Great review! If they make a Kit Bag 3.0, would love to see a padded laptop sleeve and double zippers on the top to create a wide opening for easier access to interior.
I just got this bag in the green version, and took it on a four day trip, and it’s fantastic! Looks fantastic, durability is quality as always for goruck, and it’s comfortable to carry for a duffel. Prolly won’t replace my GR2 34L, but this is great!!
I wanted that specific kit bag you have in olive. When the black ones went on sale to $135, I did not realize it had a leather bottom, and leather handles. For $135 that’s insane. I still want the olive one as well, and it apparently now comes with a leather bottom and handles and patch. This inside label is also leather, with orange pockets. I’m newer to Goruck and am amazed at the price on these specific waxed kit bags. I did not expect for them to have leather. The only thing they do lack is the super cool waxed patch.
Actually, this was meant for the video you did with the waxed kit bag you did. Love all your videos. They have helped me tremendously with Goruck and Evergoods.
@@JBOutside1 nice surprise, I really like the orange interior. I would get all my bags with full orange interior if I could. The handles are super nice as well.
I prefer simpler duffels, and try to go USA made if it's close in price. The dsptch weekender is a similar box shape. But those tom bihn duffels are prob the best value USA made ones I've found.
I’m trying to find that kit bag. Mmm doesn’t seem to be on the GR site. I have a GR3 35L. Which i enjoy. The kit bag seem very useful. Not sure how comfortable it be lugging around
@JBOutside1 ok good to know. Was gonna buy a kit bag but didnt wanna buy one with out the shoe compartment and then one with the shoe compartment drops right after lol. Thank you sir. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾 love the channel. I always check yoir reviews before buying something.
I have been thinking about getting a duffel to store my backpacks in (I know…bag in bag) if I needed to shift them internationally. Would the ctb26 fit along with other packs that laid flat in both the kit bag and/or the evergoods transit duffel? I have the Phoenix2 version which is a bit less flexible. Thanks!
Love your channel man! I just got a new job that will require frequent travel and am working my through the goruck lineup (and LBT) to great expense to find the perfect combo. I think I’ve settled in a regular old GR1 26L and Kit Bag. I tried the one bag thing and it’s just not feasible for me because I will always need a backpack at my destination. Quick Question. Do you own one of the old goruck gym bags? Those look pretty nice.
@@JBOutside1 thanks! I was so curious because you experienced so many bags but it’s nice to see your choices in all this crazy amount of bags. Thanks JB!
Just bought the armour grey kit bag. Want to get a backpack. Currently I use a mystery ranch catalyst 26 that just released. I’m torn between the gr1 21l and the gr2 26l what do you use/ suggest?
Since they don't list the original Kit Bag anymore I think new batches would be this design, including Heritage. But of course I have no actual idea...but that's what I would do!
Fair question. As an accessory for travel I personally like the Kit Bag. Been using it all week along with another GORUCK bag. Single bag mode though you’d want the Evergoods for the wider array of pockets and the padded laptop pocket.
JB - Looking for a kit/duffle in the 32L neighborhood with a real laptop compartment. Currently using the AER Weekend Duffle but it’s a tad large for general EDC. The Evergoods bag is too big. This GR Kit bag would be absolutely perfect if it had a laptop sleeve on the other side. I’ve searched high and low. Any recommendations? Thx
Nice review as always. Its just a shame they ruined the entire look of the bag by including the butt ugly spear logo on the outside (which looks 10x worse on the black version).

The top opening is my issue too

That dark oak vintage kit bag is soooooo nice 👍🏽 it’s like a rustic leather look. Just like the Aussie made items from RM Williams 🤌🏼
I love it!

They just did a change on the 2.0, the standard just shipped to me with orange pockets and tube foam in the handles
interesting...

Good call
Could be wrong but I think only the "heritage" kit bags are made in the U.S. where as the rest are probably Vietnam.
Do you have the robic one with the shoe compartment? would love to see some content on that one, none on YT yet I don't think.
I did a video of the gym bag version.
@@JBOutside1 nice I’ll check that out thanks. Thoughts on which material is best for travel?
Congratulations on 10,000 subscribers! A little early, but wanted to be the first.
So close! And thanks!!

Probably out of stock at the moment
Do you know if they'll be making the kit bags with the shoe compartment on the bottom again? In cordura? Or was that just a small run? 😢
No idea but my gut tells me no.

How did you get the ranger green color? On their webpage there is only black. Thanks
I have ways 😎. Ranger Green coming soon to the site
Its also available in Store now

I wouldn’t think the Kit Bag would be any good for that. The opening is maybe too small

I don't. I never really liked the round shape of those.
Hello, your channel are so great!
I’m wondering, if you pick for yourself one edc bag and one travel bag what will be your 2 choices? Just curious 🍻
Boy that’s tough! EDC: GR1, Travel: CTB26 (Phoenix 2). But this changes. Really love the M22 currently too.

Vastly different bags. I’d start with what size do you need first
Think they might do a heritage 2.0?

Do you prefer the Evergoods or the Kit Bag 2.0?
Also curious of your thoughts on this Q

Are they about the same capacity?
@@revtvguam yes. Kit bag is 32L and Evergoods is 35L

DEX from Black Ember?
@@JBOutside1 Close but am looking for just a native duffle, not a convertible with all the extra backpack straps etc.
@@t3fLoN77then I’m not much help. I use the kit bag 2.0 mostly if I’m taking the laptop. But mostly the laptop lives in my backpack
Pakt has a 25L duffle, simple with a laptop compartment. I love mine and it has organization.
@@brandonmcclain9475 thanks Brandon!
Does it come with the patch?
Yes!! 😎
What is the weight of this bag?
Unfortunately I’m out of town all week so I can’t get it to a scale. Sorry
Thank you for the review! I'm considering selling my Kit Bag 1.0 for this.
Glad it was helpful! This IS a big upgrade.
Awesome !!
Thanks!!
@@JBOutside1I’m so looking forward to know what is Goruck preparing for us !!!
The Evergoods bag is the definition of over-engineered.
I don’t think so personally. Well built and purposeful is how I’d put it. Too much for some though
@@JBOutside1And that dwr finish on evergoods zips is clutch. AG zips are cool but the rubber always ends up coming off.
@@stevengarcia8428 agree!
the shoulder straps buckles are plastic in the Evergoods.. super letdown.. this comparison is a pity for the Evergoods.
Just showing you the details…but I agree that’s a weak point

It is more obvious on black for sure
How RG…. Lol
