    The Old Bay Sazerac:
    - (optional) give an absinthe rinse to a chilled rocks glass
    - Add 2 dashes of angostura and 3 dashes of Peychaud's bitters to a mixing glass
    - Add 1.25oz each of Sagamore Rye and Calvados to the mixing glass
    - Add 3/8oz Old Bay-infused demerara syrup (2:1 ratio)
    - Stir over ice
    - Strain into the chilled rocks glass over a large rock
    - Garnish with lemon twist
    Old Bay Demerara syrup:
    - I'm still playing around with this part of the recipe so forgive me if I change it in the future, but it works well for now...
    - Add 2 cups of Demerara sugar to 1 cup of water over low heat on the stove and mix to dissolve the sugar
    - Bring to a simmer and add 3 tdp of Old Bay seasoning, mix again
    - Let simmer for five minutes and then bring off the heat
    - Fine strain out any excess Old Bay particulates, let cool, and bottle it

      @@yayarea5109 Should be even more frustrating when you watch the Jets game the following week and realized they actually had a better gameplan against that defense then the 7-3 Ravens did. And that your old washed up QB Flacco had a much better game against that look. Not saying that to knock Jackson as he's great and that every QB in the league would have struggled with that protection and play calling. So more so just knocking your OC and line. As Jackson was sacked 4x compared to Flacco only 2x. And Flacco threw for like 290yds and had 2TD and 0INT. Jets OC was somehow at least smart enough to realize the middle of the field is wide open and that all it would take for a huge play is to throw a slant pass in that coverage and for the DB to miss the tackle or be behind the WR and you have a good shot at getting a 50+yd TD. We ran this a lot in high school against teams that threw the ball. High school QBs don't have the composure to sit and take the hits, so it forced a lot of jump balls that our freakishly tall corners would snatch up no problem

    • @tylerbrantner4026
      @tylerbrantner4026 2 роки тому +52

      I bet that really causes problems for their running too, it’s hard for high school linemen to adapt to pressure when run blocking, and getting one guy in the backfield early can really mess everything up

    • @cmd31220

      @@tylerbrantner4026 yes and no. The problem is that running a zero blitz opens you up like no tomorrow if they have a competent run blocking scheme. That extra Blitzer means nothing if the running back is already 5 yards up field.
      Our defense against running teams was mostly a soft form of a 4-6 where the outside 2 linebackers are replaced with safeties to take away option plays.

    • @mroverdose14
      @mroverdose14 2 роки тому +10

      @@cmd31220 Your coach was smart. But the best thing to do was to attack the seams with TEs which are basically WRs in Highschool and would beat most blitzers with no over the top help. 4-6 vs a balance team would open you up to deep shots on post nasty. Any team that can throw and have a decent run game would cause you problems. You could run a "Heavy" cover 4 were safeties are 7 yards off the line but are your D-alley players (Rams run this and My high school I coached did the same). Safeties have to be smart, fast and can tackle. this defense works for undersized teams that are fast cause runners will be forced to the edges where you can rally and the two high safety look takes away post and seams pre snap and if the safeties do their jobs it's gone post snap.
      But of course inside power and inside trap neglects the safety help if they can out muscle you inside even while being out numbered....ie no Talent in the front seven

    • @cmd31220
      @cmd31220 2 роки тому +27

      @@mroverdose14 yeah we got beat a few times with those seams, but it's a pretty simple fix in the way we did it because the way we ran our zero blitzes was that the key read wasn't the interior linemen to drop back off the read of the center, but the outside linebackers against the furthest wide skill player in the box. Basically think a safeties responsibility in a more man style of quarters.
      If that player made any kind of vertical release, they peeled off and covered. Anything short is cleaned up by the DBs playing off coverage. Otherwise, they just blitzed as normal.
      But yeah, when we played truly balanced teams, we got roasted. Curse of the small school. That's what happened pretty much every year once we won our district. We go to the playoffs and get smacked by a real school.

    I also think a qb draw (especially with Lamar) would be extremely effective if you could bait the defense with the center’s eyes. With an edge rusher out of the equation and linebackers backpedaling, you’d just have Lamar in open space with the right blocking.

    I can imagine how much fun the Miami defense must’ve been having in this game. The defensive line actually gets way move involved and secondary has higher interception chances. That’s what is so fun about playing defense in football. Even though it’s a guessing game as to what the offense will do, if you can control specific variables such as immediate pass rush or packing the box, defense gets hype because the odds tip to their advantage. Great breakdown!

      It wasn’t supposed to work for very long, if at all, in this game. Greg Roman is just that stubborn or inept to think he can beat it in other ways. And from the constant screens he tried for 3 quarters, it’s starting to look like he really was clueless until someone told him these plays in the last 5 minutes.

    • @88888888mvr
      @88888888mvr 2 роки тому +4

      he misses two points on these quick outs and slants. 1) this is the point of the defense. to force this. rushers starts getting their hands up creating a lot of tipped passes which everyone knows turns into picks. 2) dolphins defense was still blitzing but the DBs were playing a little more conservative by the time the ravens started calling these types of plays. dolphins ran this defense a lot last year which is why they forced so many turnovers. looked up their defensive highlights from last year. this is nothing new. they didn’t start running it again this season until 3 weeks ago against the bills (supposedly because it seemed the phins personnel couldn’t handle it until then). that’s why the defense is ranked so poorly this year
