you didn’t do any Avalon Group dungeons that’s the end game PvE or PVP. It’s a big dungeon that u can only complete with high tier gear and 15 plus players in the black zone. I think you might have enjoyed that.
I remember playing this game at launch. Unfortunately there wasn't much content and what there was was locked behind guilds. Glad to see that has changed and there's now stuff to do as a solo player.
From what my guild mates said to me before, loot on dungeons depends on the current overall demand for loots. Like if there are a lot of people who are doing dungeons, the "loot budget" of the game goes down, so you'll get bad loot sometimes even if it's a high tier dungeon. For the people who got more info, do correct me as I might be wrong Oh btw, well I guess it's understandable, I guess you can't really call someone a healer if they're using a fire staff lol. I think that was a tanky armor and just a heal skill. That's probably the reason that guy used that armor on that open world pvp
this is because dungeon loot is based on black market sales. so if the black market isnt being utilised as much youll get mostly runes and coin bags instead of items.
in caerleon there is a market called Black market, you can as a player sell items to the game through the black market. The game buys items to feed them into the drop table system, this also works as a economics stabiliser meaning that every item wont go below the price it can be sold for at the black market.

I played Albion a lot in the past. I have near max fame in most daggers / swords and leather / cloth armor. However, I still found myself getting obliterated by teams of 20 while trying to solo or duo a hellgate. I came back for the 1v1 dungeon for a bit, but eventually got bored and went back to attempting hellgates / roads resulting in me getting jumped.
It is a MMO so obviously group players will have advantage over solo. In this game you need to interact with players, make friends and play together if you want to experience end game content. Also is a very skill dependent game, i can say this from experience: not being a high skill player you won't get invited to a lot of content, so just get better and pratice more and you will get rewarded.
Fuck that game man...if you not in a guild. GGs with those pussies going in groups to gank a 4.1 lol. I guess it's ok...just feels like me players can't do shit in this game

It is a MMO so obviously group players will have advantage over solo. In this game you need to interact with players, make friends and play together if you want to experience end game content.
Bunch of casuals, once you know the game you learn how to dodge ganks. With good pathing, or always carrying an escape set. And even if you do up dying, that’s the game who cares. The money you lost shouldn’t be something you’re concerned about.
@@XfeemoraisX figured someone would say this "it's an mmo, ofc there's groups". It's not that there are groups of people running around, it's the tedium of it, dealing with people who farm players just "because", the fact that fame isn't split between people in the group so there's no drawback to zerging. It's a typical toxic part of a community that just says "get good" or points out something that doesn't really have to do with the core of the issue. Even if you play with a small group of friends, there are groups of 20+ people who show up when you win a fair fight, or forces you to play a certain way, that takes away the player agency in a game that prides itself on freedom of choice and choosing your own unique path. It's ironic in the most depressing manner.

The actual gameplay is obviously very different from EVE. But i think you'll find a lot of the systems are basicly copy-pasted from EVE. I myself i enjoy both games because of the qualities they share :)
@@frederiksolskin Yeah, based on this video it feels like the devs took the best elements from EVE and combined them with more traditional MMO systems. :D
I hopped on this game with a bunch of my eve buds. It's basically EVE online with moba combat and everything is more accessible. These games have been borrowing ideas from eachother for a while now. Albion used EVE's wormhole mechanics for roads, EVE used Albion's hellgate mechanics for Abyssals.
I love this game but when i get to tier 5 gear I feel lost. I feel like I have no idea what im doing. Plus with the crafting it feels like anything i pick up in dungeons seem pointless. I feel I could craft anything I pick up.
Some crafting mistakes in Albion. In Albion, if you want to equip a specific gear, buying it directly from market is a lot cheaper and faster than crafting it yourself. Also, new players often do gathering, refining, and crafting altogether. There's no need to do that at all, this isn't Minecraft.
When playing Albion its important to set an end game goal for yourself because the game is too vast in terms of things you can do. If you can determine what you wanna do then the game will seem progressive after tier 5. My end game goal is to max and master everything in the game. Crafting is just hard. Getting all the resources for crafting is a massive grind compared to just buying. Not to mention there are crafting levels as well so you cant just craft a tier 6 item without the level.
You need to join faction discords (or guild), join battles under the command of a shotcaller (similar to how you experienced Hellgates, just much larger scale!) and wear proper ZvZ build gear to get the proper faction war experience. Every content in this game has their own types of builds (meta) hence why all weapons are viable and you can really just play anything do anything you want in this game. Its great fun! However at the end of the day its an MMO so you should try to find people to play with to get the most out of Albion Online. Glad you gave it a shot, its not an overly forgiving game that's for sure but its a great game imo.
One thing about the loots in dungeons being worst in comparison to hunter CDs, is that all loot in albion is made by players, who sells to the black market, and thats the loot we get in chests and drops. Sometimes the devs shift the better loot to some specific content, to incentivize people playing that more, and so the other content drops do fell lackluster, but thats momentaraly, so thats probably why the drops for the dgs u did were bad.
@@JanJanNik he has alredy made couple of vids on Albion Online without sponsor and he said that they let him speak freely he said what's good and what not.

