    Good job. I have two of those 480 AG batteries: one in the M1200R such as yours and one in a MTS 1260PP.
    You have more patience than I have. By comparison, the Multi's battery swap is a cake walk.
    Here's a tip for all you Monster owners with a lithium who lives up north with snow:
    You don't and should not keep it on a tender in freezing temps. However, you can just disconnect the master plug under the black battery cover which will prevent any parasitic draw.

      @DarR1299 I am happy you liked it. I love it here except when the hell fire of summer comes around. Other than that, it is pretty much perfect weather here. Right now, today it is blue sky and 72 degrees. It's hard to ask for much better than that.

      I am glad it helped. I was just as baffled too, so that is exactly why I created the video in hopes it helps others out. It is kind of a weird place to put a battery, but It is actually nice and safe tucked away down there. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching

    Just for everybody watching, it also works identically on the 821. So tricky to get the positive terminal screw thingy back on there with such little room to work with but ended up working great.

      Just replaced mine. Wonder why Ducati didn’t just provide a longer wire for the positive terminal like they did for the negative. And why did they put the ground behind two pieces of plastic cover. Italian…

      @@azxp Done my lithium battery install today. How do you maintain it ? Thx

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому +1

      @@jasonharley8230 There really isn't any maintenance other than to charge it. Make sure you use a battery charger like the one in the video to charge it. You don't have to keep it charged all of the time in fact it probably isn't good too, but if you don't ride it for a month, I would charge it once a month. If you ride it everyday or every other day you will be fine, but if it sits, my recommendation is to charge it once a month using a lithium battery charger. Other than that, the terminals you want to keep clean. I store mine in a garage, so they haven't gotten dirty in the last two years plus they are covered pretty good anyway. BTW, Since the video two years ago, I have not had to touch the battery other than to charge it. It has been great. it is good to hear your got yours done, and I am happy I could help.

      @Jason Harley I usually put it on in the evening and let it charge all night. The lithium charges are smart and they won't overcharge.

    Hi! I have a monster 1200s 2017 and have been changing the battery every 2years for yhe same stock batteries that just do not last. Did your stock battery not work well after 2yrs? how long has your anti-grav battery been running for?

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому

      I will be totally honest with you. I bought my 2016 (in the video) used in 2020. I believe it had the stock battery, but I can't be sure. It died within months of me owning it. I replaced it two years ago with the antigravity battery, and it is still going strong. I do run my bike at least once a month if I don't ride, or at the very least, I keep it topped off with the charger at least once a month if I don't start it or ride it. So honestly, I can't truthfully answer that question yet, but I do have the same battery in my R1 and it has lasted 4 years so far, but the last year it is disconnected because of a bad starter, so despite that it has lasted longer than two years, but I do take care of them.

  • @FunWithAJ

    Thinking of getting the same battery for my 2011 Monster. Do you still recommend it? How long do they last? Any issues? Also they now have sae remotes for the batteries to access that restart feature via button

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому

      So the battery is still holding up. The only thing you really need to be arare of is that it is a Lithium battery so you will need a lithium charger. I am not aware of a temote, but if you can get one, that would be awesome because you can't access the battery once installed. I have never needed to yet. I do like the battery still so far. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    no starting issues with that battery?

    • @azxp
      @azxp  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Hugo, so far it has been nothing but a great battery. It is a LiPO, so you do need a special charger. I put one in the description. Actually that is the one I have, but you don't need that particular one just one that charges the Lithium battery. I have not had any starting issues with it, but I do keep it charged up and ride the bike a lot. As with any battery you don't want to store it not running without charging it here and there. It is a bit expensive, but it has been a stellar battery for me so far. I am also running one in my Yamaha R1.

    Hello, it's been some time since you posted this vid but figured i'd try my question anyways :) - i have the same bike & just installed the 360 cca version, and it fired up nicely :) was wondering if you could explain exactly how you connect your charger (i got the same one, too). i added the M6 comfort connect to the terminals but there's no apparent way to run it outside the battery case without modifying the cover/case, which i wish to avoid. do you keep this inside the cover & remove it each time you charge the battery (which is a hassle to me also)? or have you found a way to connect with the connection the old stock battery used, under the seat?

    • @azxp
      @azxp  2 роки тому +1

      Well first off congrats on an awesome bike. Ok so I had to go look because it has been a while since I have looked at it. My pig tail is pinched between the cover and the box in the front near the rear brake master. It has been that way forever with no issues. Like you I didn't want to drill any holes. I figured that if the pigtail breaks, I will just replace it, but it has been going strong for over 4 years so I think it is good. My battery is still holding up and everything is good. I am just trying to come up with some time to replace all of the blinkers. I have all of the parts, just not the time. Hopefully, soon I will get another video on the turn signal replacement. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching. Also don't ever worry about asking questions no matter how old the video is. Even if people don't answer it is worth a shot. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Hey, nice video. Got an M12R myself and the manual says to remove the ground wires connected to the engine on the front left prior to the actual battery removal. Would you say that’s unnecessary? (I cursed a LOT today when removing and refitting the covers) thx!

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому

      I would definitely say that is unnecessary because it comes down with the battery, then is right in the open. The positive you definitely have to disconnect first, but the negative will come out with the battery. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.

    • @rata911
      @rata911 Рік тому

      @@azxp That’s right, once unplugged and on its way down I’d agree. I’m always on the scarier side when dealing with electrics, in this case touching the frame or any ground by accident causing a short while unscrewing the positive. Hm.

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому

      @rata911 You make a good point, but like you said, be afraid of it and be very careful, and there is plenty of room to get the positive out without hitting a ground. Of course the manual will tell you to pull the ground first they don't want to be sued if you aren't careful. If you don't feel safe doing it that way, then you can always pull the ground first. Or if you dont have the right tools ie wobbly sockets. I hope that helps.

    • @rata911
      @rata911 Рік тому +1

      @@azxp Who you calling a wobbly socket? :P Nah honestly, that helps actually. Next time I'll dare and give it a try - with the wrench wrapped in isolating/fabric tape then.

    • @azxp
      @azxp  Рік тому

      @rata911 I suppose if you are replacing the battery, you could leave the light on the night before and completely drain the battery, bit you wouldn't want to do yhat to a battery you are not replacing for sure.

    Great vid thanks Question I’ve seen other videos Where they also disconnect a ground cable before the battery is disconnected just curious on your install you did not do it thanks in advance if you could let me know I have the same exact bike is yours and battery just died

    • @azxp
      @azxp  3 роки тому +2

      I did mine exactly like the video. (I did not pre-disconnect any grounds.) You can't get to the ground cable from the top. You definitely need to be careful disconnecting and reconnecting the positive. I actually didn't have any issues. If you aren't using the Antigravity battery like mine, and you have issues getting it back up in the hole, try changing the orientation of the negative terminal like I did in the video. The only issues I had were trying to do the work while holding the camera lol. Let me know if you run into any issues, or have any more questions. Thanks for watching.
