The car will be under less load on an inertia dyno than it would be on the road, this could account for the lower boost reading.
Yupp, intercooler is the way mate, thanks for the mention, should add cooling and better flow with just a tad bit more lag

I have a mk7 gti and the intake manifold pressure also only reads up to a max of 1.55 bar. This is what I read on my gauge that is connected via OBD2. There is another option to view turbo boost pressure where the car reads a full 1.9 bar although I believe this may be requested boost rather than actual boost. The reading of an analogue boost gauge via a boost tap will always be the most accurate.
i have a 1.4L tsi but the EA111 version, i tuned it very well, the limit on this engine on stock internals is 350hp, if you want to be safe, run as low boost as you can so buy a K04 from a 2L ofc it's expensive but you'll run on low boost

I’m not sure if the MED17 has the same readings as the SIMOS18 of which a GTI has however. There is a PUT_SP and PUT. Meaning the SP is the setpoint the ecu wants to make, where as PUT is what the car is actually making. Just a thought of why there seems to be two different prsssure reading.
there are map sensors that can manage higher boost, just google vft tuning map sensor, but you ll have to change the sensor befor the throttle and in the manifold. the only thing that i am not sure about is if it is available for the 1.4 enginge..

Thinking about a hybrid caxa 1.4 tsi turbo and getting my 1.4 122 to around 180hp since the watercooler can handle 180hp in summer
With just a stage 1 map, you should be close to 180bhp on that engine, no?

@@leonsemple depends on budget and what u want but if u want sound and hp gains exhaust upgrades, sport cat 200cell, open intake (with heatshield if possible) and tune. If you want it cheap then 200cell downpipe and tune or if you want it really cheap just tune and run 98 ron fuel or 99 (not 95 ron becuase it will make less power)

How is the DQ200 able to take that much torque? Potential slip and long term reliability issues?
They use it in the polo GTI no problem, not exactly as reliable as the 381 or the 500 because of the dry system but it’s like anything got to write it off as a disposable part
I have no idea because I have a 6-speed manual gearbox in mine. Either MQ200 or MQ250, not sure tbh
@@AI-Records24 Guess that’s the downside. I was getting slip at around 400nm crank on my 1.8tsi. Had to tune down boost.

I think the current plan might actually be water to air intercooler
@@Em_Ligman so you wouldn’t use the water blocking off plate, just add an intercooler to the system? Be interesting to see where you go with it. I’ve got an EA211 in my Polo and have covered the basic stage 1 parts, next up would be cooling, hybrid turbo and a sports cat.
