      He’s not referring to Deshaun Watson (though getting him out of here needed to definitely get done).
      He’s referring to Jack Easterby, the now former VP of Football Operations.
      That guy was nothing but a slithering fucking lizard that conned his way into positions he had no business being in.
      But thankfully, Lovie and his majestic grey beard made like Gandalf in TLOR and knocked whatever trance Grima Wormtongue (Easterby) had on Cal and they threw that slithering lizard out the stone steps of Rohan and made sure he hit every step on the way down.

      Now what's happening? Ol' Micro-managing Frank is pacing the sidelines watching his schemes fail, but not changing them. He's scowling at the field hoping he'll spot a clue as to how to tweak them because He Knows they only need tweaking.

Texans kept getting into trouble trying to score Nick Casario, got fined for tampering. And it was coming out that Jack Easterby, the team preacher, was a major inside influencer on personal discussions.
      B.o.B. and Easterby took every bit of control after Bob McNair passed, and honestly I think the Watson shitstorm started to wake Cal up that the foxes where in the hen house, and last year Lovie Smith pounded the final nail in the coffin by ousting the Preacher.
      Anyone who didn't left the fan base in the last 5 years, had many acceptable reasons. This off-season, Cal and the Texans Org have actually made a culture shift and started to repair the relationship with the fans. This is the first year since Bob McNair passed that the Org seems to want to win. And that was what my whole post was about, Texans fans finally got a team that feels like they deserve the support. They may not be the best team, or even a good, but it's a team that wants to improve.

      not sure why anyone would ever jump to that conclusion from one preseason game. but at least you changed your mind. Stroud is due for a poor performance or two going forward this year, i would avoid jumping to conclusions on those as well. That feeling that Brett has about the Texans is how I feel as a Bears fan right now. For real, I had this feeling since they hired Eberflus. I was not convinced he was a good pick because he was basically picked by the owners, who I have full belief that they don’t know how to build a winning organization. It just sucks because you can see the good, but it’s getting sabotaged by a coach and GM that are trying to hoard picks.

    • @01cton
      @01cton 8 місяців тому

      Unfortunately, as a Texans fan, I know the person Brett was talking about is Jack Easterby. He was corrupting the very heart of the organization. He had the McNair’s in the palm of his hand and had basically free reign. He set people up to take the fall for things that were part of his agenda. For example he commanded someone to fire a bunch of employees and they were all black, soon rumors came out the person who fired them was racist and the optics were bad so he got fired. It was a legitimate game of thrones situation where he got people he didn’t like fired and got his cronies in charge.

    I was also high on Tank Dell. Was hoping my Lions would draft Dell but its cool CJ got his guy that he connected with during the lead up to the draft.
    The Bryce Young #1 mob got it wrong. I will say I was wrong with Anthony Richardson. Small samplr size and he took a big hit and got hurt but theyve coached him well and his completion rate and production have been better than I expexted early on.
    Hope they all hit though. The league needs better qb play in the bottom end.

      Thing with Richardson is he's got the right coach helping him out. Shane Steichen has worked with mobile QBs with big arms to help develop an easy pass game to take advantage of attacking deep. If anything I feel both him and Stroud could fail with the Panthers because not only is the roster lackluster but the play calling on offense doesn't really know how to use their guys.

Fast forward to now, and while I've become more of a Kansas City fan in recent years (really ever since Patrick Mahomes took Tom Brady to overtime in his first ever AFC title game, he's become my favorite QB ever), the departure of Dan Snyder has made me excited to watch Washington again. How is Bryce Young going to perform at the level he can with poor roster around him and worse, a system that doesn't even know what to do with his skill set? Granted the Texans are on a similar boat in talent but really their issues right now are an injured O-line. Which has hampered their ability for their really good RB to ball out and set the tone for the play action which Slowik (the play caller) as an OZ guy has for a scheme. The Panthers have shown no creativity in the run game so far and just trying to jam inside zone with Miles Sanders for no yards. Then they leave Bryce on an island on 3rd and long passing downs playing shotgun and trying to pass to a receiver group led by Theilen who can't separate. While using curl/comeback routes to get beyond the sticks.

      I just assumed he had it too easy in College. He had an undeniable talent with throwing the football, but there have been tons of great passers not work out because they could not adjust to the speed of the game or for whatever other reasons. It actually seems to be a benefit that he played with such great O-lines and WRs, because he expects his WRs to win the coverage battle and he was able to develop that Anticipation that he throws with because of that.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 8 місяців тому

      Depends on who you ask. Personally I think Stroud would have worked as a QB1 in that draft too if he was put in the right situation. I think some of his reps that showed his spotty pocket presence had people thinking it was going to be worse in the pros (especially being in a bad team that doesn't invest well in O-line). But I always thought his game at worse reminded me of Goff playing under center and executing play action. Bryce's game def looked like a floor raiser but given his roster situation with the Panthers, they have even worse in talent. As well as a coaching staff on offense who doesn't seem to get it yet.
