I used to kayak with my dad when he was alive. I haven't been since he passed. I was supposed to take his ashes to Antietam and put them in the water when I go kayaking but just haven't found the strength or anyone to go with. I miss kayaking with my dad. It was what he loved. So much that he worked for river and trails doing kayaking trips. This video made me think of my dad.
I bet your dad would want you to have fun and go kayaking again :) when you think of him don't be sad and remember the good times I hope you find a buddy to do it with again, and I think it would do you good to fulfill your dad's wish and get rid of that mental burden you will feel freer in your mind afterward :) wishing you all the best

As a cyclist I just love how it doesn't matter what sport it is just a group of mates doing something fun results in the same clowning and getting stoked on each others enjoyment so cool to see! Loved the 'accidental bashing' into your mate at the end!

It's not like they even ride single file or anything like they should. Their casual chat as they ride along is important and your deadline be damned. This is why I don't ever cycle in a group. Cycling is lone transportation. And by myself I manage to appease my rights, whilst not putting myself in danger or inconveniencing others. 30 cyclists in a group is a mob and none of them are obeying the law, or being courteous Road users.

If two cars have just overtaken me on a skinny road, I also may pull up behind them at the next red light, instead of coasting past them whilst they are stopped, only for me to be in their way again. A lot of cyclists, have a lot of ego about their cycling. That's a fact. What I meant by them not obeying the law on a group of 30, is the fact that they don't obey the law in those big groups. They don't stick to a single lane, and they don't indicate. A group of cyclists swelling and shrinking inside and outside of lanes is not, riding abreast. Riding abreast is two people riding next to each other obeying the road rules in the nominated cycle lane. If you are riding abreast in a lane also dedicated to traffic, you deserve to be run over. You think every driver is paying attention? Safety is your own responsibility.
I love how everyone waits for the person behind them to make the drop and cheers them on. It sucks being at the back and in trouble and finding out everyone else has moved on to the next thing.
This was so entertaining all the way through. I also like that you had a few buddies with you and everyone waited up after the drops. A smart/safe group of adrenaline junkies 🤓

Thanks Dane. My Adapted PE students went crazy doing this for a virtual fitness field trip. You should of heard them go nuts shouting using their pool noodles as an oar. We also talked about how the buddy system was used to ensure all were safe, doing pitstops at the drops and waiting up for everyone. How you all kept communicating helpful info while having a great time. I am sure that they will be putting this one in the Can We Do This Again pile. I just had to add it to our virtual field trip file for repeat workouts.

Its nice aye when i was younger a whopping 15 years ago lol rivers around me where really clean you could LITERALLY drink it now the rocks are covered year round in disgusting slime and come summer time there that bad even dogs get sick swimming in them its horrible i grew up at the river with my mates i would love to share that with my kid dunno where your from but this is in rual New Zealand supposedly a clean and green country my ass

Also a kiwi, grew up in the Kauaeranga Valley (Thames/Coromandel) and after school every day in summer we’d go swim in the river, the water was always beautifully clear and clean. Never had to worry about toxic algae or any of that. I went on an exchange to France in high school when I was there I was thinking how sad it was that a lot of their rivers were so polluted they couldn’t swim in them, I couldn’t imagine that at home. And the angle was actually educational: you could see the run, the angle the dip and how he navigated it. And then turning around and watching others come through. Really...you could narrate and teach.
So proud of my hometown. Molina is a small city near the Andes in south Central Chile and the waters he's kayaking are extremely cold most of the time and it's surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The place is a national park called Radal 7 Tazas (Radal being a native tree and 7 cups because of the seven consecutive waterfalls of one the most iconic views of the area)

Maybe start on an easier river 😂 Whitewater kayaking is a blast though! I would recommend looking into class 1-2 rivers near you. The Nantahala in North Carolina is an excellent place to start if you’re in or near the Southeastern US

I can imagine waiting is necessary for safety reasons. If one fails his drop and hurts himself the other can help him if they are waiting.

Thanks Dane. My Adapted PE students went crazy doing this for a virtual fitness field trip. You should of heard them go nuts shouting using their pool noodles as an oar. We also talked about how the buddy system was used to ensure all were safe, doing pitstops at the drops and waiting up for everyone. How you all kept communicating helpful info while having a great time. I am sure that they will be putting this one in the Can We Do This Again pile. I just had to add it to our virtual field trip file for repeat workouts.

@@ChiefyBea adapted pe is for disabled students, if i remember right, so they might be unable to do something like this in real life. it might not be the real deal, but it's a great way for someone who is unable to be there physically to experience it. some might even be motivated to train up to try and do the real deal one day! it's not an illusion, it's a reflection of reality, and can be used for experiences that might not be possible due to physical, monetary, or other kinds of limitations

1:37-When you put the gopro underwater and it got a shot of how clean, turquoise, clear the water was, it was astronomical my jaw dropped.
I couldn't imagine how fun it would be swimming in that- ofc if it wasn't located in those rapids.
Its nice aye when i was younger a whopping 15 years ago lol rivers around me where really clean you could LITERALLY drink it now the rocks are covered year round in disgusting slime and come summer time there that bad even dogs get sick swimming in them its horrible i grew up at the river with my mates i would love to share that with my kid dunno where your from but this is in rual New Zealand supposedly a clean and green country my ass

Also a kiwi, grew up in the Kauaeranga Valley (Thames/Coromandel) and after school every day in summer we’d go swim in the river, the water was always beautifully clear and clean. Never had to worry about toxic algae or any of that. I went on an exchange to France in high school when I was there I was thinking how sad it was that a lot of their rivers were so polluted they couldn’t swim in them, I couldn’t imagine that at home. And now 😭

And the angle was actually educational: you could see the run, the angle the dip and how he navigated it. And then turning around and watching others come through. Really...you could narrate and teach.
So proud of my hometown. Molina is a small city near the Andes in south Central Chile and the waters he's kayaking are extremely cold most of the time and it's surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The place is a national park called Radal 7 Tazas (Radal being a native tree and 7 cups because of the seven consecutive waterfalls of one the most iconic views of the area)

Maybe start on an easier river 😂 Whitewater kayaking is a blast though! I would recommend looking into class 1-2 rivers near you. The Nantahala in North Carolina is an excellent place to start if you’re in or near the Southeastern US
