1. Black and White by Pluko 2. Tancho pomade 3. Nu Nile pomade 4. Sweet Georgia Brown (red tin) 5. Royal Crown pomade (Murray's Super Light & Murray's eXellento as honorable mentions)
I have use tancho pomade my uncle said it smells like Chinese medicine but i like tancho for its shineness but the smell still stick to your hair eventhough i've washed it already
Have you ever tried Murray’s hair glo? I don’t know but somehow it turned out to Benny favorite product of the Murray’s line. It works fine with my fine light wavy hair
I know this video is a year old but I just wanted to say that I can't find Sweet Goergia Brown pomade anywhere and I really want to try it because I just got into pomades a year or two ago and I'm starting off with classic pomades first and I've tried a decent amount of them but I still got a ton more to try but I digress. Anyways like i said I can't find SGB anywhere amd I'm wondering why.
I assume you are US based - Sweet Georgia Brown has been produced in Europe a few years now (prior to that Murray's held ownership around the early to mid 2010s), probably in Germany, which is why it doesn't seem to be available in the US anymore (same goes for Black & White, now produced in the UK).
A website called Robs Chop Shop sells it. It’s a barbershop based in Dallas,Texas, and they sell it. Got it for six dollars online, took four-five days to ship. Sweet Georgia Brown is now in my favorite pomades. I discovered it thanks to Danny’s channel.
Hey Squinty! Love your "Top x" vids. Always enjoy them. Wow! I thought Royal Crown would have been #1 on your list. Here in New York City, I find that a lot of cats are moving away from petroleum based pomades and sticking to water based. Along with the annoyance of washing them out of your hair, they point out that women don't like getting their hands greasy with they touch your hair. What are your thoughts on that?
To each their own. But it is somewhat true that women love to run their hands through a man's hair, but if you have your own woman she'd probably get used to not touching it - after all you probably have your degreased days when she would be free to touch it all she wants :)
Tres Flores is basically scented petroleum jelly. And I can't stress this enough - this list is MY personal top 5, and is therefore based on opinion and experience; it doesn't say "the top 5" but "my top 5"

I just love the classics. Amazing video! Thank you.

That's true, that's a downside I forgot to mention here. The strong lavender scent is not for everyone
The only classic pomade I've ever used is Murray's Superior, because it's the only one sold locally. It definitely works great!
As your fellow Asian. Which pomade brand do you think offer the highest hold for our hair type? Also which one gives the highest volume?
Would like to see a video of your favorite water based pomades.
Great selection. Those are among my favorites as well. Never used the Tancho though.
Informative pomade chronicle as usual. Question = Exelento vs. DAX Short & Neat (Hold Strength)?
Definitely eXelento. It's a light-medium while S&N is below a true light
@@pomadesandpomps Sweet, thx for the feedback Danny. Appreciate it
Which pomade would you use like as an everyday normal day pomade
Can we lose a lot of hair because of our pomads, is there a risk of baldness?
Freakin nice 👍🏼. I need to try the Tancho. I need to see if I can find it in an Asian market.
Is it true that James Dean use black and white pomade?
Love the Ventura!

Yes, it's not much different to the Super Light - just a tad lighter with more or less the same shine as eXelento
What is your opinion on murray's hair glo? In my opinion it works fine but the smell on it is weird.
Are you from singapore ? Or south Korea ? Greetings from Germany ❤🎉
Super awesome video!
I love black and white as well!
One question I had, did murrays always make exelento or did they "revive" the pomade.
They revived it. It was originally made by a medicine company, which is why it’s so nourishing to the hair. One of my favorite pomades.
@@mr.vintage4889 OH, cool. They should revive lovers moon pomade. Used by elvis back in his early days.

Elvis actually used royal crown as well.
What? No Tres Flores?

@@pomadesandpomps what about the water based version? Would that not be considered classic? Love your pomp, BTW.
@@BanduTheGreat By "classic" I meant pomades that have existed since the past century
Classic Pomades 🤟 Old School
Was this video sprung from the discussion about people who only use classic pomades on everything pomade? 👀
No, just coincidental timing
nooo!! no dax wave and groom!
Please note that this video does npt say "THE top 5" but it says "MY top 5".
