  • Amish Country Casserole| Griddle Edition!
    Recipe-----
    Ingredients:
    1.5 pounds lean ground beef
    1 large onion finally chopped
    16oz rotini pasta
    2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
    2 cans condensed tomato soup
    1 cup milk
    Spice Mixture- 2 tsp Worchestshire sauce, 2 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp parsley
    Mexican blend cheese to melt on top/garnish
    Directions:
    Lightly oil your griddle and place a small pot in the back corner to start heating up.
    Put down your onion and ground beef to start browning to your liking. Toss the onion in some butter.
    While the onion and beef browns, add a tablespoon of butter in the pot and all the cans of soup and spice mixture and all the milk. Mix well.
    Once both sides of beef are seared a little, chop it up and cook it through.
    Once the beef is cooked, mix the onions in well and start working in the sauce mixture from the pot.
    Put down some oil and butter and add/toss the noodles to start heating up.
    Mix the noodles together well with the beef, onions, sauce. Sauce it up to your liking.
    Plate it up, melt cheese on top, garnish with paprika and parsley and enjoy!
    I love making stuff like casseroles and soups on the griddle. It's my favorite way to do them in fact. Gives me plenty of room to toss and sauce and less cleanup. It may not be for everyone but it's for me 😊

    That looked very delicious! Most people don't know you can cook almost anything on a griddle top and this was a great idea to show how it's done.

    Love your two spatula griddle technique! (Lower sodium condensed soups can be of help for reduced salt diets) 👍
    Try a can of diced tomatoes instead of one can of soup to add more tomato flavor🍝

      Dual wielding the spatulas is really one of my favorite things about griddling 😂 Both are great suggestions! I think the diced tomatoes and fresh mushrooms would really elevate the flavor of this dish to the next level. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment! I really appreciate it

      Diced tomatoes and fresh mushrooms would step-up the flavor for sure. I enjoyed watching your technique.

      @@joanchandler9009 griddle cooking is definitely my favorite way of cooking haha very therapeutic for me. I'm definitely gonna redo this one day with the diced tomatoes and mushrooms and probably even onions because I do think it would kick it up to another level! I would also try name brand soups to see if that picks up the flavor anymore too. Thanks a bunch for checking out the channel and watching and commenting!

    I learned to cook on a flat top grill at 16. My first job was cooking breakfast & burgers at a hole-in-the-wall cafe. It does seem wasteful though to heat up the grill just to cook that little bit of food. 🍳🥓 Sacramento, California USA 🇺🇸

    Hello from Missouri. Just subscribed to your group. Your video just popped up on my YOU TUBE. Loved this video. Going to have to check your other videos out too. I use to work at a fast-food restaurant. We used a grill and deep fryer only. I know that grill was fun to work on.

      Glad to have you here and I appreciate the support! I love using a griddle even if it's cooking something that is not "traditionally" done on a griddle like this meal was haha I personally find it more fun and it's always fun to try something different in the kitchen and see how it goes. Worst case, I just go back to the normal way of cooking I suppose 😅 thanks again for taking the time to watch and leaving a comment!

    New sub here! I found you due to the recommended for you list, and your way of cooking is just what I've been looking for! In the winter, we heat our home w/ a wood stove, and that's my 'go-to' way of cooking all winter. I use cast iron but have always wanted a full griddle like you use. Did you have this stove top griddle custom made? I'm going to check out your other vids, as I love the way you cook!

    • @garretthegriddler
      @garretthegriddler  7 місяців тому +2

      Thanks I really appreciate it! The griddle I use is a Steelmade USA griddle. The one I have isn't custom made it's just their standard one for glass top stoves. The glass top stove version is the same as the regular it just includes 4 metal risers to create proper airflow and not too much heat on the glass top. They can, however, make custom ones to fit pretty much any stove top design. I've been using it for about 2 years now and love it haha One drawback is it has a small drip tray, but I expected that because of how it had to be designed to work around the burners. The initial temperature fall off when adding food is also higher than my outdoor griddle but I've learned to work around both of those and prefer using it to my outside griddle. Climate controlled griddling is hard to beat 😂 thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    I cannot stand when directions are confusing and/or ingredients are left out. 😮 It doesn't bother me that although the Worcestershire Sauce wasn't visible with the rest of the ingredients, but it definitely irks me to no end to see a measuring cup with what I can only assume is whole milk when none is mentioned in the ingredients and directions. Once errors are pointed out, I don't understand why corrections are not made to the video. And aside from the omitted ingredients, the directions are quite confusing. Making this recipe irrelevant.
    😠 😡

    • @garretthegriddler
      @garretthegriddler  7 місяців тому

      Sorry to irk and confuse! The milk was indeed whole milk this time but I didn't mention that specifically in the ingredients section of the video because I felt pretty much any type of milk (skim, 1%, 2%), or really even water as a last resort, would achieve a similar result to thin it out a little. I didn't want people to feel like it had to be whole milk or no milk at all if that makes sense. To my knowledge, I believe you are the first person to mention the milk being omitted from the ingredients and recipe in the description of the video. For what it's worth, I did go back and correct it once you made me aware 🤷 As for it not making sense how I wrote the recipe, unfortunately, grammar and writing isn't my strong point so that kinda is what it is at this point haha Anyways, Id like to say thanks for you taking some time to check out the channel and leaving some feedback!
