Steve: Thank you so much for such great videos! I watched your entire series as we did the same walk just last week from Sarria to Santiago. We even stayed two nights at Torres de Hermida! (Which was lovely). I am now rewatching the videos and reminiscing about all the things we saw and did a long the way. Your videos were inspiring and now rewatching them, it really makes me want to go back and do it again! Thank you!
Thanks for this video. I'm from Malaysia and planning for my 1st Camino end of May this year from Sarria to Santiago. A great overview of what to expect and I do hop that the weather will be bit warmer by then.
Hi Geraldine. The first time I walked parts of the Camino was with a group organized by National Geographic. I walked with them in late May/Early June. The weather is fantastic then, and lots of red poppies in the countryside. Check out my videos of that trip. ua-cam.com/video/uKiHnxgMmPA/v-deo.html
thank you for this beautiful video. Very informative and inspirational. If I weren't so old and out of shape I would try. Seeing this was enough. Maybe I will visit someday and paint.
Hi Steve. I love your videos and love the background music. I’m useless at IT but please can you tell me how you do a video with background music? I’d love to do a video of my Frances Route last year. Keep up the entertainment buddy.
Thanks for your comment. For this video, I used a PC with PowerDirector video editing software. To add the music, I subscribe to a service called Epidemic Sound so that I can put royalty free and UA-cam accepted music to my videos. The music is then added to the video when I'm editing it. So, in answer to your question, it's fairly complicated. I just switched back to an Apple Computer and I'm using Apple Final Cut Pro Software. My recommendation, if you're interested in video editing, is to get an Apple computer and use their free and included iMovie software. Tutorials are available for free by searching for them on UA-cam. Buen Camino!
You are an inspiration. With your age 10 years younger, I hope I can do it. I am doing a solo Camino during the holy week in 2025. With your pace, I wonder how long it would take you each day to the destination. Would you have enough time to go around the area after your walk everyday?
Thank you! Most out walks took up the entire day. I would recommend stretching your walk to additional days if you would like to experience the Spanish Culture. I have videos on my channel of each day of our walk and I recommend that you watch each one. Here is a link to the first day and Buen Camino! ua-cam.com/video/VeSJXGxbKFs/v-deo.htmlsi=BvvPUjGIEtLU48ES
Can we with 3 young kids start to walk from Leimán (13km. to Portomarin and 104,3km from Santiago Compostela)? Because to walk with our 3 young children, we avoid not walking more than 20km. per day. With Leimán is still one of the last 100km. to Santiago Compostela. Thank you for your answer in advance 😊
We don’t have children, but I can tell you that the miles we walked each day would be very hard for adults who didn’t train. So, walking shorter distances would be recommended. Also, I think that your children might be bored on the Camino. You may want to do many over 10km training walks with them to make sure it’s something they’re up for. Check out this couple who walked the entire Camino Frances with their two children. This is a link to the first of many videos they posted. Buen Camino! ua-cam.com/video/LXkjkGjArH8/v-deo.html

I’m planning on July. In your opinion Could the hike be done in sandals? (I’m not fan of hiking boots)
I personally would never wear sandals, but some people do. I wore hiking boots for ankle support. Buen Camino!

I plan to start walking from Sarria this September. Where can I pick up a pilgrim passport in Sarria ? Appreciate if you can help.
Not sure if they can send it to you in time. My wife got one from Casa Ivar: www.santiagodecompostela.me/collections/best-selling-us
