Much less work removing the battery from underneath than other models which have it under the gas tank. Mine was in storage for quite some time. Battery was dead so I changed it out. Luckily Mine wasn't locked out or anything. Other than taking a few cranks due to the old fuel that I couldn't pump out... she fired right up. Great Video!!! The only other video I've seen didn't even mention the 2 Grounds on the side of the bike. I could only imagine how many people damaged the electrical system.
@qckhnda2000 From all my many Japanese sport bikes and one dual sport, the batteries are under the seat. Take the key and pop up the seat and then just m disconnect. This ducati definitely expanded my horizons and tested my patience. I hear ya on the short our the electrical system. Don't want that though I did a dumb move with my lithium/lead acid charger 5 months ago. I occasionally top of another lead acid battery so manually switch the charger to and from lead acid to/from lithium. I forgot to switch back. Not good. As far as I know I didn't harm my $200 Antigravity lipo battery.
Still got my bike. It's now too hot to ride so it will just sit in the garage most of july and august. At least until the evenings cool back down. Ducati's and sitting at lights idling is a scorcher.
It came on my bike as the guy who bought it new put on some things. He sold the Monster 821 back/traded for a New Street Fighter the next year. Bike had under 1,100 miles on it and had its first service done. To my benefit completely. I'm thinking it's this: newragecycles.com/collections/monster-821 newragecycles.com/products/ducati-monster-1200-r-fender-eliminator-kit
My lithium battery is going strong. Kicks my bike to life every time with little hesitation. A good investment for these motorcycles because they are tough on their batteries. Lithium batteries last longer with hot conditions as Ducatis cook batteries with their hot running engines. Just more powerful and nearly 3/4 lighter than lead acid.
I have absolutely zero fear of a fire with this bike from high exhaust/motor temp. In the summer, in a hot climate the Ducatis will typically see 220-227 degress until the coolant fan turns on but that's just how ducati sets their bikes up to opporate. In 40-65 degrees their bikes hover in 195-203 degrees. I found out myself that when these bikes are ridden often in 97 to 195 degree climates the lead acid battery will wear out faster due to the added motor/high exhaust temp. Also, my opinion the motor oil should be changed more often.
I misspoke at that moment. I'm not well verses or educated in electrical current. It is a 12v/800mA Battery Charger and Maintainer but the term watt got thrown in there. Cut me some slack Mr. Nonsense.
Many thanks for the video’s keep them coming. I don’t miss any of the Ducati clips. Safe riding

Nice video !!!
Hi any concerns with "ducati" heat and potential "fire" ?

800W, its non sense. Its 800mA charger co 9.6W
