for a beginner this most be a perfect quad.
Great looking Quad, nice flight.. don't forget to bend your antenna on the TX for better reception (sets a good example too)

All versions with the black rubber balls on the feet and black motor tops are per-production models. If you look closely it's different to the one he actually shows you at the beginning. Check out all the videos on UA-cam, black feet bottoms and black motor tops equal pre-production models. All release versions have grey feet balls and grey motor tops ;-)

Real nice Review & hobby King is not good on tracking or delivery on many things but it usually arrives about the time you think you will never get it ! !

Needles to say it's a Phantom copy, but I hope there will be no fly-aways as it is with DJI stuff. And if it happens, lets hope Walkera will not deny this like DJI, and provide good customer support as they doing it very well by now...
It was easy doing fpv on my phantom,just used the immersion 5.8,spiral antennas and fatshark all from Hobbyking and used my gopro camera as the fpv camera

Oversized landing gear. All it needs is four thin legs, each comes down directly from under propellers.

I considered this quad, but decided on the Phantom after reading reviews and comparisons. Love my Phantom FC40 complete with hi res wifi camera for $499 and free shipping.
***** You're correct. The range is poor on the stock camera that came with the FC40 however, I'm not interested in POV. I rarely fly my Phantom more than a few hundred feet away. It's usually within line of site. I also upgraded to a Go Pro which produces better images and video. The Phantom FC40 is essentially a Phantom 2 with extended transmitter range. In fact the receiver is the exact same receiver and has Phantom II written on it. The FC40 deserves a closer look. It does have a cheaper camera, but paired with the GoPro it suits my needs. I sold the FC40 camera for $110 bucks and it offset my Go Pro purchase. To each his own. What may be perfect for you may be a piece of SH*T for others and vice versa.

Video Biz NYC It was a one time 24-hour sale on a site called *Woot.com*, I read one night a guy saying it on RCGroups and went to see, and there it was brand new DJI Phantom 1.1.1. for $399, next day it was gone.

I don't see any copies here... It was inspired by the Phantom, but that's about it. Other shell frame style quads existed before the Phantom so we can say the Phantom was inspired by other designs as well...
Have a feeling you might be correct-well pleased with the DJI Phantom,however I will need to buy one to compare..nearly finished a Phantom review site,so will compare the two.
I would not be surprised if DJI have something to do with this, as a form of double trading on the product.
This looks similar to the regular DJI Phantom.

Its likely that its not a "knock off" but like the traxxas and the hubsan quad copter its the exact same product from the exact same manafacture (pardon the spelling)

hmm well €399.98 for this one 419,00 € for Phantom... I recommend Phantom, been flying it for some time quite extensively, not a single issue and from what I seen on on this video the auto landing looks scatchy not sure whats inside but Phantom with Naza have much smoother auto landing. Also nobody is talking about fly times in this videos which is one of the most important things. Phantom fully loaded with GoPro and FatShark FPV have solid 8 min and some spare of flight time, 11min with nothing on it...
similar yes, would not say its a knockoff. but just the lower priced competition from the walkera and the blade 350 qx has brought phantom prices way down
The only thing is dont like about the enclosed bodies is it looks a little hassle to attach fpv parts

what happens if there is an obstacle between the quad and the start position will it crash into it or does it follow flight patterns to know a safe route home
I watch the DJ & Blade go home feature and this one seem to bound around before it land.
hummm. I like the DJ but not the 1st version I am waiting for the DJ Vision. But now I see the Blade 350 and this one I may cchange my mind about the DJ phantom.

I have the DJI Phantom that is great in gps mode and really an experience in manual mode-Anyone know what gps this uses? -would not be the Naza board,see already on Banggood for $539,will be interesting to see the cost from Hobbyking

Anyone receive their X350 from Hobbyking yet? I'm still waiting for mine and tracking on Hongkong post doesn't work for the tracking number they gave me ... frustrating ... I really want to get flying this bird.

Is that not a good thing, the more people that copy them to a good quality the more the prices drops on everything, I think it's a very good thing for business and customers, businesses have to improve their product to make it cheaper, so we get better stuff, cheaper.

OK been asking for over a couple months, seems RC crowd are so tight group they don't want new hobbyists in their little group. =(
Looking for a "beginner level" fixed wing and quad that will be eventually upgraded with a camera?
You might as well look into building your own multirotor it is a lot easier than you think and cheaper than prebuilt ones. You can also customize how large, fast, far, and whatever you want it to do. Always room for upgrades. I'll spend under 500$ to build a beginner one then once comfortable throwing DSLR onto it, throw in another couple hundred for gimbal and possibly better rotors or parts.

Look how the RTH did, its not that great. it almost hit the pilot and the look on his face was like why it didn't land where I took off from. Why they didn't show him and the quad in the same frame while he was holding the tx or why he didn't put the tx on the ground. It look like to me he was trying to correct for the RTH. My Mega board 3.0 black and blue GPS works way better than that
