    Back in the day (1950's -60's), advertisements for this product recommended that it be applied to damp, post-shower hair, and massaged into the scalp for 50 seconds, then combed or brushed for 10 seconds, making for a "60 second workout."

      I'm reading a 1941 Time Magazine which has a Vitalis Ad which says that! The massaging of the head was big back then. JFK used to get his secretaries to massage oil into his head daily and he noted that it might work because he was the only man in his office with a full head of hair!

    Vitalis and Brylcreem were most popular in the 50s and 60's. I always like the smell of Vitalis. Also popular back in the day was Vaseline hair tonic.

    I have been using it all my life as did my father. It works well and holds the shape you want. It is best used with the hair damp. Please read the label. You DO NOT need as much as this person has used.
    If you would have used it as it tells you to you would notice more of a hold and control without having to use a lot of product.

    Propylene glycol is also antifreeze in cars. How they figured you could use it on your hair is the 8th wonder of the world.

    • @JohnGrove310
      @JohnGrove310 2 роки тому +2

      Propylene glycol is a synthetic food additive that belongs to the same chemical group as alcohol. It's good at retaining moisture which is why it is ideal for a hair product.

    • @RedwolfDogrocket

      Its also used as a carrying agent in inhalers and now in vapes.
      P.G is a safer version of the classic anti freeze.
      Vaping can turn it carcinogenic if over heated.
      Dont vape just use vape as a quitting tool.

      I'd say that it's working the way it's supose to be working on your hair. Only a little goes a long way, and only once a week applications are necessary along with every other day hair washings will do it correctly for you. Seems that from what your saying, being stiff, your blessed with a good crop of nice, thick hair and only needs just once a week hair training attention.

    • @QueenAmethyst55
      @QueenAmethyst55 2 роки тому +2

      @@danbasta3677 Because hair is hair. If a product suits your type of hair and it's aimed mainly at men, but helps women why not use it. Hope you're not as narrow minded in other matters! I use Brylcream overnight to condition my dry hair. Strange you'd have a problem with that! 🙄

    • @danbasta3677
      @danbasta3677 2 роки тому +2

      @@QueenAmethyst55 Not narrow minded, just being honest. These days, mens hair products are fading away and all that's left are hair products that are designed specificly for women, and they all smell like a bouquet of flowers. No man wants to smell like a bouquet of flowers. I don't have a problem with it, you are the one with the problem here, as written, there are tons and tons of products made and distributed for women and for their hair types and uses, men today hardly have anything left to use for their hair and hair types and specific uses.