Not even complaining about the content, MMORPG's nowadays are really taking a hit. Still looking for that one that will provide the nostalgia and not being dragged as if it was a pressure on you.
The game is umbelivable cool, until some point you begin to notice some "not so little" things. Some afk people near zone gates, some afk people on markets and black market, some PKs that run more than he should, and know where you are somehow, that also target you way more if you have valuable loot in your bag, the prices on cities player shop, some weird activities betwen majos guilds black zone and on cristal league, etc, etc, etc. But the game have its charm, and even with all that crap it can still be fun, if the will to play survive its death after realising all that above.
Why don't game devs change this game's name Discord Online? Because you can't do shit playing as a solo player. You have to join a discord channel to join events and even play the game as a whole. Only things to do as a solo player are coerupted dungeons and solo dungeons which are not worthy anymore after loot nerfs.
The game having no storyline quests is a big turn off for me also the combat seems really random and not engaging enough, and AO still is one of the best MMOs currently on the market. Whilst I'm not gonna play, I'm glad the devs actually care about the game and it's player base and keep adding good content to maintain the game alive.
Watching it, it might seem that way but it's actually very engaging. Gearing properly, cool down management and countering your opponent is key. Example, most people will have the inspect player on a keybind to know how to engage and what to look out for.
@@Nicholas7137 I just need someone pointing me on where to go, at least at the beginning. Not being a great MMO player myself, the game having at least in the first half of the leveling, a path for me to follow and a tutorial (not really a tutorial part just the questing guiding through the main mechanics) would help me not waste my first few dozen hours playing. But I'm sure I'll try AO in 2022 and see for myself how good it is.
@@James_Byron you make the quests your self. The combat feels like a moba. The game pretty much, has a Diablo 2 like feel to it, with heavily focused full loot pvp.
i remember that the reason why i didnt really stick with it was... - How much everythign blends together, and you cant tell things appart easily. It's "that" art style, you know? Nothing has borders, outlines, shading, etc... - How it uses a top-down camera, but you cant have staple keybinds that ARPGs have, like force-move, force-attack. so i often ended up attacking instead of moving, or moving instead of attacking, or switching targets when i didnt want to. - How pressing an ability a second time cancels the cast. fucks things up in the heat of battle.

It's easy to say that dying isn't punishing when you're sitting on 100mil bank. Try playing the game as an actually new player without the starter bank. 100mil is a very large amount of money and new player won't be hitting those amounts of silver in months unless they find some good group to do some content that requires very high skill of players and good ping. On top of that, you need to be grinding for fame to levelup your proficiency with gear and weapons that you're using so that you can raise your average gear score to be able to participate in most of group content without being a burden to your group. It's a game that requires a lot of time investment and to be proficient with your time, you need to be a part of a big alliance to reduce the risk of constantly being ganked in black zones where most of the good fame and loot is and big alliances expect you to participate in zvz frequently.

