By far, the BEST teacher on youtube. The other big channels are horrible at explaining what they are doing, whereas Rusty takes the time to talk through each aspect in a way that makes sense. Thanks for all the help progressing, Rusty!
That’s kind of you to say SBR! I really love teaching and playing. When I’m making a lesson I really think back on what I wanted to learn early on. I appreciate the support and have a great weekend.👍
There are several very good ones. I appreciate each of them.

Good teacher's would show you how to use your pinky. He has a problem like a lot of guys leaving that pinky having a solo

Another excellent lesson Rusty!
Thanks so much Tim! Enjoy your weekend buddy 👍
I so enjoy these lessons Rusty, they are making a difference in my playing and by the end of the year, I will make a video comparison to now and it's going to be huge. All things are important, but timing and technique are two of the area's that have been holding me back from saying something on the guitar. I'm a long way from being able to 'give a coherent and flowing speech' on the instrument, but I am starting to string together some sentences that actually sound not too shabby! Of course consistent practice is so important, but you are the one person who has shown me, through your lessons, exactly what to practice to be able to 'speak' with the guitar. It's such a great feeling and I love to play so much more now than I used to. I agree with other comments here, you ARE a great teacher who has passion but is not here to show off...and that is so cool. Thank you Rusty :)
Thanks so much RJ! You know what to work on and sounds like you’re moving forward. Learning new skills is exciting and fun! I’m glad we’re on the journey together. Yes your support means a lot right now! Have a great weekend and let’s talk soon.🙏🙏🙏
Ok, this video hooked me, I subscribed. I have about 6 of the best teachers subscribed on you tube and you just joined them ! I have watched a lot of your videos and although I have played for 50+ I always learn or remeber something I already knew. keep up the good work.
I am honored to be on the list buddy! I’m the same way with UA-cam videos. I see or hear some thing that I already knew, and I’m just not using it right now. Thanks for checking out the video, Chris! Keep on rockin buddy.👍

This is one that I do with my looper so this is almost like your giving me feedback. you're ,always on target for me bud ...thanks
Hope you have fun with it WJ! Thanks a lot and have a great weekend buddy👍
Wow! your approach to this is awesome. I'm always looking for ways to get more out the pentatonic scale and this is a great example. Thank you for such a inviting way of teaching simple concepts. Sometimes it's what you learn after you know it all that really counts (Earl Weaver). I will be tuning in more. Thanks again Rusty.
Thanks! Glad the lesson was helpful! Talk to you soon 👍
Awesome video Rusty! Sounds like a great improvise for "Can't you see" by the Marshall Tucker Band.
I love me some Marshall Tucker! Thanks so much for checking out the video! Enjoy your week👍
Thanks so much!👌
You are teaching so much here, and breaking it down to where it's possible for a person to learn some fine improvisational technique! Awesome! Thanks! This lesson reminds me of the Alman Brothers.
Thanks Larry, I love me some Allman Brothers! Happy to hear that you got something from the lesson! Enjoy your weekend Larry ✌️
I have been playing for some time and never tied all 5 positions together. I recently found your channel and really like your teaching style. Your channel will keep growing as others find it. Thanks and keep them coming.
I appreciate the positive feedback John! It’s exciting to make new connections on the fretboard! Have a ROCKIN DAY ✌️
Very impressive, Rusty. Your performance is excellent and inspiring!😍🎸👏👏👏 Great tutorial.👍 Have a lovely weekend.😊💫
I always appreciate it Colourful Girl! You have a great weekend also❤️
@@rustysguitar1 thank you😊❤
😊
A scale playing up and down is still a scale ., you have to inject some live into it , see it as a starting point to find your own voice ., well you explained it all here 😊
Definitely just a starting point. We always need to “inject some life “into it! Well said John! Enjoy your weekend buddy 👍
@@rustysguitar1 you see how a misspelled live for life .. anyway you know what I mean by this , it has to have some soul ., personally I don’t like to listen to technological well advanced players most of the time they lack the emotions and feel in their playing and it’s all about fast runs ... that’s not music to me
You are right! I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks man ✌️
Hey Rusty, another fantastic lesson. Would love to know your strat's tone setup, absolutely love it and your playing.
Hey Phil, thanks for checking out the video! I’m using the Carr Mercury V amp set clean with some reverb from the amp. And driving the clean tone with the J Rocket Audio Archer pedal. Most the time I have my volume on about seven and when I want to dig in for a solo, I crank it up to 10 and adds a lot of grit. But when I back off on my volume again, it cleans up very well. Thanks a lot my friend. Catch you later.👍
@@rustysguitar1 thanks so much man for sharing this info, it's very much appreciated 👍
@@BobbyLFC9 You’re welcome buddy 👌
Great lesson Rusty! Not sure if it is because I watch your lessons a lot or something is up with your lessons. But the commercials are just about to make it too annoying to watch!
Hey Jeff, sorry about that. The commercials are the main way I get compensated for the my time and equipment for making lesson videos. I do know that they’re very annoying! I hope you can skip around some of them. It does mean a lot that you watch my videos. Thank you Jeff! Later bro 🤛
Almost sounds like Can't you see solo , when I first heard it from Marshall Tucker.
Definitely Marshall Tucker sounding! The same type of licks. Thanks for watching Doug!👍

i'VE SEEN some guitarist don't bend the strings they just slid up to the next half or full note, any thoughts on this
Yes, I use that technique. All the time also. Many players do. Sounds good sliding up or bending for sure. Thanks for checking out the video Darryl.
@@rustysguitar1 Thanks for your reply, It's a Nak to get the bend to sound right and I've been playing guitar for 50 years lol
You are right, brother! It’s taken me a lifetime. You’re welcome.👍
I'm so new to this that I don't even understand the language of it all.
Just try to find some beginner lessons that show how the chords and scales connect. I can start trying to memorize the fretboard a little by little. And you will start moving forward. Once you have a little theory under your belt, you will start understanding. Thanks for checking out the lesson.👍
Ah, now I hear it. Major Pentatonic is used a lot in Asian melodies.
Cool! Thanks for watching 👍
Mate what’s the blue note? You don’t explain
Sorry about that! Not a good breakdown in this video. I plan on making a blue note video soon. But it’s the flat 5 interval of the scale. Almost all blues and rock players add this chromatic note to the Pentatonic scale. Thanks for watching! Cheers 👍
Can't you see?
Yes! I love that song. And those are the same chords for sure. Thanks for checking out the video Greg. Have a great weekend.👍
Where's the backing track? For this song.Sounds like toy carlweld. I'm not seeing it in comments
Thanks for checking out the video. Yes I love me some Marshall Tucker for sure! The link for the backing track is in the description. Happy jamming👍
@@rustysguitar1 I hunted over a year to find lead break down to cant you see.
