I'm from NZ but now live in Australia forget how clean and prestine the rivers are what a great advertisement for the South Island fantastic scenery and great boating skills everyone should experience a jetboat ride my dad had one we plow up and down the Waikato river even go up ski ramps thanks for the well made video
Sweet baby jesus dude I knew New Zealand was beautiful but this takes it to an entirely different level. You guys have it made, beautiful people and beautiful back country!!! I think I need to come live there for a few years... no joke.
Excellent video! Those boats are crazy cool!! Nice choice for the soundtrack music that top things off! This is totally what Im into being a machinist/fabricator/CAD/welder guy myself...Cant wait to do something like this myself someday in the near future...Great great build. Hope to see more videos soon
I've been on the Dart a couple of times with Wilderness Jet. Once coming off the Reece/Dart tracks January 2000, and then on one of their safari trips a couple of years later. He did take us into a wee spur, but it was not as narrow as the one you guys explored, and our boat was way too big anyway. Coming off the Dart track is one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and had me me laughing hysterically all the way to Glenorchy.
How do you guys travel al the waterways and never wet a line? There has to be great fishing here. I hunt Moose and Elk and go in for 30 days or more and the woods and rivers are like a super market if you know where to look. Love being alone with nature. Last trip was for 43 days alone and did well. TKS
Any company building or importing these boats to Europe? I was looking for one a couple of years ago but could only find them in 'down under' or US/CA. Bought a Seadoo Spark when they were released instead. Weird that none build a jetski in aluminium also. I don't like the idea of fiber laminate cracking and getting 'water sick'.
Dan Very strong stainless steel plates with reinforcing ribs usually almost indestructible unless you try rel hard. Also they pretty much glide on top you can go in 2 inches of water with rocky bottom no problem
Where's Clint Eastwood? The music makes me think that for 'A Few Dollars More' the 'Pale Rider' might 'Make my Day' and find himself in one of the boats and run 'The Gauntlet'.
Awsome video, I want to go back down there at some stage! check out my jet boat videos from my trip down there end of last year if you get time. Cheers
Different water toys for different purposes. These mini boats mostly run jet ski running gear out of any make and model ski - honda, kawa, yamaha, seadoo - they've all been used or are being used here. I've seen all types of running gear - 2 strokes are cheaper to buy and rebuild, lighter, fairly simple to transplant, 4 strokes are way more expensive to buy, probably a bit more reliable and definitely more fuel efficient but very expensive to rebuild. That said there are plenty of guys running 4 stroke ski set ups. Small car motors out of suzuki swifts and the like are also popular. Most guys upgrade the jet ski units to handle stones and gravel going through them - standard jet ski units aren't designed for that kind of abuse. Or they buy a mini unit some jet boat builders here make. A glass jetski probably wouldn't last one trip up that river, they're not designed to be used in shallow gravel bottomed rivers, they'd be holed/damaged pretty quickly. Some guys have build pontoon alloy jet boats running jet ski gear for out at sea and up rivers, more multi use but way more expensive. It all comes down to what the owner really wants in a toy. BTW, we have a jet boat and four stroke jet ski so have vast experience in both - and on that river.
I came here while looking at jet boats. I found myself sitting back and smiling like a kid!
You guys are amazing! Love the boats!

Did you buy that boat or make it
Before the steel boats we did it in the 80's glass boats and fucked them up! But had a blast...
looks like a video game

wots the music??
Epic
That song sounds very Rolling Stoneseque. What is it ?
ROTAXD a song
Aluminum on the bottom of the boats or are they reinforced??
Dan Very strong stainless steel plates with reinforcing ribs usually almost indestructible unless you try rel hard. Also they pretty much glide on top you can go in 2 inches of water with rocky bottom no problem
A lot of people attach sheets of UHMW.
wow!
What they cost usd
Where's this located love to go there
Dart River
I want one...
Thought this was British Columbia, Canada. Then I googled the dart river no way that's New Zealand and not BC that's BC! That looks like Pitt river
Where's Clint Eastwood? The music makes me think that for 'A Few Dollars More' the 'Pale Rider' might 'Make my Day' and find himself in one of the boats and run 'The Gauntlet'.
Great Video, NO GAY MUSIC!! YAY!! Hello from California, we cant do any of this here..... those boats are awsome
Dream of me
How much does one of those jet boats cost?
Around $25k NZ
@@torqingheads Guess that sounds about right for its special capabilities. Thanks.
Nevermind. Must be New Zealand.
где купить такую ?
Awsome video, I want to go back down there at some stage! check out my jet boat videos from my trip down there end of last year if you get time. Cheers
Ever try fishing? Nobody can get to those spots
Not many fish in the dart, dirty glacial fed river.
goodtunes
Какова цена? И где его можно купить?
В авито смотри раздел моторные лодки в хабаровске
This looks like video game...
On the flip side I often wonder why other countries let their rivers turn in to "shit holes" full of plastics
and garbage ?
Old music was so much better
Yeah, but didn’t have the rights to it.
We have beautiful scenery minus the wild animals that can hurt & kill you.
One of those videos where you leave volume down
The video is not so good without the old soundtrack
Nice old technology... I rather have a Honda jet ski, from wave riding, tow surf and fishing and much more reliable.

Only good thing about the honda jet ski is the running gear, throw the hull out and put the running gear into a jet boat like in my videos!
