St. Anger was actually quite a good album IMO. It was more heavy and angry then their previous albums (mainly load/reload which I have nothing against)

Man if Lars had a real snare drum during the recording and if they let Kirk solo in the album, St. Anger would actually be pretty good. Great performance, btw.

I personally believe that St. Anger defies ratings, because there is no consensus that you can really form on how good or bad it is. It's just an album that you either love or hate. It's different things to different people. It was my first metal album, and it was an escape. Your opinion of St. Anger is whatever you want it to be. There is just nothing else like it.
i'm hearing people say things like "this here drummer should replace Lars", nobody could replace Mr. Ulrich. he's the core of the band not just because he's the main rythym to their songs as the drummer, but because he's the founder of this band. People can play these songs and they can play the double bass but metallica just wouldn't be the same without Lars. Now don't get me wrong, i respect Cliff Burton and Jason Newsted, but honestly, can anyone replace Mr. Ulrich as Metallica's drummer?
