- *350 Class Quad-copters are popping up everywhere. When I got the ad from HK, them being first, I ordered it, as I am still waiting for my BLADE 350x, which is similar only by size.
It is due to show up this week, and I will do a comparison video between all 3 of them. This WK QR x350 is a nice machine, docile and a good platform for cameras.

I really never thought about the blades need to be the righ place as I am a noob with choppers, and I you really made me happy and made me change blade on my ardrone

Thank you sir. I believe in order to talk about a product and compare it, means I have to buy them to do that. I dont mind though, as aerial photography has been in my blood since I was involved with it in the Marine Corps Aviation since '67 and RF4B jets with IR cams. I am still addicted as you. yep, say the Walkera QR X350 too on ad from HK, tempted :-) Seems like a very nice combo, love the backlight on the TX, I also have a 7 channel heli TX from Walkera but older version, very nice and smooth in handling also.

Oops! I forgot to add...when the ESC fried last night; I was about 75-100' in altitude. I was practicing flying "manual mode" in the wind (much expo!), and concentrating; not noticing a couple of weird "port-side dips." Thank God the GoPro survived, and this "black-box" recording shows the "dips," I thought were "wind gusts." I now have a cool video of what "falling like a rock" means!
Atlanta Hobby has been awesome...I am, however, leary of DJI??

Haha. You got that right. I am so used to night flying with red on the left and green on the right, I have to concentrate more on planes and helis with unusual configurations. It is more difficult than just moving LEDs though as those lights are built into the speed controllers. If I switch 2 of them, I will have FAA style and not all that hard. Thanks.,

The battery voltage and amperage are printed in black on the black plastic wrapping on the opposite side to the silver label.
Extremely similar in flight, but the Mode LEDs are easier to read and the 1 button return to home is easier to perform than the DJI. But same motors, props, etc, so flight is smooth.
Thanks for the video...I just got my Walkera QR x350 Quadcopter... looking forward to flying it, just have to put it together and set up transmitter... I am new to this, so I am hoping I get everything set up as it should be... Kind of nervous about it all...once I get everything set and a better understanding i should be alright..
To use your dx7 you would need to fit a spektrum receiver to the model. Only thing to remember the gear channel needs to be assigned to a three position switch to get all GPS functions.
The Blade 350x sucks according to many owners. Their main complaint is that the propellers break in mid air leading to a certain crash. There's many videos showing that defect. They also complain about the poor support from Horizon Hobby whenever they had called to claim warranty due to this issue. Good luck with yours whenever you get it. I hope that doesn't happen to you my friend. Great video and review.

I nearly went for this one from HK too Dave but for some reason I wasn't keen on the looks lol,like you I have had my Blade 350QX on order from a local online store and I should have it any day now,i already have the Ideafly Ifly-4 quad and a few micros,plus a couple of home built ones with KK2.0 board and one with the AMP Ardu 2.5 board,these quads are getting a bit addictive just like the planes. :-)

I almost ordered the Walkera QR x350 but decided on the Blade 350 QX mainly because the Blade offers a couple extra flight modes... Thanks for your review I think both are going to be great quad-copters and the I already have the Walkera MX400 UFO really looking forward to moving up to the GPS function... Like you have I have not received my Blade yet but they are saying it will be here on Thursday...

Great video. I hope you are going to tell me the Blade 350 is better. That's what I ordered. I normally wait to see reviews, but I got caught up in the moment :-). Dave you always look so fit. When I hit 54 I really put on the weight. I'm tired of it. Just a funny note. I posted a comment on HobbyKings UA-cam sight, "I miss Josh Bixler and Josh Scott's reviews". They blocked me from the sight. I have spent at least $2500 at HobbyKing and made UA-cam videos on their stuff. Not very happy!
The larger red banana plug will fit the walkera plug reversed for charging

I have one and the battery leads are easy to pull apart, also I have the one from centuryuk and it had a devo f7 and flys 2.4 with video on 5.2, although it could be a little more responsive on the controls as I, used to the ladybird that walkera do which is hyper sensitive

