks over here in So Cal enjoy this one - Awesome!
Thanks so much @Dave P I am really glad you enjoyed watching!
This was a great day digging and plenty of useful tips and tricks to use when out detecting next👍
Best of luck and happy hunting out there mate⛏️
The thing you don’t know why it would be on a key ring is a tool to open news paper box’s. 😮
Solid coin hunt outing. The settings info helped, but left me wondering about the "advanced" you had set for tone breaks, target tones, tone volume, etc.? Also, I think I am late on the detect-ed pouch! Sold out everywhere. Must be great. Any leads on one would be nice too. All the best to you.
Thanks so much Howard. Really glad you enjoyed and found helpful mate. My advanced settings for the tone breaks, volume etc have also been changed to help work these trashy sites. Be sure to check out my Equinox 800 Settings video also, there I show how to setup and best use the Equinox for coin and relic hunting.
And yes the Detect-Ed Pouches are amazing, this one has been great to use over the years. They certainly are very popular, I highly recommend them🙂
Keep your eyes peeled on the Detect-Ed website to, as I'm sure they will have more in stock again soon. Cheers mate👍⛏
Followed your settings for coin hunting 👍 just over 2 hours i found over 20 coins , I would send a pic but no idea how. Nick
Wow that is epic work @Nick Triker nicely done indeed mate👌 The settings certainly help make those good tones stand out amongst the rubbish!
Best of luck and keep on hunting, you are killing it! Well done again man👍⛏️
Yip yip I use the Vanquish 340 and same numbers for $2 and JD caps 21-22
I appreciate you sharing your settings!
Most welcome Peggy and I really hope it helps you for future hunting🙂⛏
So. A 21 over here in the states is a copper coin. Why the difference?
Great vid and nice tally there.. yes total not tv hahaha i hit the local skate park too. 👍
Haha cheers mate, really glad you enjoyed this video. The old skateparks and rec reserves are always great sites to hit. Unfortunately alot around my area have been covered in gravel over the years though, so only a few to chose from now but they seem to regenerate pretty quick👌
G’day Mate
Do you have an opinion on the Equinox 800 against the Deus11
There seems to be a considerable amount of liking of the Deus now, which brings me to a more experienced thought of Minelab bringing out a more advanced Equinox
Minelab have for many years now worked like this
I have decades of gold detection experience, and for a considerable number of years mine lab would bring out a new top of the range detector every 18 -24 months which was annoying because of the additional costs to professional detectorist
It’s called business and the advancement of technology but it hits our hip pocket
Regards
I buddy I really appreciate your videos on metal detecting. Can you please help me out in how do I stop getting pull taps? I need some help please I want to detect all Australia coins can you please give me some help? My name is Joe I’m in Sydney Australia Seven Hills area I have the equinox 800
great videos
Thanks so much @detectando USA I am so glad you enjoyed watching! There is plenty more exciting videos to come in future, I look forward to seeing you there. Cheers heaps mate👍⛏
Great tips well worth the watch cheers 👍
Thanks so much @Peter Bevan this was a great little hunt and always nice to be sharing some handy tips as I detect.
I really appreciate you watching, cheers heaps mate and happy hunting out there👍⛏️
Fantastic mate luv me nox on the beach 🏖 learning new things all the time 💪💙🇬🇷🏖
Thanks so much @Beach Metal Detecting Crete I am really glad you enjoyed watching.
The Equinox is such an amazing machine to run and always plenty of new tricks to learn as you go to!
Best of luck and happy hunting out there for future🙂⛏
Nice tips great hunt👍👋
Thanks so much mate. Always plenty there to be found👍⛏
If you order the mine lab be aware they don't provide an ac power supply and no owners manual
I think that the recovery speed should be slow in order to get a better depth..Do you have another way to increase the depth ?
Over the past 5 years using the Equinox 800 @abood obaidat I have never really had to much of an issue with depth and finding targets quite deep down.