I never seen this many butt hurt people that goes beyond their way to justify the dislike about this particular mmo video. If hes being paid to make a review so be it. It doesn't affect your bank account. But honestly tho, its a pvp centered sandbox mmorpg, if its not your cup of tea then no need to hate a person that's making video about it. Alot of dissatisfaction in this game came from a bunch solo player try to justify that their importance of SOloing in a MASSIVELY MULTI PLAYER ONLINE RPG. The devs has been listening to the player request by improving their solo/small group activities. But why should you push the game thats already set to be pvp oriented to cater to your solo/anti social style of playing.?
You don't need to bring gear that expensive into a corrupted dungeon. Your gear IP gets soft capped. The small advantage you get is not worth the risk.
I wish they add more PVE content and make it more PVE friendly. this is more of a personal opinion since I enjoy PVE more. but I'm happy for my fellow PVP players since a good PVP-focused MMO is hard to find.
? How could they add any more pve then there already is. They gutted pvp and completely wiped open world solo pvp from the game? There’s not a single og pvper from 3+ years ago that still plays this game because of how casual the game became after f2p launch on steam.
@@ark2819 No it wasnt? Do you know of the existence of corrupt dungeons? Arena? Does are the pvp the game was created for. The open world pvp is there so players dont get too rich so they dont have to nerf pve even more
There's never been a better time to get into Albion Online than right now. The buff to the black zones / open world makes it so you can learn the game and make enough money to keep trying until you become a competent player.
yeah no. this game is slowly dying and has been losing players all year. the latest update is good if you're already heavily invested in the game and can afford to lose gear hundreds of times. there are much better and rewarding mmo's out there to play as a new player. the only people i'd recommend this game to are people who enjoy griefing as a gameplay mechanic.
It's a good game really enjoyed it just farming mats and selling them stopped playing around the red/black zone tiered mats as just became hard work to play solo anymore
A few mega guilds completely control the higher end Black zones making it nearly impossible for someone to do any sort of resource gathering without being in their guild. It creates an almost impregnable hierarchy in the game's economy and power. If you don't care about that, this game has its fun moments. Just know despite it being an open world, sandbox where everyone is supposed to have equal opportunity to succeed--like in life, this is not the case.
To be fair, this is going to happen in any game with a full loot and guild system. Factions always form and black markets always form. You will never be able to get rid of this as long as freedom allows guilds to exist.
Yeah the black zones are unforgiving especially for the the low tier players who just want to max out their gathering levels. Its just a constant heart race and sweat when you get in there with your gathering gear and crappy cheap mount. Those negative reps are always looking for easy capital.
Honest and fair review of the game. You finally were able to touch the unique points of the game which make it special & fun for me. In the reviews before I always felt you missed the point of the game for me. Roads of Avalon: Its actually for solo and small groups as the portal limits the amount of players that can go through at a time. Also chests/sites on the map are color coded like the rest of the game ( Green = Soloable, Blue= 4-6, Yellow = 10-20 ppl)
bro i started playing this game like 2 months ago. Back then i play the game but i delete the game right after the tutorial. But i play again, and damnnnn. I have 550 hours now in just 2 1/2 months lmao. This game probably the best MMO sandbox game.
surprised you didn't talk about the world itself. It's still just square random fields without any named areas. You don't travel to some mysterious dungeon, it's literally an icon that spawns on the ground that you can click on.
If you would rather albion being 100gb on your pc then thats on you. Honestly, the world design isnt what makes most mmo good. Just look at warcraft, in my opinion it is not good looking but people consider the best mmo of all the time
This game gets a lot of new players but wont even last a week playing because of the pvp focused endgame. You cant even get to certain important areas without going through pvp zones. No amount of advertising can fix that lmao
There is nothing to get fixed about that. Thats the main idea behind the game. It will never be as popular as your average mmo simply because you have to actually risk stuff to progress. This is why the economy system is second to none, low tier items will never become obsolete. This is perhaps the best part about albion and needs no fixing.
The main issue with this game right now is it's almost impossible to find group content "within" the game. Because of it's huge mobile pop, doing solo open world stuff is fine and feels vibrant, but wanting to do group content becomes very hard. It's almost impossible to chat and find people to do content with, you really need an external discord group for any amount of group play
Albion is the only MMO I feel like recommending nowadays, even though it's not my cup of tea. Once in a while I come back to it because I enjoy playing with the market, but as a solo player the grind doesn't feel rewarding enough for the time required, at least for me. Even so, I'd say it's a solid game for those who enjoy full loot and MOBA-like combat, it's not p2w and the maps are pretty well done. While it has many different activities, they're all very simplistic, which may be a good or bad thing depending on your personal tastes.
Loved it mate, definitely fair feedback for AO :) Was fun playing with you, hopefully we can connect again later!

