    Thanks for the video! Brand new machine and first ride out yesterday and I was hearing that clunk. I can slide the springs by hand just a bit. I guess this is what I need to do. Thanks for the tool link.

    I watched this a while back. My machine is stock with 35s and I haven’t adjusted springs at all from factory setting. I have just shy of 15 3/4” clearance at lowest point underneath.

    Took my shocks off today for the first time. My springs were already 22 1/4”. I did have about 1/2” or so left to adjust the cross over rings so I bottomed them out and tried to keep the 3”s the rear I didn’t even measure the spring length just bottomed out the crossover rings and set the 4”s. Think I just waited too long to fix the sag?

    @rightcoastoffroad if my tender at the back are at 3.25 I wouldn’t want to loosen that to 4” would I? I ride with zero gear also and put full to your spec but never messed with tender so doing now

    So is this a adjustment I need to do with 3 hrs and already hearing thumping from the shocks already nothing added but a winch?

    I don’t think you have to keep the crossover rings at stock spacing. I actually moved mine up a little more to get a plusher ride and let it ride on the softer spring longer. It also doesn’t make the shock knock sound near as much. Just made sure the springs weren’t coil binding.

      Until fox or kawasaki release different specs on the spacing, I plan on keeping mine where its at. What is your spacing at currently?

      Right Coast Off-road I moved the front up half inch and the rear 1 inch from stock. Haven’t cranked the preload down yet any. Have 185 miles and not sagging much yet

    So I pulled my front shock off today to do this adjustment because I've been experiencing some sagging since the new cage however my shock measured out exactly 22 1/4 also the 3" on the cross offers already? Is there any other suggestions on links or is that just like a factory setting?

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  3 роки тому

      3 inch on the crossover is the factory setting. Yours was already set max from the factory? That's strange, but I guess it could happen. If you go through our channel, the last video we did is on the new Bandit springs. Check it out, they offer a ton of clearance.

      @@rightcoastoffroad there's threads for adjustment bith ways on the crossovers. 3" was my measurement from bottom of the bottom cross ring to thw top of spring. I took a pic but not sure I could send it to you

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  3 роки тому

      I only quoted what the manual says. If you check your owners manual, it gives you the measurement that fox and kawasaki recommend.

    Where did you come up with your magic 3" number for the crossover ring? You can run it all the way up so you get full use out of the upper spring, instead of the 1" or so it looks like you are using with your 3" number.

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  4 роки тому +1

      The owners manual........

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  4 роки тому

      And you don't want full use out of the upper spring, it will collapse it. Its only designed to travel so far. If you compress it to the point of coil bind, it's gonna be toast in no time .

    • @boblaws9851
      @boblaws9851 4 роки тому

      @@rightcoastoffroad I will agree to disagree with you about that. Either use it until it's "toast", (don't necessarily believe that would happen) or basically don't use it at all with your adjustment. I am a rocky trail, rock crawling type and make full use of the upper spring to get the most from the suspension. Either way I will be upgrading to a higher quality spring when I feel it's time for a spring change.

      To each his own. I like to follow the manual within reason. We do a lot of fast riding and jumping, etc. I've seen top dual rate springs get crushed before by improper crossover setting. If you are doing slow riding, you may be fine, but I dont want to take the chance.

    Just curious have you noticed your passenger side front tire having more negative camber then the front drivers side

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  4 роки тому

      I havent. Its usually because the suspension is uneven and the way the alignment is. Jack the front end off the ground and measure the angles with the suspension completely unloaded. With 18 inches of travel and the way the toe is set on these, it can be very deceiving.

    How much ground clearance did you gain after making these adjustments? I’m sitting at 12.5 inches front and rear, I would like to get back another 2 inches to at least bring me to stock height

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  3 роки тому

      Maybe an inch or so. If you wanna get it all back plus a little, check out our tender springs on our website!

    Move your crossover ring up 1/2"

    • @rightcoastoffroad
      @rightcoastoffroad  3 роки тому

      We run ours at factory recommended settings. If you run the crossover higher than you should, you put more stress on the smaller upper spring.

    Nice video. But how many miles you have on your machine? I have 1200 miles with roughly the same accessories and weight as yours. Have adjusted many times throughout the 1200 miles. Now have no more adjustment. Maxed out! 10’’ ground clearance. Not dealing with these junk springs anymore. Made appointment with Shock Therapy today.

    27.75 in the rear seems way off?