I also like to swing quick when I hunt so a higher recovery speed set to 7-8 works well for me.
You are definitely right though, you could always drop that recovery speed down a little maybe to 4-5 and gain that little bit extra depth. You would just have to swing slower as you detect, making sure to not miss any signals.
Best of luck and happy hunting out there mate👍⛏️
@@DigItDetecting
Thank you very much man 👍
all the respect and the Grateful to you I owned this machine a year ago and I'm still weak to work on it I want your evaluation of this item in relation to other devices There are those who say it is a failure and there are those who say it is wonderful .. thanks
On the goldys mate :)
Love popping a few goldies mate. Not as fun as the old pre decimals but helps with the never ending fuel bill to😅
What would normally ring up at 30 -35 ? Just curious I’m new at this and when I dig those targets it ends up being an old metal pipe or rusty object
To be honest Lisa it can be a range of different items, however generally the higher the TID, then the more conductive the item is...such as copper, brass, alloy etc but it can be tricky as sometimes even a big buried sheet of lead or tin can ring up as a high TID also. Generally if its a short sharp high tone though, you can count on it being a coin or even better a ring🙂 Sometimes I just have to dig those curious targets⛏
There should be or might be a separate tone on your detector for IRON which is in steel pipe. You might get a single tone or double tone at the same time, picking up the iron and and another kind of material both at the same time.
Also, if your hitting IRON, it might/should also show up on your meter. I'VE never used a MINELABE EQUINOX 800 BEFORE BUT I've been watching them being used on you-tube and they look alot easier to use than alot of the other one's. The one that I've been using and I've had it for over a month and a half is the, " GARRETT AT MAX ".
Are those real gold coins? or just gold coloured?
Hi there @Bob Gorbenko these are our Australian $1 & $2 gold coins. Gold in colour but no real gold in them. They do however add up quite quickly when hunting and help fund the adventures🙂⛏️ Cheers heaps for watching mate.
That intro had me pissing myself.😂. If iam after current coins i will hit up sporting fields. My record is about $280 /$300 .in 9 hours or so .don't forget v energy drink lids
Wow thats amazing Drew, thats a great day out mate👌
And thanks heaps man, even know it was a quick hunt I still had alot of fun making this video. And always nice to find a few goldies to help cover my never ending fuel bill to😅
Patrol life mate 😆
The best life😁
So you're saying you found 18 gold coins in one day and most people that go their whole lives without finding one Bull#@%!
Frank Walker....you do realise these gold coins are just our everyday common coins we use here in Australia, the $1 & $2.
Not to hard to find 50 in a day if you work hard enough to find them.
You may be getting confused with a gold sovereign!
Fuck that beetle I guess lol.
how come when you lay your pin pointer down it stays quite mine goes off until I turn it off it drives me crazy
Sometimes you will find that when laying down your pinpointer, there will be other metal targets that its hitting on also, therefore sending it crazy mate. Also the 35 pro on the highest setting can have a mind of its own sometimes and go nuts for no reason.
You’re missing tonnes doing the figure of 8
So these gold coins are not really gold?
@Riley Bernardic these are what we refer to as our $1 & $2 gold coins here in Australia. Not real gold by any means but definitely add up nice and quick and well worth spending👍
Just ordered a equinox 800 I absolutely can not wait to be digging some relics up like you. I understand now about the coins thank you for responding.
Wow @Riley Bernardic awesome stuff mate! You will be out there digging up and enjoying history very soon and you will just love using the new Equinox to im sure!
I look forward to hearing how you go for future mate, best of luck and happy hunting out there🙂⛏️
If only they were real gold.
you need to watch you own video ,,your missing half the ground ,you swing one way then the next swing is way past it
Thanks Peter and am quite aware I miss ground in the video mate. This was just a quick coin shooting video, trying to show what tips and tricks I use for the goldies. If I am working and gridding a site properly, then I swing alot more thoroughly. Cheers👍