you didn’t do any Avalon Group dungeons that’s the end game PvE or PVP. It’s a big dungeon that u can only complete with high tier gear and 15 plus players in the black zone. I think you might have enjoyed that.
ZvZ is the real endgame, 100v100 people and even more waiting to join the zone is the real chaos and fun
For the people who got more info, do correct me as I might be wrong
Oh btw, well I guess it's understandable, I guess you can't really call someone a healer if they're using a fire staff lol. I think that was a tanky armor and just a heal skill. That's probably the reason that guy used that armor on that open world pvp
this is because dungeon loot is based on black market sales. so if the black market isnt being utilised as much youll get mostly runes and coin bags instead of items.
@@ReveVersant oh yeah, that's the thing I hear somewhere. man, those are the worst. you're almost running on a loss because of repairs
in caerleon there is a market called Black market, you can as a player sell items to the game through the black market. The game buys items to feed them into the drop table system, this also works as a economics stabiliser meaning that every item wont go below the price it can be sold for at the black market.

Peon! You've been looking so good these days. Long time watcher and just wanted to say I've been loving the videos and happy new year!
This made me want to get back into Albion, great game really.
Fuck that game man...if you not in a guild. GGs with those pussies going in groups to gank a 4.1 lol. I guess it's ok...just feels like me players can't do shit in this game
17:55 That situation is what playing Albion in higher levels is really like, don't have a group or a huge zerg of people? Have fun with gear replacement simulator.
This is the only reason I can’t enjoy this game. It’d be one of if not my favorite MMOs of all time if it wasn’t for stuff like this
It is a MMO so obviously group players will have advantage over solo.

This game does actually look quite appealing. Getting some nice EVE Online vibes.
Man good videos. Really sold me on the game. Gonna download and try it out.
I love this game but when i get to tier 5 gear I feel lost. I feel like I have no idea what im doing. Plus with the crafting it feels like anything i pick up in dungeons seem pointless. I feel I could craft anything I pick up.
Do the runescape method either craft to sell or craft multiple sets so you can go do harder pvp content
@@lalo6427 they do that bcz they don't want to pvp
I got an ad for Albion Online: Lands Awakened for your "Is It Worth Playing Albion Online," video. Nice.
Oh and come to Lymhurst mate! You met our shotcaller already it seems, shoutout to the man Lewpac :)
factions now have discord? back when I played thetford used to be the only faction that had a discord people used
One thing about the loots in dungeons being worst in comparison to hunter CDs, is that all loot in albion is made by players, who sells to the black market, and thats the loot we get in chests and drops. Sometimes the devs shift the better loot to some specific content, to incentivize people playing that more, and so the other content drops do fell lackluster, but thats momentaraly, so thats probably why the drops for the dgs u did were bad.

It sounds like a sandbox seeping with corruption. 😯

I understand and respect your point of view. I actually love that it’s not quest driven myself. :)

So just like in life not everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed
I disagree. Gathering is easy to do solo without a guild. You just need to be willing to head to the center of the outlands.
Those negative reps are always looking for easy capital.
albion managers also double pay when you buy albion money from other websites.

Roads of Avalon: Its actually for solo and small groups as the portal limits the amount of players that can go through at a time. Also chests/sites on the map are color coded like the rest of the game ( Green = Soloable, Blue= 4-6, Yellow = 10-20 ppl)

WTF the PvP looks really fun.

It's almost impossible to chat and find people to do content with, you really need an external discord group for any amount of group play
also you don't own the money you buy from them.
