“But you’ve got thick hair…” There’s a lot to make it look like this. Ha ha! Go back to some of my first ever videos on UA-cam (2012) and you’ll see how fine and flyaway it is.
Here's the biggest reason to let this video run and give it a thumbs up and positive comment. Robin puts the list in the description. You're not forced to watch it all or go back to write the name of something down. It's there, time stamped and in the description. I know men's personal care seems to spike then drop then spike then drop so for anyone new here or coming in during a spike in the future this is definitely a must watch channel. He doesn't try to pander to some ideal of men or to try and make you feel like you need this to look a certain way he just gives you advise from his personal experience.
I'm not a man, but your hair is extremely similar to mine, and I recently got a shorter cut, and your videos have already been extremely helpful for me! my hair is also quite thin and I've been self conscious but seeing someone else with a similar hair density to me still able to style it so well gives me a lot of hope :)
2:03 Actual start time. I miss Redkin NBD. I have no idea why they discontinued it but it was so perfect. I have a lot of hair but it’s very thin/fine. After the shower it looks poofy (think Prince Harry.) I loved that I could put it in my wet hair, it would add volume and body and I could lean on the couch and it not transfer like most of the styling pastes that I use.

Thanks a ton for this video. Though I was wondering there does Kevin Murphy anti gravity volumizer stand in comparison to all these products in this video ?
I have read that because people start thinning and losing their hair is because there genetics make them make more dht then normal and because it's high and not balanced it starts thinning your hair that's why finasteride works but the side effects are from reducing dht to much you don't want to stop dht completely or reduce it to barely nothing you still want dht just at normal and balanced Levels

Hey robin, any opinion on the Kevin Murphy thickening treatments? There’s a couple but there is one specifically for men. Curious to see how good it is.
Can we use these thickening sprays with volume powder? The only reason I am looking for thickening spray is because when there is light or sun in your hair you can see through your hairs and it’s really bothering especially when taking photos
I can't find it, or perhaps there's too much information to sift through, but can you use nioxin diaboost and gel? If so, what would be the best combination? Spray, blow dry, gel? Gel, dry, spray, then blow dry?

Hi. Would you use a volumising mousse after applying Nioxin 3D booster or go straight to a clay for hold? I saw both the mousse and nioxin need to be applied to damp hair and dryer activated, so not sure if you use both one after the other or either or. Thanks.
Hey Robin, I have hair similiar to yours. I prefer to style it slicked back, but not neccesarily slicked if you know what I mean. I've been using Hanz De Fuko Claymation for years now. I've been looking for a new product that will give my hair seperation, with a strong hold, and will work in my finer hair. I always prestyle with hair dryer and Aveda TT. Any recommendations? I wash my hair everyday and style it at least 4-5 times a week btw.
Have you ever tried Hanz the fuko modify pomade? It's perfect for relaxed slick back, with texture and separation and a bit of shine (not greasy but natural). For fine hair it has a good hold
I used Reuzel Extreme Hold Matte Pomade for a long time, and it works wonderfully. Do not let the word "pomade" throw you off; I would never think of it as a pomade. The hold is very strong, and as long as you don't use too much, it really is matte. It is the one in the grey tin. I do not see it on their website currently. I hope that means it's just sold out right now and not that it has been discontinued. I also just started using O'Douds Matte Paste, and I really like it. The hold isn't quite as strong as the Reuzel, but I enjoy the texture, and it seems to remain matte not matter how much I layer it up. That said, regardless of the product you use to style, using some kind of thickening pre-styler with a blow dryer makes all the difference. The Aveda Thickening Tonic mentioned in the video is amazing, but it's fairly costly for the size. I have settled with Reuzel Spray Grooming Tonic. It seems to work nearly as well as the Aveda for me, but it's a fraction of the price per volume. My first bottle is lasting me forever. Additionally, the ingredients in it act as a heat-protectant, so you don't have to worry about the blow dryer damaging your hair.
“But you’ve got thick hair…” There’s a lot to make it look like this. Ha ha!
Go back to some of my first ever videos on UA-cam (2012) and you’ll see how fine and flyaway it is.

I used Reuzel Extreme Hold Matte Pomade for a long time, and it works wonderfully. Do not let the word "pomade" throw you off; I would never think of it as a pomade.
