Met Mike at E18 just after Proby school in 1980 when we were sent out to do Oil Burner permits. Funny house and great guys. That made up my mind to stay in Manhattan when I got assigned a unit. Went to E14 and in 83 transferred to L-3. Most of what he spoke about is in my book, MY TURN ON THE FIRELINES 1980-2003. Miss those days.
Lt Mike sure has alot of chat... but with LIGHTING speed too - his PASSION is endless....I can see how he went for 43 years!! RESPECT💥💪 Great show guys, THANK YOU AND STAY SAFE.😀
Best FDNY Lt hands down I use to buff at 45 58 he was was on the engine sometimes and I would ride with him and chofer Bob straub who then became a union trustee. Thank you Scotto for always being kind and humble also extremely knowledgeable.
Nice show!! The stories shared are very similar to ones my father, Sam Savitsky, shared with my family growing up. He was FDNY from 1947 to 1978. He worked as fireman in 18 Engine. When promoted to LT. in 1962, he was assigned to 117 Truck in Astoria until his retirement in 1978. I heard the Lt. mention Fr. Sawicki. My dad worked with his father in 18 Engine back in the day. I will be tuning in to listen to more episodes!
Funny as hell! It took me 3 hours to watch a 2 hour video. I slowed down the UA-cam playback speed; as a native southerner I don't have an ear for it and I couldn't keep up!