Hey Dave, someone may have mentioned this already, but HK has a ready made adapter for the Walkera plugs - I did a search on their site for "Walkera QR 350" and the plug showed up. $2.11 ... might be worth adding into your next order. Or, just solder it up yourself to your fav. ;-) Cheers, J.
My understanding is, DJI is going to release the Phantom "Vision" and a Phantom II?
Supposedly a $150 rebate to anyone who bought a Phantom, prior to 09.01.2013.
Before you buy, you might check with DJI.
Another former Marine (FMFPac Okinawa 70's) reporting "TOP". Love all your vids, DJI Phantoms lots of flyaways here in youtube, how about Storm Drone 6 w/gps and Walkera 350 QR I'm still battling between these two, I need your advice for this two quads for filming purposes.......Thanks Top.
Another great video Dave - Did you use DJI Props or did you paint the tips on yours orange? By now, I am sure you know HobbyKing sells a nice XT60 to HXT 3.5mm Connector Battery Adapter. Do you balance each motor and prop together using a Laser Pointer? If not, look up how the guys at Flite Test do it. It really makes the Quad fly even better.

Great review, but they have dropped the price of the DJI to $479 RTF now that they're getting some serious competition :) . I paid full price about 6 months ago :( , but, it is what it is. I'll probably buy the frame for this one and put my own guts in, and same with the Blade.
Could you tell me best way to disconnect the leds on the walkera qr x350 pro. I alrady installed aeronautical faa reg lights. Just want to get rid of the clown colours. Thanks much

How do you get 10mins from the battery? Even with a 2600mah aftermarket battery I am still lucky to get 6 or 7 mins before the low voltage light starts flashing and have to come down and land. Is it just me or as soon as the low voltage light starts blinking, does the quad seem to handle differently? it is very disconcerting, especially if flying over water or near obstacles, it just seems to get a bit twitchy and weird
well I wish I could get my x350 to fly like that, had nothing but trouble with mine, I do have two DJI PHANTOM that fly great no trouble in wind everything, do you find the x350 flies the same in GPS mode as the Phantom.at the moment I have bolted the under carriage of the x350 on because it broke off in a landing, have new body but waiting until I get it to fly correctly
I have a QR 350X. Experience = novice plus. My pros are the same as yoGurs. My cons are as follows (possibly user error). The GPS hold works great - but if you try to move while in GPS mode the 350X returns to the hold location. There is no intelligent orientation. Mine gets 50 yards away and I can't tell whgich way gis front.My big problem - I input forward(or anything else) and return to neutral and the quad continues to accelerate in that direction until I input the opposite input. Is it me?

Let me know how you like the Blade vs this. I loved my ladybird but got tired of supporting it waiting for parts coming from China. I did pick up a Devo 10 radio and am running DeviationTX firmware on it. I'm planning on getting the Blade personally, but would like to know how they compare.

What the heck is the deal with the compass? Do you have to do that with the Phantom? Flip it over in 3 directions!
1st viewer feels great
DJI is only a "two-axis" dance; but this appears to kick my Phantom's fanny (wish I would have bought a Flamewheel, a QAV, or 3DRobotics, in the first place!
Phantom is good (cooked two ESC's and a motor so far, though; and my Zenmuse H3-2D "cooked" the roll axis gimbal, while I was doing an advanced calibration the other night??); but I'm highly disappointed. Much, MY BAD, for not buying a 400 class or better...and with control over picking ESC's, motors etc.

I put an AR8000 in it, and use a DX-8. That helped a bunch!
Yesterday, though (remember, H3-2D cooked itself during calibration...as did the rear starboard ESC and motor. This was in a prior calibration session.
UNFORTUNATELY, last night...the port rear ESC "fried" so my Phantom is probably DOA...at least the shell. The board, Naza, motors all seem to check-out. Probably, take the "guts" (except ESC's!) and build a real quad. FYI!

I know the DJI Phantom is great for beginners and they start around the same price. I have the Phantom 2 Vision and I love it. Happy flying!
